University of Alberta. Barrie had retired from the University
of Manitoba, Dept. of Psychology where he had been the Director
of Student Couselling for many years. Upon retirement, he pursued
his love of travel and reading. His generosity showed itself
in the time spent and the numerous donations to many institutions
including the Association of Community Living in Beausejour,
Manitoba of which he was past Director. Cremation has taken place.

here all his life. He was a retired Lieutenant at the Elgin-Middlesex
Detention Centre, with the Ministry of Correctional Services.
He was a member of Talbot Lodge #546 Ancient, Free and Accepted
Masons. Norm served overseas with the Regina Rifles during World
War 2 and was a member of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where
funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment
to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 2-4 and

Melvin Arthur
HOLDEN in his 86th year. World War 2 veteran (Perth
Regiment) and retiree of 3M Canada where he worked for 44 years
as a varnish maker, silk screener and in maintenance. Mel was
known for his work ethic, family loyalty, his sense of humour
and his mock grouchiness. He was generous to a fault. Mel enjoyed
his mobile home adventures, the History Channel and travelling.

Alma
Alma PENNY passed gently from this world after an arduous illness
on Wednesday, May 17th 2006 at Allendale Long Term Care Facility
surrounded by her children. Alma was born in Great Harwood, Great
Britain on June 24th, 1920. Immigrating to Canada in 1954 she
settled in Scarborough with her husband and family. Alma was
an active member of the Centenary Hospital Auxiliary volunteering
in the Hospital Gift Shop for many years. After moving to Milton,
she became a member of the Milton Seniors Activity Centre and
chaired and organized the popular Milton Seniors "Lunch Brunch".
She also knit and purled her way into Creative Fingers Craft
Club, God bless'um. Alma was predeceased by her husband Joe.
She is survived by her son Tony and his wife Sandra, son Michael
and his wife Karen and daughter Barbara and her husband Laird.
She will be loved and fondly remembered by her grandchildren
Jonathon, Craig and his wife Andrea, David and Lesley, Aaron,

Stan passed away on November 7, 2006 at the age of 68. Stan was
born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in London, Ontario until
1965 then moved his family to Calgary where he owned and operated
Black Gold Printers until his retirement. Stan was well known
in the community and was actively associated with: Associated
Canadian Travelers / United Commercial Travelers being Dominion
President of United Commercial Travelers and First Grand Counselor

Was also an active member of several organizations including

He was a farmer and worked at Imperial for 25 years. Douane enjoyed
wintering in Florida for 24 years. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel
Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral
service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 1: 00 p.m.
