Passed away at Lisaard House in Cambridge on Tuesday November 21, 2006 in his 86th year with his loving family and special Friends at his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marjorie (SCHMIDT,) his brothers Leo, Francis, Bert, Roy, and Fred. Wilf (Poppy) started Keleher's Western Wear 50 years ago. He had a love for horses, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Dad's passion to laugh and his sharing of tall tales will be sadly missed. It's not what you take with you, but what you leave behind. Poppy (Dad) will be deeply missed by his children, Connie COSMAN, and her husband John, Shirley KELEHER, Anita GEDDES, Ron KELEHER, Larry KELEHER and his wife Lisa. Poppy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren Holley, Brieann, Jon, Emily and Larrisa. Wilf will be missed by his two sisters Margaret and her husband Gord HANNESON and Irene and her husband Howard McKEOWN. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Otto Martin RADOSTITS on December 15, 2006. The family is thankful for his many years of wonderful health and his productive life. We are joyful that his courageous battle with kidney cancer is over and he is at peace with his God. Otto was born in Edmonton, the eldest son of Austrian immigrants, Stephen and Hermine RADOSTITS (deceased), who instilled in their four boys the values of the Roman Catholic faith, a strong work ethic and the importance of a good education. Otto's early years on a mixed farm and his high school job at the Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Edmonton were the beginnings of a life long passion for veterinary medicine. Otto received his DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1959 and a Master of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan (U. of S.) in 1967. As a veterinary educator, clinician and author, Otto had a profound influence on his students, on the establishment and growth of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the U. of S. and on his beloved profession. On his retirement in 2002, he was appointed Professor Emeritus and the Western Canadian Association of Bovine Practitioners established the O.M. Radostits Legacy Fund to fund an annual lecture series on bovine medicine. Otto received many awards and honours during his career. He treasured his teaching awards, particularly the Master Teacher award from the U. of S. He was humbled and proud to be made a member of the Order of Canada in 2003. In 2006 he received the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association President's Award to recognize his dedication and contributions to the Association and he also received the Sask Centennial Medal. Otto's wise counsel, mentorship and his numerous authoritative textbooks on large animal medicine were sought after nationally and internationally. Otto loved classical music, attending the Saskatoon Symphony, singing (especially the annual WCVM student Christmas carolling), reading, tennis, biking and long walks, even at -30°. His most special times were spent at family celebrations with his wife and extended family. He loved to debate the issues of the day - his daily reading of the Globe and Mail made him a formidable debater and kept us all informed. Although, his profession allowed him to travel the world, there was no place like home. He was a proud Canadian and always thankful for the many opportunities our country provides for all. Otto leaves his loving and devoted wife, Ruth (Clancy,) six children and their families: Anna ALDERSON (Pryce,) Liam and Erin; Eileen RADOSTITS, Gershon and Sophia Julia RADOSTITS (Richard HONG,) Sebastian and Justin; Stephen RADOSTITS (Robin FISHER), Todd, Mark, Kurt and Joshua; Anita LIVINGSTONE (Brent,) Kayden and Chloe; and Jennifer ARTHURS (Richard,) Brendan and Lauren; his three brothers Ivan (Mary Agnes), Peter (Brenda) and Francis (Pat) and their families; his sister-in-law Velma KELEHER and brother-in-law Michael CLANCY and their families his special cousins Mitzi CROWE (Fred,) Mary METZ (Harry,) Jean EASTWOOD (Kirby) and their families; and the RADOSTITS clan in Chicago. Otto also leaves many Friends and veterinary colleagues around the world. We all will miss deeply his strong presence, his beautiful loud voice and his challenges. Prayer service will be held at Holy Family Church (110 - 104th Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7N 1M8) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 7 p.m. and the Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 11 a.m. Private family interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Edmonton to be held at a later date. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved mother Noreen Agnes KELLEHER. With her family by her side, Noreen passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2006 in her 87th year. Noreen was a lifelong Londoner who took pride in her city and its people. She retired from the T. Eaton Company as Loss Prevention Manager and continued her active life by volunteering at the Cancer Clinic. She had many lifelong and special Friends who will miss her dearly. Noreen was a devout Roman Catholic growing up in Saint Mary's Parish and raised her young family in faith at Sacred Heart Parish in Delaware. She was a charter parishioner and active member of Saint John the Divine Parish and a sixty-seven year member of the Catholic Women's League. Wife of the late Cletus KELLEHER (1994.) 93 years, of Petrolia, passed away at her residence, on Friday, April▼ 28, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Edward (Ted) BROHMAN (1978.) Dear mother of John BROHMAN and Theresa BENNETT of Vancouver and Mary Ellen BROHMAN and Nicholas MYMKA of Petrolia. Loving grandmother of Jay and Isabella BROHMAN and their mother Holly KELLER of Vancouver. Daughter of the late Effie and Ernest STRONG of Maberly. Dear sister of Irene (the late Robert) KIRKHAM of Perth, Ernestine and Ormand HOPKINS of Ottawa, Willard and Almina STRONG of California, and the late Harold and Dorothy STRONG of Maberly. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Florence had many happy memories of her childhood in Maberly, Ontario. It was during these years, that she developed a strong and enduring bond of love for her family. Being the eldest of five children, she provided inspiration, caring direction and encouragement for her sisters and brothers. In 1935, she graduated with honors from the University of Toronto with a baccalaureate degree in classics and education. She taught secondary school in Ottawa during which time she met her beloved Ted. She also taught in Chatham and Petrolia. She studied art and was an avid and gifted artist of oils and enjoyed travel. She was an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Petrolia and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, a member of the Margaret Stokes Chapter of Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire, the Sarnia/Lambton Retired Teachers of Ontario and Saint Paul's United Church. Above all, her passions were her family -- her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews; and her dear Friends. Cremation has taken place. A service to remember the life of Florence BROHMAN will be announced at a future date. Interment of cremated remains will be in Ayr Cemetery.
