Hal was a student at Vaughan Road Collegiate, and a proud old
boy of Upper Canada College. Following service in Iceland with
the Royal Canadian Air Force, Sonny entered University of Toronto
and was a member of the first graduating class of U of T's School
of Architecture. He loved buildings and boats, drawing and debate,
jazz and playing piano, golf and the cryptic crossword. He was
known to all his children's Friends for sleeping in the living
room and tap dancing in the kitchen, and was waiting for Carnegie
Hall to call about his debut. Hal was a life member of the National
Yacht Club, and a founding member of the Group of Twenty and
Studio 67. Hal will be deeply missed by family and Friends. His
sense of humour and love of a good pun live on in his children
and grandchildren. Visitation at Morley Bedford Funeral Home,

He will be forever remembered by his many nieces and nephews
as "Uncle Jack". John was a resident of Parkwood Hospital for
25 years as a result of a brain injury. A valued employee of
Silverwood Dairies for more than 30 years, John was an outgoing
person who easily gained the respect of his peers. He served
gallantly and courageously in the latter years of World War 2
with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry seeing action
in the Mediterranean and European theater of war. John for many
years was a member of Branch 540 Royal Canadian Legion, Lucan,
Ontario. John's greatest passions were his family, his grandchildren,
fishing, camping, skating, cycling, music, sketching, woodworking
and playing cards. Thanks to all of John's medical team at Parkwood
particularly the nursing staff who's outstanding care and compassion
will never be forgotten. His grand_son Tim recently composed a
poem of Rememberence for his "Grandpa" "I see knowing eyes hidden
behind coke bottle glasses chained by a body that won't respond
I see knowing eyes. I see recognition, hidden masked by frozen
hands and tongue by time restricted by physical ability I see
recognition I feel love, discreetly, ciphered by a touch and
knowing nod There's a spark, unrestrained by disease I feel love"

on Wednesday, December 6 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with funeral
service at 1 p.m. Rev. Charles
SEED officiating. Cremation will
take place with interment at Strathroy Cemetery at a later date.
Donations to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation
would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted as
a living memorial to Mary.
