on June 23, 1957. She was an educational assistant with the Thames
Valley Board of Education. A service to celebrate Sally's life
will be held at Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m.
Interment of ashes to follow in Shedden Cemetery. Cremation has
taken place. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined, with remembrances to the
Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Palliative Care Unit) or the
London Regional Cancer Centre.

She was a woman of strength, courage and conviction who lived
her life with immense dignity, benevolence and purpose. A funeral
service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 2 p.m. from
Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave. W. (Between Yonge and
Bathurst). Interment Pardes Shalom Cemetery, B'Nai Torah section.

Charlotte Deacon
ALLEY, in her 90th year, passed away peacefully
on Tuesday December 5, 2006 in Kingston, New York. Charlotte
graduated from Branksome Hall and in 1938 the University of Toronto
with her Bachelor's degree. During World War 2, 1941-45 she worked
for the British Intelligence Department in New York City. In
1945 Charlotte married Doctor John C.
ALLEY and moved to Kingston,
New York to raise her family. Throughout her life Charlotte was
a very active volunteer in her church, serving on many committees
and on the board of the Children's Home during the 1970s. She
enjoyed her swimming, bowling and playing the piano, but most
of all her whole extended family and will be fondly remembered
by her over 100 direct Deacon descendants as "Central Dispatch"
Alley.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Doctor John
ALLEY,
her two daughters Victoria and Elizabeth, her sister Norah, her
seven brothers, Kenneth, Coulter, John, Allin, Fraser, Donald
and Paul DEACON.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Rev. James L.
ALLEY, his wife
Joan and her beloved grandson John, who live
in Port Ewen, New York and by her sister Kathleen
HOFMEYER of
Victoria, British Columbia. A Memorial Service to celebrate Charlotte's
life will be held on Saturday February 3, 2006 at St. Andrews
United Church, 117 Bloor Street, East, Toronto, at 2: 00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers a donation to The Sick Children's Hospital
Foundation on University Avenue, Toronto would be appreciated.

Forces at the age of seventeen and graduated from the first journalism
class at the University of Western Ontario (1948). Jim had a
long and distinguished career in sports journalism and had the
pleasure of covering most major sporting events including; Stanley
Cups, Superbowls, World Series, Olympic Games, Golf Majors and
50 consecutive Grey Cups. He was the recipient of many awards
including the Canadian Football League Commissioner's Award in
recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development
of football in Canada, the Sports Media Canada Achievement Award
(the Canadian Arm of the International Sports Writers Association),
and the Alumni Honour Roll from the Graduate School of Journalism,
University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the Canadian
Football Hall of Fame. He was the author of several books, including
his memoirs "All Work and All Play". Family wish to thank Dr.
Ron TAILOR/TAYLOR for his devoted care, and the current and former staff
of the Toronto Sun Sports Department for their Friendship and
support. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral
Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton
Avenue East), from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, March 13th. A memorial
service will be held on March 14th at 11 o'clock in St. Cuthbert's
