"Bud" EDWARDS, formerly of Moonbeam, Milton and Timmins on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2005 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing, Ontario at the age of 83. He is survived by his beloved wife, June (née ORROCK) of Moonbeam, father of Wendy ORFANAKOS (Jim) of Richmond Hill, Keith (Rachel) of Paisley, Ted of Edmonton and Michael (Margo) of Victoria, three step-children, Rodney JONES, Michael JONES and Cindy JONES all of Toronto Island, one brother Herb of North Bay, daughter-in-law Connie LARABIE of Chilliwack as well as ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Cherished and devoted mother to Madeleine (Art) LAIR, Norman (Juliana) and Rita. She will be remembered by her grandchildren Roger (Alison) LAIR, Sherry-Lynn (Phil) FREEMAN, William (Kristie) JOLLIFFE, Katherine (David) ADAM/ADAMS, Christopher, Lance and Scott. Beloved brother of Denise "Gubby" ARMOUR (David) and loving uncle to Celia CHASSELS (Ian LARGE) and John Peter CHASSELS (Darcy). Great uncle of Jeremy LARGE and Cameron CHASSELS. He was World War 2 Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force and Fleet Air Arm. As a commercial pilot he flew aircraft around the world. He was an expert sailor, a gifted cartoonist and restored vintage automobiles. He will be greatly missed by family and Friends in Canada and Antigua. A Memorial Service was held in Antigua on July 4, 2006.

On Sunday July 9th, 2006 at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, after suffering a stroke. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Ibby BRADSHAW.) Devoted and much loved father of Beth, Ross and Clare, and father in law of Bill McCRACKEN and Elaine WEBSTER. Loving grandfather (Gump) of Shannon and Jamie McCRACKEN, and Thomas, Daniel and Maggie LARGE. Dear brother of Helen McLAUGHLIN and the late Mary TROW and brother-in-law of Dick and Val BRADSHAW, the late George TROW and the late Jim McLAUGHLIN. Educated at Upper Canada College, University of Toronto, Trinity College and Columbia University. During World War 2 from 1941-1945 Stew served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve, on loan to the Royal Navy-Coastal Forces. He had a long and distinguished career in Independent Schools as a teacher and administrator, completing his career at Appleby College from 1974 to 1987. A Service of Thanksgiving celebrating the life of Stewart to be held 2: 00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2006 at the John Bell Chapel, Appleby College, 546 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. By Patrick MALONEY, Free Press Reporter, Wed., September 13, An Ingersoll man working toward his dream of becoming a police officer was killed in a car crash this week.
Jeffrey DAWDRY, who had volunteered since 2004 as an auxiliary officer with Waterloo Regional police, graduated only two weeks ago from the police foundations program at London's Westervelt College.
"About the last three or four years (his focus) was strictly to become a police officer," Garry DAWDRY said of his son yesterday. "He would have made a damn good one, too."
The 37-year-old DAWDRY was in Sarnia on Monday, working for a lawn care company, when his vehicle left the road and crashed, killing him.
His family was told he had a heart attack while driving.
A Huron Park high school graduate, DAWDRY grew up largely in Woodstock, but had moved to Ingersoll in recent years.
He's survived by his wife, Jennifer, and eight-year-old son, Ryan.
Family described DAWDRY as a smooth talker with a great sense of humour whose hobbies included playing horseshoes.
At Westervelt, where he had just completed the year-long police program, DAWDRY's death blindsided officials.
"We're extremely shocked and saddened," said Linda KALMIKOV, who oversees the police course and knew DAWDRY well.
"He was extremely well-liked by all the staff, all the officers who teach here and all his classmates without exception. Just a really dynamic individual."
The school's flag was at half-mast yesterday, KALMIKOV noted.
Auxiliary officers work alongside full-time police, but are unarmed and unpaid.
Waterloo police remembered DAWDRY, who worked mainly in the Cambridge unit, as a dedicated worker whose death has rattled the force.
"Jeffrey… committed a fair bit of his spare time (to making) Waterloo a better place to live," Insp. Bryan LARKIN said.
"He far exceeded the expectations of our organization."

At Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, Nova Scotia in his 93rd year, peacefully on the evening of July 12th. Bob was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Allison McFADDEN and is survived by his children, David (Jen LOCK,) Lee (Jackie RETZLAFF,) and Jan (Janet LARKMAN.) He was predeceased by his sister Dawn, and survived by siblings Doris, Jack and Bruce. Bob's early life was a vibrant mixture of academics and athletics. He obtained his B.A. in English in 1935, played varsity football for University of Toronto 1933-35, and was captain in '34 and was the first recipient of the ' Johnny Copp Trophy' in '35. Bob was quarterback of the Toronto Argonauts in 1936, '40, and '41. In 1946, he obtained an honours degree in English along with his Teacher's Certificate. From 1936 to 1954, Bob taught English, French, History, and Phys Ed at North Toronto Collegiate Institute. In that time was the War. From 1942 to 1945 Bob was a Flying Officer with Pilots Wings. From 1954 to 1958 Bob taught both English and French and was head of U of T's Extension Department responsible for adult education. In 1958 Bob became headmaster of St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ontario, a boys independent school where he stayed until retirement in 1974. During his tenure at the University of Toronto Extension and St Andrew's he attended educational conferences including Wales, Nassau, Athens, Georgia, Montreal and the Dominican Republic. The culmination of his career was perhaps June 1 1972 when it was conferred upon him the degree of Doctor of Letters from York University. Bob was an avid curling skip, good canoeist, and not-so-patient fisherman! He will be remembered by his quiet, gentle manor and his love of the Bay of Fundy. His children, from the bottom of our hearts, wish to thank all the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge for the ongoing and continued support they provide. This journey would not have been possible without you. Cremation was his choice. A private family event will take place. BROCKIE, Derrick Adam
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Derrick on Saturday, November 4th, suddenly and unexpectedly due to complications from the treatment for leukemia at Trillium Health Centre - Mississauga. While Derrick was only 61 years old, he lived a full, happy and satisfying life. Derrick is survived by his beloved wife, Michele RIEL and his five dear children, Debbie SPENCE (Jeremy,) Janet LARMER (Scott), Darren BROCKIE (Jennifer), Craig BROCKIE (Allyson) and Louis RIEL- BROCKIE. Proud grandfather to Adam, Emma, Dayna, Jay, Tori and Claire. Derrick's great sense of humour and unconventional thought process made each day with him an exciting adventure. He was a friend, mentor, teacher, hero and soul mate. He will be sadly missed. In spite of the commitment to his successful business, he was able to enjoy many passions including boating, horseracing, skiing, playing hockey and golf. Peacefully, at home, Norman Ralph ANDERSON, at the age of 84, Loving husband and dear friend of Valerie (TAILOR/TAYLOR) SMITH. Norm was blessed with three marriages throughout his life. His first marriage was to Patricia (SMITH) ANDERSON of London, England, whom he met while stationed in Surrey during the war. Loved father of their twin daughters Norma and her husband Jim SMITH of Ireland and Dierdre LLOYD of Manchester, along with son Sean and his wife Rasaline ANDERSON, London, United Kingdom and their mother Patricia. Norm was then married to Gloria HALLIWELL for over thirty years until her death in 1990, and was much loved and respected by their son David and his wife Sara ANDERSON of Camlachie. Step-father to Gloria's children Linda and husband Lee McQUIRTER of Sarnia and Len and his wife Maureen GLANFIELD of British Columbia. Norm also enjoyed becoming step-father to Val's children, Shelly and her husband Laurence LOVEGROVE, Petrolia, Terry SMITH, Strathroy, and Julie and her husband Dale KELLY of Forest. Much loved grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by wife Gloria (1990) and granddaughter Lauren Gloria ANDERSON (2000.) Norm was born on July 17th, 1921 at Ochre River, Manitoba, to Ralph Waldo ANDERSON (1955) and Margaret YOUNG, who died when Norm was 5 years old. His grandmother Eliza YOUNG (1973), whom Norm highly respected and loved dearly, stepped in to raise him and his siblings, George (1991), Ross (1972), Marguerite and Malcolm (1987) MacDONALD of Sarnia, and William and his wife Ida, also of Sarnia. Norm's father re-married Jessie DALGHIESH (1985) and had two sons, Norm's half brothers James (1984) and Gerald and his wife Gladys of Trenton. At the age of 16, Norm went to Malartic, Quebec to work in the gold mines with his father. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1941 in Noranda, Quebec and went overseas in September. He was on Active Service in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, including the D-Day landings on Juno Beach. He returned to Canada in '45 and worked in the mines until coming to Sarnia in '50 to work in the insulation business, mainly building the plants in the Chemical Valley, eventually purchasing Commercial and Industrial Insulation in '76 and selling it in '82. He owned and developed Forest Golf and Country Hotel from '58 til '89. Not liking retirement, together with his son David, he purchased and developed Bonnie Doon Golf and Country Club. Norm loved sports. He played hockey when he was young and of course enjoyed golf. He was a great curler and a Lifetime Member of the Forest Curling Club. In later years he was a great spectator, especially whenever Dale and Julie played. Norm lived a very full life. Beneath the often gruff exterior lay a heart of gold, one to which is much-loved grandchildren and step-grandchildren can attest. He had many Friends and was a good husband and father.
