Of Kincardine, died peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre-University Hospital, after a brief battle with a brain aneurysm, on Monday, December 25, 2006, in his 56th year. Ron is survived by his wife, Nancy HENRICKS (née KNIFFEN) of 36 years next month, and his daughters, Kimberly GARDINER and her husband Bill of Whitby, Rhonda PLAGOS and her husband Angelo of London, and son James HENRICKS and his fiancée, Tammy MASIK of Toronto. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Brendan, Breanna and Brinly GARDINER; Cassidy and Christopher PLAGOS. Loved brother of Bill (Laurie) HENRICKS of Simcoe, Herb (Marianne) HENRICKS of Cottam, and Bob (Jackie) HENRICKS also of Cottam. Son-in-law of Doris WORTLEY and the late Ab WARTLEY. COUPLAND, Ruth Eileen (née GORRILL)
Peacefully on Saturday, February 25th, 2006, Ruth Eileen COUPLAND passed away at Lions Personal Care Centre at the age of 85. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda (Don) KNIGHT of Owen Sound, Ontario, Peggy of Ottawa, Nancy (Kurt) CLYDE of Winnipeg, and son, Ken (Marilyn) of Winnipeg, grandchildren, Geoff (Allison) KNIGHT, Gary, Brennan, and Pamela CLYDE, and Vincent and Laura COUPLAND. And great-grandchildren Meesha ALBANO and Kiefer KNIGHT of London, Ontario. She is also survived by her sisters, Clova DOBSON and Olive (Edgar) GAGE, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1985. Ruth was born in Winnipeg on March 24th, 1920, where she lived most of her life. She was a lifelong member of Young United Church where she made many lasting Friendships. Throughout her life she was very much involved in the Girl Guides of Canada organization, in later life becoming a member of the Trefoil Guild. Mom worked for Clarks-Gambles in the payroll department of MacLeods for many years. Mom enjoyed her family and her Friends immensely. In her retirement years she traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Europe, New York, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. She was a picture taker and loved to share her photos with family and Friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mom's life will take place on Wednesday March 1st, at 11: 00 a.m., at Young United Church, Winnipeg. A reception will follow the service. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Lions Personal Care Centre for their excellent care over the last two years.

Karen is remembered as a loved daughter by her parents Carleton and Evlyn (MARSHALL) KNIGHT of Meaford. She was the loving mother of Teresa and her husband Greg WAGHORNE of Innisfil, and Michael and his wife Lisa McVITTIE of Ingersoll and she will be sadly missed grandmother 'Nan' of Marcus and Jason WAGHORNE and Zachary and Kenton McVITTIE. Karen will be remembered as a dear sister by Forrest KNIGHT and his wife Jean▼ of Meaford, Karle and her husband John CHAPMAN of Bayfield, and Tally and her husband Ken ALMAS of Meaford. KNIGHT, William Alfred " Alf" (1924-2006)
It is with great sorrow, that the family announces Alf's passing on Friday, January 6th, 2006, after an extremely courageous five year battle with cancer. He departed this world at home in Brantford with his family at his bedside. Beloved husband of 61 years to Edith (BEAR) KNIGHT, loving father of Lynda JACKSON and cherished father-in-law of Bruce, all of Brantford. He is survived by his sister Madeline CATLING of Woodstock. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his great uncle Alfred Edwin PRIEST (1937,) his mother Emma Maud KNIGHT (1978) and his father William Doleman KNIGHT (1983.) Alf was a Tool Maker at Taylor Electric, London, and Timkin Roller Bearings, Saint Thomas. He was also a 25-year employee of Massey Ferguson in Woodstock and Brantford as a draftsman, tool designer and Process Technician. During his second career, later in life, Alf served the Ontario Government from 1984 to 1998 as a Court Constable, Sheriff's Deputy and a Court Services Officer. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the A. Peacefully on February 4th at Creek Way Village in Burlington in her 93rd year; predeceased by sisters Frances STEELS of London, Ontario and Mary SANDLE of Komoka, Ontario. Dorothy, aunt Dot, was the family matriarch of nieces, Laverna SANDLE, Leila▼ RUSSELL, and Noni STEELS and nephews, Earl SANDLE, Judd▼ STEELS and Lee STEELS who will miss her dearly and to whom she was an inspiration. A graduate of nursing from Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Dorothy joined the medical corps shortly after the war broke out, served at Westminster Hospital in London and then overseas in an operating tent close to the front lines. Upon her return from the war Dorothy graduated from the University of Western Ontario in public health in 1947. Dorothy joined the Victorian Order of Nurses and served in Ottawa and Brantford before becoming head of the Oakville Victorian Order of Nurses where she served from 1954 to 1966. Dorothy organized and oversaw the Home Care programme in Hamilton-Wentworth until her retirement in 1974. Many good Friends fondly remember Dot's "gingerbread house" on the Bronte Road, Oakville, where she spent many happy years feeding the birds and looking after her cats. Mother of Larry C. LAWRENCE and his wife Martha " Marty" of Saint Thomas, Mary M. "Peggy" GOODALL and her partner Brian ASHFORD of R.R.#1, Aylmer, and Bonnie C. RICKWOOD and her partner Paul HODGES of Saint Thomas. Sister of Pat FILLMORE and her husband Charles of London, Eva HAMACHER of Townsend, Minerva HURST of Wiarton, late Dorothy,▲▼ late Elsie and late Harvey KNIGHT. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Born in Wiarton, Ontario, March 19, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ezra KNIGHT and late Amy (Burke) Knight CRAWFORD, and step-daughter of the late William CRAWFORD. Friends and relatives will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment in South Park Cemetery. Born in the Gore of Downie, on April 6, 1927, son of the late William and Margaret (BAKER) KELLY and step-son of the late Francis SLOAT. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stratford. Beloved husband of 50 years of the late Theresa (WHALING) KELLY (1998.) Loving father of Beth and her husband Steve YOUNG, Joan and her husband Jack DEGROOT and Jane KELLY and her partner Brad FLOOD. KNIGHT, Edith Mary▲ " Ede" (née BEAR)
It is with great sadness that her daughter announces Ede's passing, after a brief and unexpected battle with cancer, on October 3rd, 2006. She passed away at the Brantford General Hospital with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Ede is the beloved wife of the late Alf KNIGHT (2006.) She is survived by her loving daughter Lynda JACKSON and her husband Bruce and her only surviving sibling Doris KENNEDY. Predeceased by her parents Charles (1956) and Alice (1938) BEAR; her brothers and sisters Charles (1971,) Emma Liley (1988), Frederick (1989), Leonard (1993), Alice Liley (1993,) Walter (1994,) Gertrude SMALLMAN (1994,) Kathleen DELVES (2002) and an infant brother. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and Friends. In her younger years, Ede worked in various factories in London, Ontario, O Pee Chee Gum, McCormick's Biscuits, Kelvinator, General Steel Wares (on war work) and Natures. She also bowled on a team for Taylor Electric. Ede was a member of the Chancel Guild for many years at the Church of the Epiphany, London and for over forty years at Saint Mark's Anglican Church, Brantford. She was a creative seamstress/dressmaker providing most of the clothing for herself and her daughter, as well as items for church bazaars and an avid and talented gardener for most of her life. After the age of 65, Ede studied oil painting, which was one of her lifelong dreams, and became an excellent and prolific painter. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint Mark's Anglican Church, 155 Memorial Drive, Brantford on Friday at 1: 00 p.m. The Venerable James SUTTON Officiating. Peacefully at University Hospital with her family at her side, on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, Maureen (Miki), beloved wife of the late Jan (1970) in her 86th year. Cherished mother of Mark BIALKOWSKI (Karen PHILLIPS), Jules BIALKOWSKI (Wanita), Kathleen GEORGE (Lonnie), Karen SWORIK (Bruce), Joseph BIALKOWSKI (DiAnn). Proud grandmother of Jillian BOURQUE (Bill), Jeff BIALKOWSKI (Katrina), James BIALKOWSKI (Tess), Joey Lynn BIALKOWSKI, Jessica KNIGHT (Patrick), Dylan SWORIK (Sarah), Juliane BOWERS (Isaiah), Alexander SWORIK, Michelle GULYAS (Ryan,) and Kevin BIALKOWSKI. Special Great-Grandmother of Emma, Claire, William and Emily. Loved sister of Frances SUMNER and the late Margaret WRIGHT. Miki trained as a nurse in Scotland and served in the Second World War, where she met and nursed her dear husband Jan After immigrating to Canada in 1949 with two small sons, two daughters and another son were soon added to her family. In the 50's and 60's, Miki was passionately busy with her young family, volunteer work, baking, knitting, and homemaking. She returned to the workforce at University Hospital in the early 70's following the death of her dear husband. Miki will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her compassion for others, her love of cats and books (especially Stephen King), her storytelling, and special occasions celebrated with a glass of "Julio". Despite incredible hardships, Miki had a love of life and an incredibly strong Scottish constitution. She will live on in our hearts forever! Visitors will be received at John T. The family of the late Pat MAILLOUX, wish to thank everyone who were so supportive during Pat's many years of illness and following her recent death. We wish to thank you for your numerous visits at home and in hospital, for the beautiful flowers, the food sent to our homes, the help we received at our homes, the cards received, the courtesies shown to us and in particular the memorial donations made in Pat's memory to our Oil Heritage District Community Centre and our C.E.E. Hospital Foundation. We are so fortunate to live in such a wonderful and supportive community. Special thanks to Pat's liver specialist, Doctor Cameron GHENT and her transplant surgeon, Doctor Bill WALL at University Hospital, who gave Pat an extra 10 years of good living following her many years of liver disease and transplant and Doctor Ian CHIN- YEE and the many other caregivers in the Chemo and Radiation department at the London Regional Cancer Centre and Victoria Hospital and the Sarnia-Lambton Community Care Access Centre who helped us at home along with V.H.A. Nursing and Victorian Order of Nurses Home Care for their excellent care over the last five months of Pat's life. Also, Dr. John BUTLER and Doctor Enoch DANIEL and the wonderful staff at Bluewater Health -- C.E.E. Site, your concern and care for Pat was beyond expectation and greatly appreciated. Also, many thanks to Father Stephen SAVEL, for his care of Pat, to Fr. Dan VERE and Fr. Paul DUPLESSIE, for con-celebrating Pat's funeral mass, and the many other clergy who visited and prayed with us. Peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. Dearly loved sister of Judd (Dale), Bert (previously deceased) and Lee (Celia) and admired aunt to Chris, Kent, Sheri, Anthony and Craig. Noni was the long time companion and great friend of Barb McLELLAN and was greatly saddened when a stroke took Barb this past July. Noni and Barb hiked the Bruce Trail together, end to end. They were both well known for their philanthropy in many and various causes. Noni, a truly great lady in every sense, will be sadly missed by all her family and loyal Friends. The family gives grateful thanks to all the nurturing caregivers at Carpenter Hospice and especially to Friends Mildred KNIGHT, Jim and Marion McLELLAN for their loving support. There will be no funeral service but a private internment will be held in the spring. The family graciously decline flowers in favour of donations to the Cancer Society, a hospice, or a charity of your choice.

CLARK, Harold William Lewis (1912-2006)
Harold CLARK (or affectionately "Man" as he was known to his family) died peacefully at Southlake Village nursing home in Newmarket, Ontario on Friday, December 22. Harold was the devoted husband of Mary KNIGHT until her death in 2000, and the generous and loving father of Brian and his wife Dianne of Mahwah, New Jersey. He was also the proud and caring grandfather and great-grandfather of: Jeffrey and his wife Shannon and their children Mackenzie, Creighton, Evy and Brendan of Aurora, Ontario; Kristen and her husband Chad of Dayton, Ohio; Timothy and his wife Lisa and their children Aidan and Molly of Ramsey, New Jersey; and Kathryn of Toronto, Ontario. Harold was born in Toronto and survived both his older brother Leonard and his younger brother Reginald. Harold served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a trainer of pilots during World War 2. After some time as a floor-trader on the Toronto Stock Exchange, he spent most of his working career at British-American Oil (later Gulf Oil) until his retirement in 1977. Harold's love of music was a passion throughout his life, beginning as a choirboy at age five and culminating most recently as a 'Barbershopper' in both the Markham chorus and as a member of the "Suburbanaires." Family and Friends take comfort from the fact that heaven most certainly has another joyful singer. Peacefully on February 4th, 2006, at Creek Way Village in Burlington in her 93rd year; predeceased by sisters Frances STEELS of London, Ontario and Mary SANDLE of Komoka, Ontario. Dorothy, Aunt Dot, was the family matriarch of nieces, Laverna SANDLE, Leila▲ RUSSELL, and Noni STEELS and nephews, Earl SANDLE, Judd▲ STEELS and Lee STEELS, who will miss her dearly and to whom she was an inspiration. A graduate of nursing from Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Dorothy joined the medical corps shortly after the war broke out, served at Westminster Hospital in London and then overseas in an operating tent close to the front lines. Upon her return from the war Dorothy graduated from the U.W.O. in public health in 1947. Dorothy joined the Victorian Order of Nurses and served in Ottawa and Brantford before becoming head of the Oakville Victorian Order of Nurses where she served from 1954 to 1966. Dorothy organized and oversaw the Home Care programme in Hamilton-Wentworth until her retirement in 1974. Many good Friends fondly remember Dot's "gingerbread house" on the Bronte Road, Oakville, where she spent many happy years feeding the birds and looking after her cats. Passed away, on April 1, 2006, in his 97th year, at Meighan Manor in Toronto. Until June 2005 he lived at home with his wife, Phyllis LAMB, for nearly 60 years. Their last years together were spent happily tending their garden, and visiting with family, Friends, and neighbours. He is survived by Phyllis, their sons, Robert (Patricia MacKAY), David (Lynne), and Peter (Kathie KNIGHT) and their families: their grandchildren, Michael LAMB (Jessica SORICHETTI,) Jennifer BARBOUR (Scott), Carolyn LAMB, Tama and Kira KNIGHT, and their great-grand_son Jack BARBOUR. Phyllis and her family thank the home-care workers, the nurses and doctors at Sunnybrook Hospital, and particularly the caregivers at Meighan Manor for their dedicated and loving care during the last two years of his life.
