On June 15, 2006, at home in the arms of her loving daughter, it is with deep sandess that the family announces the peaceful passing of their mother, Florence Alberta (Bertie) ARNOLD (nee MURRAY, HOLMAN) in her 103rd year. Beloved wife of the late William ARNOLD and predeceased by step-daughter Vivian LAND. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters from Monkton, Atwood area. Dearest mother of Mary Ellen (Lory) MORO of Denfield, John K. MURRAY and his partner Cathy of Port Stanley. Much loved grandmother to Lee Ann VARGA, Serena MORO, Gerald (Betty) LAND, Carole LAND and Charlotte FAZZARI (Sam.) She will be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren Ethan and Camryn VARGA of Strathroy. Peacefully went home to be with his Lord whom he loved with all his heart and soul on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Victoria Hospital, Anthony Wm. Lawrence "Tony" DAY of London in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn (Wallace). Dear father of Darcy, Dan (Maria) and Doug. Dear son of Harvey and the late Dorothy DAY and her husband the late Reg LAND. Dear brother of Rudy DAY, Helen NORTH, Donna PHILLIPS and Vicki SUNSERRI. Fondly remembered by friend and mother of his children Janet. Predeceased by his sisters Roseanne, Molly, Pat, and Alice and brother Harvey. Dearly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Tony was retired but very active as Treasurer of Carpenters Union Local 1946. He loved music of all kinds, playing his guitars and enjoyed health research over the past few years. A very active man in his church, his great faith served him to the end. After a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving family, Gerald Arthur NICHOLLS passed away at London Health Sciences Centre-Victoria Campus on Saturday, April 1, 2006 in his 74th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Shirley for 50 years. Loving father of Randy NICHOLLS (Carol), Rick NICHOLLS (Rebecca), of London. Predeceased by his youngest son Glenn Robert NICHOLLS (1990). Devoted son of Olive DENNIS and brother of Donna NICHOLLS of London. Proud grandfather of Samantha (Ryan) and Stephanie NICHOLLS of Cambridge, Nathan NICHOLLS of Saint Thomas, Katelyn and Deanna NICHOLLS of London. Great-grandfather of Haley CAREY of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by Pauline NICHOLLS- TRISKA (Chris) and Chrissy-Lynn of Saint Thomas and Anne NICHOLLS (Rob) of Cambridge. Ryan and Tanis MILLS of London. Jerry was a 50 year member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitting Local 593, retiring from Comstock in 1991. Jerry was the founding president of the Ian M. Garden Jr. Tent 174 of the Circus Fans of America and traveled extensively to see as many performances as possible in Canada and U.S. He joined Tents and Tops in Michigan to Florida and actively participated in the meetings and conventions. His love of the Circus Model building, and his Circus poster collection which covers the basement walls. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association, Jesse's Journey or the charity of your choice would be most appreciated. Frank was the founder of Wiltsie Woodworking and later Wiltsie Truck Bodies on Talbot Street West in Aylmer. After a courageous battle with cancer, Shirley Catherine LYSKO (née EMPEY) of Tillsonburg passed away in her 66th year on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at her son's home in Saint Thomas surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Devoted wife of her late husband William LYSKO (1981.) Loving mother of five children, Lynn and husband Doctor Richard AMSTADTER of California, Michael and wife Kathryn of Saint Thomas, William of Burlington, Robert and wife Stacy of Ohio and Cindy and husband Todd COULTER of Barrie. Proud Grandmother of Tristan and Chelsea-Lynn LYSKO, Daniel and Jessica AMSTADTER, Cassidy and Mitchell COULTER, Lauren, Larissa and Lydia LYSKO. Born on a farm in Springfield to the late Roy and Mabel EMPEY, Shirley was one of 13 children. She is survived by sisters Luella MEATHERALL of Ingersoll and Jean EMPEY of Tillsonburg brothers Keith (RoseMarie) EMPEY of Springfield, Jack (Pat) EMPEY of Summers Corners, and Don (Margaret) EMPEY of Norwich; brother-in-law Don WILLIAMSON of London; sisters-in-law Marlene EMPEY of Springfield, Lorraine (Wayne) CLARK of Saint Thomas, Irene LYSKO of Saint Thomas and Shirley LYSKO of Brockville; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Shirley is predeceased by sisters Helen (Harry) ESSELTINE, Norma WILLIAMSON, Dorothy (Mack) SUTHERLAND, brothers Howard, Harry, Kenneth and Melvin EMPEY, brothers-in-law Howard MEATHERALL and Tony LYSKO. Shirley worked hard throughout her life, both in and out of the home. She worked for the past 10 years as a Mary Kay beauty consultant. In this role, she met many women who will remember her for her unique wit and inner strength. She will be sorely missed by Friends and family. Died peacefully in Thornbury, Ontario on Saturday, February 11, 2006, in his 91st year. son of the late Colin H. and Grace JEFFREY) SHIRRIFF of Toronto. Husband of the late Kathleen PALLESEN of Calgary and latterly of Ouilla McLEOD of Toronto and predeceased by a step-daughter, Linda McLEOD. Loved by his children Peter (Doris) SHIRRIFF and Carol (Bill) STRATTON and their children. Remembered with great affection by his only surviving brother Colin, family members and Friends. He had five brothers and sisters, Mina (Stan LANDELL,) Frank (Barbara SLOAN,) Murray (Margaret FISHER), Anna (Lloyd JACKES) and Colin (Joan IRELAND). Jeffrey served as an Infantry Officer in World War 2 and then spent many years in the food business, mainly in sales and marketing. During those years he served a term as President of Goodwill Industries and assisted Ouilla in her extensive work with Goodwill. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and interment of Jeffrey's cremated remains will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto and a private celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
