Age 84, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, March 11, 2006. Fred was born in England June 20, 1921, a son of the late William and Florence STANFORD. He apprenticed as a watchmaker in England and joined the Royal Air Force where he worked as an Instrument Technician from 1940-1945 in Britain and Gananoque. After the war he immigrated to Canada and worked as a Watchmaker and Jeweler in Saint Thomas and London until his retirement. He lived the past twelve years at Woodland Towers and Spruce Lodge. Beloved husband for 62 years of Maxine (WHALEY.) Loving father of Fred and his wife Ruth, Calgary, John and his wife Brenda, R.R.#2 Baltimore, Michael and his wife Kathy, Wisconsin, Heather and her husband John McCOWAN, Bayfield, Janice and her husband Steve HAYHURST, London. He will be sadly missed by his fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also survived by three brothers and one sister in England. Friends and relatives may call at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 25 St. Andrew Street, Stratford on Tuesday, March 14, from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Rev. Passed away peacefully, at his home, on Thursday, July 20, 2006 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Margaret for 57 years. Loving father of John (Jan), Isobel, and Edward (Cindy). Devoted grandfather "Papa" of Sarah (Mike), Michael, Jennette, Matthew, Philip and step-grandfather of John (Milena and their son Jacob) and Jessica. Born in Lancashire, England, Garth emigrated to Canada in 1957 with his wife and young family. Dad was a longtime member of St. Simon the Apostle Anglican Church. A Chartered Accountant and former administrator of the Ontario Cancer Institute, Princess Margaret Hospital, Garth was an avid and patient golfer who loved music, animals, gardening and sports. Dad had a passionate commitment to family and work; he will be greatly missed. The family will receive Friends at St. Simon The Apostle Anglican Church, 525 Bloor Street East from 1: 00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. John was a past Master of Union Masonic Lodge #380 Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons and a 50 year member, a past First Principal of London Chapter R.A.M., past Preceptor of Richard Couer de Lion Preceptory, and past Provincial Grand Prior Knights Templar. First Grand Master for Canada Allied Masonic Degrees, and a member and officer of other branches of Masonry, a member of Mocha Shrine for over 50 years. He was a past Master of Hackett Loyal Orange Lodge 805, and a past County Master of the Orange Order. A member of Saint Paul's Cathedral and an original member of Server's Guild. He was a Past President and long time Treasurer of the Irish Benevolent Society and recipient of the initial Leprechaun award for devoted service to the Society. In politics he was an active worker and member of the Conservative Party for many years. John will likely be most fondly remembered by the hundreds of couples he married from University Professors to big time lottery winners who can always say they were married by Johnny CARSON, not quite as famous as the retired television personality of the same name. Born in Brugge, Belgium November 12th, 1909. She emigrated to Canada in 1954 and resided in Strathroy for 52 years. She leaves four generations with her daughters Catharina and Roger JORIS of Strathroy, Celina and James SOUTHERN of Kerwood and Mrs. Rose DEBOO- VANDEVELDEN of London. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Belgium. Two grand_sons predecease her (1950) and (1998) as well as 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Of St. Clements, peacefully at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital as the result of kidney cancer at 63 years of age. Ken was the loving devoted husband of Erla (STEPHAN) for 41 years. Dearest and cherished father of Stephen (Lisa) of Chippewa, and Jennifer of Waterloo and her friend Ben HAYNES of Stratford. Survived by his father John FENWICK of Tara, his sister Ruby WATTS of Freelton, and his brother Harvey (Penny) and nephew Stacy (Crystal) all of Owen Sound. Fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Lloyd (Linda) STEPHEN, sister-in-law Isobel (Jeff) PEARSON, and Shirley MARTIN all of Kitchener-Waterloo, and many nieces and nephews and their spouses. Predeceased by one daughter and four sons in infancy (1965-1970), his mother Marie (1986), his niece Marci FENWICK (2006,) and his brother-in-law Wallace WATTS (1995,) and his father and mother-in-law Reinhard and Elsie STEPHAN. Ken was employed by Waterloo Region School Board where he was positioned at Lester B. Pearson School. He was also employed by Cambridge Leaseholds for 19.5 years at Waterloo Town Square and Conestoga Mall. He was also a member of the Canadian Ornamental and Game Bird Association and a member of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church in Heidelberg. He will be fondly remembered by his large circle of Friends. Predeceased by his son Neil (1981,) daughter Janice SMITHSON (2002) and his brothers, Kenneth and Michael. Born March 23, 1914, London, England, Rodney came to Canada in 1929. He worked in the forests and mines of Northern Ontario and served overseas in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a radar technician. Rodney and Gwynneth lived in the farming community near Leaskdale, Ontario, where Rodney established "Haynes Electric", his own electrical contracting business. They moved to Uxbridge in 1996 and then to Lindsay, November 2005. It is with a deep sense of respect and love that we announce the death of our father Ross on Wednesday December 6, 2006, in his ninety-eighth year. Loving husband of the late Kathleen for sixty years. Dear father of Marilyn C.N.D. (Cameroon, Africa), Catherine, Carol, Janice (OMELON) and Mary Jane (COCHRANE). Father-in-law of Doctor Jerry OMELON and Brian COCHRANE. Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 in her 61st year, with family by her side at Scarborough General Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Formerly of Musgrave Harbour, Newfoundland, Marie was predeceased by her father Simeon BEMISTER, her mother Pearl Bemister TULK, sister Florence HAYWARD, brother-in-law Boyd HAYWARD and sister-in-law Irene BEMISTER. Leaving to mourn with precious memories are her loving husband Aubrey and 5 children: Tony (Barb) of Toronto, Ford of Toronto, Rocky (Judy) of St. John's, Newfoundland, Lee of Toronto and Jenny of England. John▼ was an avid sailor and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club where in younger years he spent many summers racing his favourite dinghy, the I14. He had a long career in the printing and paper business where he started Toronto Metropolitan Paper Company Ltd., which he operated successfully for 30 years. He was one of the founders of Holy Trinity School and served as its founding Chair for 10 years. He maintained his interest in the school right to present day and was looking forward to its upcoming 25th anniversary. GARRIOCK, Doctor James, M.D.
Died peacefully on September 14, 2006 at Huronview Home for the Aged in Clinton, Ontario in his 88th year. Survived by his wife Sheila HAYWOOD and three sons, David, Ian, Philip, sister Ruth (Brown) COGHILL and seven grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Robert GARRIOCK, mother May ADSHEAD, sister Hilda, and brother Norn. He was born in Toronto on November 6, 1918, the third child of four. His father originated from the Isle of Sanday, Orkney Islands, Scotland and his mother from Gateshead on Tyne, England. He was a graduate of North Toronto Collegiate Institute and had a short tenure at Hartford Fire Insurance in Toronto. In 1940 he volunteered for war service and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He trained in Clinton, Ontario as a radar technician and was assigned to the South East Asia Theatre stationed in India with the 190th Assault Wing. He flew in Catalina Flying Boats on submarine patrol and convoy escort as well as bombing missions into Burma for which he received The Burma Star. He achieved the rank of Flight Lieutenant. James met his wife Sheila, an Royal Air Force Nursing Sister, while in India and they were married on October 24th 1946 in England. He then attended the University of Toronto Medical School and graduated in 1951. Following graduation he practiced briefly in Copper Cliff, Ontario before moving to Woodbridge where he practiced family medicine for many years serving the village and rural community. During the latter part of his career he practiced in Bolton, Ontario. During his practice years he instructed at the University of Toronto in the Department of Family and Community Medicine as a Senior Staff Family Physician and Clinical Teacher, later being appointed Assistant Professor to the Faculty of Medicine. He was a staff physician at Peel Memorial Hospital, York Finch Hospital and the Etobicoke General Hospital and served as Chief of Staff at Peel Memorial Hospital. For many years he was Coroner for York and Peel Counties retiring in 1974. During the mid 1970's he was the head of the Toronto General Hospital's Emergency Department. He was granted Life Membership to the College of Family Physicians of Canada. James diligently served his profession, community and country and his presence will be greatly missed by his family, Friends and the surrounding community. A memorial service will be held on October 13, 2006 at Woodbridge United Church, Woodbridge, Ontario at 11: 30 a.m. Donations can be made in remembrance of James to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or the Salvation Army.

Peacefully at the Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor at the age of 90 on Friday, January 13th, 2006. Predeceased by first husband Terrance WRIGHT. Survived by dear husband Albert HAYWOOD who lovingly cared for her during their 12 years of marriage and who is still a resident at the Meighen Manor. Also survived by beloved daughter Janice HALL (husband John HALL) of Gravenhurst. Cherished Nana of Lori Natress HURLEY (husband Rick HURLEY) of Toronto and great-grandmother to Kirk and Heidi. Fondly remembered by Albert's children Ellie, Bob, Darlene and their families. A memorial service will be held at the Meighen Manor, 155 Millwood Road, Toronto in the Community Room on Friday, January 20th at 2: 00 p.m. The family is grateful for the care and support of all the Manor staff.
