Oshawa General in 1941. She did many years of volunteer work,
particularly Sick Kids Hospital (25 years). She had a life long
love of Bridge playing, many years at the Granite Club and lately
at her residence Lifestyles (Donway). She will be remembered
by all our Muskoka family, many of whom she taught to play tennis.
She loved our cottage at Plum Pudding Point for over 50 years.
Mum, Nanny, Auntie Pat grounded our family. We will miss her,
but must let her go. Friends may call at the Trull 'North Toronto'
Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 2704 Yonge Street (5 blocks

Passed away peacefully on November 13 in his 81st year surrounded
by family. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marjorie
HINTON
and his beloved wife

(ETTINGER) of 54 years, John will
be lovingly remembered by his family: children Janet (David),
Douglas (Carol), Marjorie (John) and Joyce (Jack), grandchildren
Elizabeth, Chantal, Kathleen and John, brother Robert (Betty),
nephew David and niece Jane and their families, as well as other
members of his extended family. John was raised in Peterborough,
Ontario and received a B.A. from the University of Toronto. For
over thirty years, John worked for London Life Insurance Company,
first in Toronto and then in Edmonton where he was Mortgage Manager.
After his retirement he became a commercial real estate agent.
John was an active member of Victoria Village United Church in
Toronto. An accomplished softball pitcher in his youth, he enjoyed
coaching his children's sports teams. In Edmonton he coached
competitive women's softball and hockey. John approached work,
family and community with respect and a sense of humour. His
children and grandchildren remember his patience, kindness and
generosity. John appreciated his Friendships and particularly
enjoyed holidays with his brother Bob and family. He will be
much missed. The family gratefully acknowledges the compassionate
care received by John at Jasper Place Continuing Care Centre.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on
December 9 at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Church 8810 Meadowlark
Road, Edmonton, followed by a reception. The interment will follow
in Ontario at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can
be made in memory of John to a favourite charity or to the Glenrose
Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation for research related to Frontal
