Passed away Monday, April 10th, 2006 in his 82nd year at the Lion's head Hospital. Beloved husband of Helen (LOWERY/LOWREY/LOWRIE/LOWRY) FORSTER for 60 years. He was the best Dad and husband and will be terribly missed by his whole family which includes his son Brian and Debbie FORSTER of Burlington, daughter Linda and Jim WYONCH of Colpoy's Bay, grandchildren, Cherry and Autumn, Brian and Cam FORSTER and his five great grandchildren. Ray worked in industrial sales for many years in the Hamilton area and he was a World War 2 veteran. He loved fishing and hunting and boating on Lake Huron and cared deeply for his family. A very special thank you to Dr. JANNESON, Doctor THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Doctor WONG. Also to the nurses, Nancy, Linda, Kim, Goldie and Christine for all your kindness, sensitivity and support during this difficult time. Also thanks to Ted and Phyllis HAYES and all the residents of Hayes Crescent Apartments for their caring compassion and support. In honour of Ray's request there will be no funeral services. Formerly of Nova Scotia and Hampton, Ontario he spent the last years of his life in Peterborough where he was a member of Elim Family Worship Centre. Served in the Canadian Army, World War 2, 1940-1946. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Lida at Springdale Country Manor; and his children Stanley (Edie), Airdrie Alberta; Carolyn STURMAN (Reginald), Lindsay, Ontario Randall (Leanne), Penticton, British Columbia; Wendell (Jane), Conestogo, Ontario; Walton (Lisbeth), Beeton, Ontario; Susan HAYES (Ronald,) Hampton, Ontario; also 13 grandchildren (one deceased) and 16 great-grandchildren (two deceased). Beloved husband of the late Mary PHENÉ (née LOCKHART) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on April 14, 2006 in Calgary, Alberta. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters; Nancy (Ross) HAYES, Carol (John) MacLEOD and Jeanne PHENÉ (Lorne COWAN) and by his loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and also by many great Friends at his Fountains of Mission Residence. Bill is predeceased by his wife Mary, son Georges and his sister Alice PHENÉ and brother George. Bill was born on November 22, 1914 in Hankou (Wuhan) China. He grew up in Toronto and attended the University of Toronto in 1938 where he received his Masters of Applied Science (Chemical Engineering). Bill had a passion for pastels, oil painting and enjoyed a good game of golf. A private family service was held in Calgary and Bill will be laid to rest with his loving wife Mary in Toronto, Ontario at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Robert died at home on June 28, 2006 after a long and bravely fought illness. Born on February 9, 1946 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, he spent his formative years in England before returning to Canada in 1973. He was a loving and much loved husband to his wife Janet; proud father of daughter Natasha KOZAK (Wade) and son Stephen HUNTER (Shannon;) and adoring grandfather of Juliet, Harry, Ryan and Teddy KOZAK. He leaves his dear sister Carol HAYES; brother-in-law John; father-in-law Leonard STUBBS and many other relatives all in England. Away from his working life in the financial world, Robert enjoyed music, theatre and good food. He was an enthusiastic and skillful home renovator long before it became fashionable and he loved to travel anywhere, anytime. Passed away peacefully at King City Lodge Nursing Home on July 18 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Lucille for 63 years. Loving father of Brooke (Art HINDLE), Greg (Rose), Randall (Jim POLLOCK), Shawn (Jay HAYES,) Brenley (MAC CONE,) Morgan (Ann,) devoted grandfather of Tara (Randell NEAL,) Todd (Catherine,) Brandon (Erica), Dara, Matthew, Erin (Ian), Taylor, Lauren, Ainsley, Regan, Leighton (Sean), Hayley, Shane and Curtis. Loving Great grandfather of Fraser, Mackenzie, Blake, Colton, Laughlyn and Ella. Fondly remembered by his brother Norman and wife Beth of Waterdown and his nieces Lyn, Rae, Kim and nephews Lee and Drew. Gordon was a veteran of World War 2 and served in the R.C.N.V.R. He was an entrepreneur and had a prolific career in the manufacturing industry and later, the investment business. He was a proud horse owner and breeder of show Hunters and Jumpers. His contribution to the equestrian sport influenced his family's continued participation. Gordon loved sports and was a strong competitive swimmer, a pitcher on a professional baseball team in the 40's. He was an avid golfer having the privilege of being on a team with Arnold Palmer and George Knutson playing for a Shrine Golf Tournament. He was a member of the Masonic Order and The Rameses Shrine. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of Gordon's life will be held at a later date. Always in our thoughts Forever in our hearts.

Born April 11, 1934 in Prince George, British Columbia. Adored husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Fred died on November 7, 2006 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver of complications from myelofibrosis. He is survived by his wife June (BREAULT,) daughter Julie, son Stewart and daughter-in-law Ela, sisters Kay HAYES (Williams Lake) and Agnes HOLECZI (Prince George,) and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and grand-nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. His parents Fritz and Marie (DYCK) and sister Rose WALCHLI predeceased him. Fred graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1960, and went on to a distinguished career as a civil servant, working for the City of Kelowna, City of Prince George, British Columbia Land Department, and for 29 years for the Department of Indian Affairs, of which he was Director General in Alberta and later in British Columbia. Highlights of his career included being made an honourary chief of the Keheewin Indian Band in Alberta in 1976, receiving the Queen's Jubilee medal in 1977, and serving as chief federal negotiator for the Nishga'a land claim for several years before his retirement in 1990. He derived great pleasure coaching the 1984 Forest Hills Little League baseball champions, Stongs; walking his much-loved dogs Nikki, Smokey, and Misha in the Capilano Canyon; and being involved in the Federal Liberal Party, serving as President of the West VancouverSunshine Coast riding association for several years. A life-long student of Canadian history and avid follower of provincial, national, and world politics, Fred loved his beautiful province and country. Please join us to celebrate his life at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14 at Highlands United Church in North Vancouver, 3255 Edgemont Blvd. A private burial will take place earlier that day at Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver. Marie▲ CURTIS was Reeve of the Village Long Branch from 1953-1962, a charter member of the Metropolitan Toronto Council, secretary-treasurer of the Mayors and Reeves of Ontario, Honorary Lifetime Member of the Long Branch Royal Canadian Legion, spokesperson and advisor to members of the Grey County Council in the 1960's and 70's and is best remembered for the City of Toronto Park named in her honour for the support role she played in relief efforts after Hurricane Hazel in 1954. The family will receive Friends at Gentle Shepherd Community Church (8th Concession and Inkerman St.), Eugenia on Tuesday, March 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of the life of Marie Curtis will be held at the church on Wednesday, March 15 at 1: 00 p.m. Interment Markdale Cemetery. At his home in Peterborough on Sunday, March 12, 2006. Doctor Doug MAGEE of Peterborough, formerly of Chandos Lake and Toronto, in his 81st year. Doug was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War 2 and received his doctorate at the University of Toronto in 1953. Beloved husband of Rene (ROSS.) Dear brother-in-law of Dorothy ROSS. Uncle▲ of Carolynn WATSON (Bill) and children Alanna and Ross, Alexis HAYES (Michael▲) and children Lindsay and Brent and Michelle ROSS (Michael▲) and their child Danna. Peacefully, at Providence Healthcare in Scarborough, on March 11, 2006, in her 78th year, after a lengthy illness. Cherished sister to Nora BAKER, Robert BURROWS, May HAMLETT, and Sheila PINK. Loving mother to Kevin, Douglas, and Patric. Proud grandmother to Alexandra and Eric. Dear mother-in-law to Grace HUBBARD, Wendy HAYES and Pat TOMS. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family, Friends and neighbours. Predeceased by husband John HUBBARD, brother Sydney BURROWS and parents Samuel and Marguerite BURROWS. Devoted to family life and community service, and admired for her passion in painting, poetry, and gardening. Many thanks to all healthcare professionals enlisted in her courageous struggle with cancer and diabetes. Honouring her request, there is no service. Cremation has taken place. Private interment to be held later this spring at Saint Margaret in the Pines Cemetery, Scarborough.
