HEADLEY, Beverley-Ann (July 31st, 1951-December 15th, 2002)
In loving memory of Beverley-Ann HEADLEY.
Bev, I've had many times I can tell you,
Times when loneliness I'd trade for your company,
And children saw me crying, I'd thought I'd had my share of that.
Midnight diamonds stud the heavens,
Southward burning lie the jewels that eye your place,
And warm winds that embrace me, Just as surely kissed your face,
Oh, these miss you nights are the longest.
How I miss you, I'm not likely to tell, I'm a man,
And cold daylight buys the pride I'd rather sell.
All my secrets and dreams are wasted now, You know them well.
Play down all dreams and themes once remembered,
It's just the same, this miss you game,
Yes, these miss you nights are the longest.
I'll always love and remember you.
You're loving husband Rob.
Quietly in our thoughts and prayers every day Mom,
You were so very special and devoted to us,
Your boundless love and teachings,
Will forever be remembered with thanks.
We love you so much.
Your loving sons Andrew and Patrick.

BUELL, Anna (CORTI)
Wife, mother, cook, teacher. Born February 13, 1939, in Asmara, Africa. Died April 23 of breast cancer in Kingston, Ontario, aged 67.
By Ingrid HEADRIK and Rose STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, Page A20
The tiny perfect Italian was the description given of Anna by her husband, Jamie.
Anna was Italian by heritage and Italian in all the wonderful ways that characterize that inheritance. Exuberance, grace, love of beauty, and generosity of spirit enveloped her being and we Friends were blessed by her presence. With these qualities and others she embraced the life that she created.
Anna was born in Asmara, Africa. She was almost a teen when she, her two sisters and mother joined their father in Hamilton, Ontario There she started high school, speaking little English. She excelled. She graduated from the University of Toronto, specializing in French, and began her teaching career at Loretto Academy, where she had first attended school in this country. Soon she married and gave birth to two sons. Her family moved to Sydenham where she taught and inspired many students.
A social outing with Anna always included enthusiastic warm greetings by numerous former graduates. In her final years of teaching she taught French to adults, leaving the textbook to take her students to the bakery, to fine dine, or whatever might enhance their experience.
Anna's second marriage, to Jamie, is a tender love story. She had met him as a young woman when they were both teachers and married to others. Thirty years later, when they were both free, they renewed their Friendship, fell in love and married. They shared much in common. Time was spent antiquing, watching old movies, travelling. They even discovered that they owned the same dishes (Pfaltzgraff, the blue pattern).
January and February were usually spent in a warm climate, learning the history of their destination (never on the tourist track), making Friends of the citizens and exploring old ruins.
Anna had a gift of Friendship. Once you were her friend, you were a friend for life. She always remembered birthdays, gave the perfect gift and always stayed in touch. One gift that many Friends received were Italian chocolates called Baci (kisses). This candy is individually wrapped, with a love message inside, in five languages, four of which she spoke fluently. One friend who was thrilled with the message in her chocolate, which made an accurate prediction, called Anna to tell her about the coincidence. Anna's surprised response was "There are messages inside?" and laughed wholeheartedly.
A remarkable cook, her skills in the kitchen were appreciable. A warm, generous hostess, she excelled and delighted in creating lavish meals to taste with others. She willingly shared her recipes except for her Indonesian peanut sauce, which was given only to her sons. One morning a neighbour received a phone call requesting a meeting at their adjacent balconies, only to find Anna there, handing her a warm croissant.
Anna loved dance and music. One evening in Mexico, she danced the night away. Only upon arriving back at the hotel did she discover that she had been wearing two different coloured shoes.
Her warm, full laugh remains memorable, a testament to a life lived brimming with feeling and bursting with vitality.
Ingrid and Rose are Anna's Friends.

McKEOUGH, Sister Katherine (formerly Sister Angela Felix)
At Ignatia Hall, Mount Saint_Joseph, London on Thursday, April 13, 2006 Sister Katherine McKEOUGH of the Sisters of Saint_Joseph died peacefully at Mount Saint_Joseph on Thursday, April 13, 2006. Along with her Religious Community, she is mourned by her dear sister Patricia HEALEY, her sisters-in-law Frances McKEOUGH and Helen McKEOUGH and her brother-in-law Edmond HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON. She is a well-loved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Katherine is predeceased by her dear mother Katherine DEVLIN, her father Christopher, her sister Mary and her brothers Tim and Chris as well as her brother-in-law Gleeson HEALEY. Most of Katherine's life was spent in hospital ministry as nursing supervisor and psychiatric supervisor at Saint_Joseph's Health Care, London. In the 70's she served as Assistant Executive Director at Saint_Joseph's Health Care, London. One of her gifts to the Sisters of Saint_Joseph and to the larger community was her insistence that relationships were at the heart of the matter in living a life of integrity. She offered unconditional acceptance to many and helped them believe in their own goodness. She had an inquiring mind and was not afraid to explore any question. Her warmth and her generous spirit was obvious. With her gifts of insight into human psychology and her thirst for the Sacred, Katherine was the leader of the Sisters of Saint_Joseph from 1979-1987. After this term of service she lived at 534 Queens Avenue, a home for homeless women and again offered simple Friendship and encouragement to many women.
