Randy was born in the Netherlands and emigrated
to Canada with his family in 1948, eventually settling in the
Stratford area. After graduating from the University of Guelph,
Randy worked in Horticultural Research in Guelph and Simcoe for
almost 30 years, retiring in 1997. As well, he owned and operated
Baker Greenhouses for 26 years. Over the years, Randy has been
associated with many groups and organizations but since his retirement
he has concentrated his time and energy to the Long Point Branch
of the Ontario Institute of Agrologists and to the Waterford
Lions Club where he is the Past President. Cremation has taken
place but family and Friends are invited to a visitation at the
Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford on Friday, July 7th, 2006
from 7-9 p.m. Lions Service to take place at 6: 30 p.m. A Memorial

and Canada Post. He was a member of the Downs Golf Club, Seniors
Curling Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 55, and Central
United Church. Heartfelt thanks to the medical staff on the 4th floor
of Woodstock General Hospital and our wonderful Friends. Friends
will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington
Street North, Woodstock Friday, October 20, 2006, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

siblings his sister Audrey and brother Sydney. He was the youngest
son of Sydney and Hilda
GRAFTON. He was a member of the R.C.H.A.
Regiment. He graduated with a doctorate in Medicine from McGill
in 1953. He was a practicing physician for over 30 years; starting
in Hamilton, eventually moving to rural Ontario to enjoy his
life as a country doctor. Dad inspired all of us to give back
to the community and to be involved in our world as he was; through
his involvement with the church, Scouts Canada, Big Brothers
Association, the Literacy Counsel as well as numerous charitable
organizations. In his spare time he organized a brass band in
Harriston as well as being an active member of the horticultural
societies in Durham and Harriston, creating parklands in both
communities. Dad tried to make the world a better place by example
and deed alike. He was charitable and offered a helping hand
to any in need. He was a true Christian in all ways and lived
by his beliefs. He will be missed by all who crossed his path.
In respect of his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration
of Ian's life will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Durham
on Sunday, October 15th at 3 p.m. and
at St. George's Anglican
Church, Harriston on Saturday, October 21st at 1 p.m. In lieu
of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the
Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

He was predeceased by Jitka, the mother of his children and two
siblings his sister Audrey and brother Sydney. He was the youngest
son of Sydney and Hilda
GRAFTON. He was a member of the R.C.H.A.
Regiment. He graduated with a doctorate in Medicine from McGill
in 1953. He was a practicing physician for over 30 years; starting
in Hamilton, eventually moving to rural Ontario to enjoy his
life as a country doctor. Dad inspired all of us to give back
to the community and to be involved in our world as he was; through
his involvement with the church, Scouts Canada, Big Brothers
Association, the Literacy Counsel as well as numerous charitable
organizations. In his spare time he organized a brass band in
Harriston as well as being an active member of the horticultural
societies in Durham and Harriston, creating parklands in both
communities. Dad tried to make the world a better place by example
and deed alike. He was charitable and offered a helping hand
to any in need. He was a true Christian in all ways and lived
by his beliefs. He will be missed by all who crossed his path.
In respect of his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration
of Ian's life will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Durham
on Sunday, October 15th at 3 p.m. and
at St. George's Anglican
Church, Harriston on Saturday, October 21st at 1 p.m. In lieu
of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the
Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
