was the sponsor of Phase 1 "Veteran's Garden" in Victoria Park
which was dedicated on November 4, 2005 to honour all Veterans

lived, spent learning and loving, building and taking joy in

the war he joined the T. Eaton Company where he had a long and
successful career spanning 36 years. Upon mandatory retirement
at the age of 65, he continued to work as a consultant for Eaton's
for an additional ten years. Always an energetic and generous
contributor to many community activities too numerous to list,
he was particularly involved over many years as a director of
Anglican Houses (now Leap of Faith, Toronto Community Services).
His most passionate pursuit was his family and his many close
Friends, a number of whom felt that the affectionate nickname
'Saint Bill' suited him remarkably well. The family thanks the
staff at St. Mike's for the superb treatment Bill received while
in their care. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey
Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south

A pioneering newspaperman, Mark developed Weekend Magazine, and
its French-language counterpart, Perspectives, which together
in the 1960s, reached half of all Canadians in their local weekend
paper. He held managing positions with The Canadian Forum and
was publisher of The Windsor Star and The Montreal Gazette. Mark
leaves a legacy of love.

and one of the longtime residents of Leaside, Toronto. She was
the widow of Harry

Director of Engineering at Ontario
Hydro. Dorothy leaves behind her children, Paul of Washington, D.C.,
and Barbara of Vancouver, British Columbia, and her sister Corinne
HIGGINS of Brockville, Ontario. Dorothy was a beautiful, intelligent,
and very strong woman. She grew up on the St. Lawrence River
in Brockville, where she loved to canoe. Her happiest times as
an adult were spent raising her children and she retained a life-long
delight in young children. She regretted that she never went
to university, and after her retirement from the Borough of East
York, she was an avid participant and loyal volunteer in Later
Life Learning at the University of Toronto, as well as Living
and Learning in Retirement at Glendon College. Dorothy was as
devoted to her family, as they were to her. She never hurt a
fly. Dorothy died of old age at her home, after suffering for
several years from the uneven care provided by the professionals
of the Ontario healthcare system and by the private homecare

Bill▲ grew up in Toronto and lived
there for most of his life. He attended Victoria University at
the University of Toronto, where he met his wife and life companion
Margaret LAVERY.
Upon▲ graduation in 1941, he enlisted with the
Royal Canadian Air Force where he became Squadron Leader and
was awarded the Air Force Cross for distinguished service. After
the war he joined the T. Eaton Company where he had a long and
successful career spanning 36 years. Upon mandatory retirement
at the age of 65, he continued to work as a consultant for Eaton's
for an additional ten years. Always an energetic and generous
contributor to many community activities too numerous to list,
he was particularly involved over many years as a director of
Anglican Houses (now Leap of Faith, Toronto Community Services).
His most passionate pursuit was his family and his many close
Friends, a number of whom felt that the affectionate nickname
"Saint Bill" suited him remarkably well. The family thanks the
staff at St. Mike's for the superb treatment Bill received while
in their care. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey
Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south
of Eglinton Avenue East), from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday,
April 2nd. A private family service will take place on Monday,
April 3rd, following which family and Friends are invited to
celebrate Bill's life at a reception from 4-6 p.m. at the Rosedale
Golf Club, 1901 Mount Pleasant Road. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Leap of Faith, Toronto Community Services, Sick
Children's Hospital Foundation or Saint Michael's Hospital Foundation.
