for 27 years, at times providing the principal income for the

in her 50th year. Diane was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario.
She graduated with a B.A. from Laurentian University in Sudbury
and earned her B.Ed. degree from Nipissing University in North
Bay, Ontario. She taught grade school for a number of years in
Northern Alberta and for the York Region Catholic District School
Board. Diane was always creative in writing poetry and verse
that was both whimsical and amusing. She possessed a dry but
keen sense of humour. Diane's generous and faith-filled spirit
enabled her to reach out to others and kept her daily outlook
on life positive and rewarding. Diane is survived by her mother

Emeritus at Queen's University, Past President of the Federation
of Ontario Naturalists and Kingston Field Naturalists. Bob's
wishes were that there be no formal funeral service, but only
a simple family ceremony at his summer home in Muskoka following
cremation. Those who wish to remember Bob by a donation to the
Kingston Field Naturalists (760 Meadowood Road, Kingston, Ontario
K7M 5G5) or Ontario Nature (Federation of Ontario Naturalists)
at 355 Lesmill Road, Toronto, Ontario M3B 2W8, would be appreciated

Passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Sunnybrook Hospital,
at the age of 80. Susan was the beloved wife of the late Leslie
(Laci) LAKATOS, loving mother and mother-in-law of Judit and
Gary GLADMAN, and devoted grandmother (Anyu) of Lindsy, Randy
and Dan GLADMAN.
Susan was cherished by her brother and sister-in-law,
Tibor and Ilonka
KRAUSZ, and her twin sister and late brother-in-law,
Kato and Geza
LIGETI.
Greatly loved, Susan will be sadly missed
by all of her family and many Friends. Service at Benjamin's

was born in Poznan, Poland and came to Toronto after the war
to start a new life, find opportunities and raise a family. He

& Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. (Hwy. 10, North of
Queen Elizabeth Way) on Friday, February 10th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral

In her 90th year. Stella was predeceased in 1969 by her husband
Fred, a 32 year Dofasco employee. Her parents were Joseph
KROL
and Anna SWACHA, who came to Hamilton from Poland in the early
1900's. She is survived by her two sons, Fred (Carole), and Tom
(Joanne); five grandchildren, Dave (Kim), Joanne (Sean), Paul
(Suzanne), Rebecca (Peter), and Kathryn; seven great grandchildren,
and a sister, Lillian
SPERANZINI.
Stella was among the first
female optometrists in Canada, graduating from the University
of Toronto, College of Optometry, in 1938, and serving the Polish
speaking community for many years. She was also an accomplished
pianist, church organist and talented tennis player. She loved
to read, along with her crosswords, and especially loved her
grandchildren and their families. She came to the realization,
in an optimistic way, that "old age is no fun - if it doesn't
hurt, it doesn't work." Visitation at the P.X. Dermody Funeral
Home, 1919 King Street East, Hamilton, on Thursday, March 16,
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8: 30 p.m. A Funeral Mass
will be offered at Saint Ann's Catholic Church (Barton at Sherman)
Hamilton, on Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Orbis - Saving

KRAWIEC. Born to a farming
life in Kopcie, Poland, Walter and his family cherished their
Polish heritage. In the early 1960's, Walter brought his young
family to Toronto and then moved to London in the 1970's. In
1984, Walter and Maria returned to their roots on a 14 acre farm
outside of London where Walter focused on his family. He enjoyed
tending to his farm animals and his hobbies including mechanics
and electronics. Even before successful heart surgery in 2004,
Walter embraced a healthy lifestyle and continued with exercise
to the end. Special thanks to the good samaritan who applied
cardio-pulmonary resuscitation to this determined cyclist at
the roadside. Resting at O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street,
London, on Sunday, January 8, 2006, from 2: 00 to 4:00 p.m. and
7: 00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our
Lady of Czestochowa Church, London, on Monday at 10: 00 a.m. Internment
