It is with profound sadness that the family of Ron LITCHFIELD announces his peaceful passing at home on Saturday, March 18th, 2006. Born in Utterson, Ontario on July 5, 1931, he was the beloved husband of nearly fifty years to Diane (née KELLOCK.) Wonderful father to Kathy GROH, John (Laura), Doug (Karen) and Bob (Mandy) LITCHFIELD. Devoted and loving grandfather to Trevor and Steven GROH, Kyle, Carly, Scott, Sarah, Tom, Hannah, Meghan and Claire LITCHFIELD. Ron is survived by his brother Bob (Evelyn) of Manitoba and his sister-in-law Estelle. Predeceased by brother Bruce and sister Ruth FENDLEY (Bob.) Mother, 2 children shot dead, father arrested following chase

Aurora -- Two young siblings and their mother were found shot to death in their home yesterday and her recently estranged husband was arrested following a dramatic high-speed pursuit.
York homicide detectives haven't revealed the identities because kin haven't been found, but Friends and co-workers identified the victims as Wendy LAFLECHE, 41, her son Jesse, 3, and daughter Victoria, 7.
Wendy LAFLECHE's son from another relationship, Devon BRISBOURNE, 16, a student at Aurora secondary school, wasn't at home at the time of the killings. Police had been concerned for his safety yesterday morning until he was found safe.
A police source said the suspect called police about the slayings about 6: 50 a.m. and he was spotted in an Chrysler Intrepid, which he recently bought from a neighbour, at Jane Street and Highway A pursuit reaching speeds of as much as 170 km/h involving almost two dozen York and Ontario Provincial Police cruisers ensued north on Highway 400, where the suspect was allegedly seen waving a gun out the window.
Police used spike belts to flatten its tires before the car was boxed in north of Duckworth Street. It appeared the car was peppered with shotgun pellets.
The suspect wasn't injured and was arrested without incident. He was taken to York's 1 District on Prospect Street to speak with homicide detectives.
Charges were not filed against John LAFLECHE, 40, a former long-haul trucker, as of yesterday afternoon. He is known to police in connection with robbery convictions and was last arrested in 1992 for an armed heist of a Vaughan gas station while on parole.
Const. Laurie PERKS said the suspect is the father of the two young children and Wendy LAFLECHE's husband.
The forensic examination of the scene was stalled as detectives spent most of the day preparing a warrant to enter the two-storey white clapboard home with green trim.
Official information was scarce yesterday.
"As you can appreciate, it is two children and their mother&hellip It is just tragic and the officers had a difficult time with that scene," PERKS said.
It's the second incident within four days where young children were killed in York Region. On Thursday, Renu ELANGO, 2, and her three-month-old sister, Movlika, were found dead in their Markham bathtub with their mother, suffering from self-inflicted wounds. Sivananthi ELANGO, 30, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Wendy LAFLECHE was a hairdresser and assistant manager at First Choice Haircutters on Bayview Avenue in Aurora, where she worked for three years.
Amanda ALLEN, the salon's manager and a close friend of LAFLECHE, said the victim's husband had moved out of the house at 15407 Yonge St. about a month ago.
"She was a great person. She'd do anything for you," said a shaken ALLEN.
Grisly New Year
It's been a particularly gruesome new year for domestic violence in the Greater Toronto Area:
- March 2: The lifeless bodies of three-month-old Movlika ELANGO and her two-year-old sister, Renu, were found in a tub with their mother -- who was also critically injured with self-inflicted wounds -- at a house in Markham. The mother, Sivananthi ELANGO, 30, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
- February 9: The partially decapitated bodies of Shao-Sang LIANG, 38, her daughter, Vivian Yuen-Yee CHAU, 3, and her son, Ian CHAU, five months, were found in the basement of their bungalow near Victoria Park and Finch avenues. LIANG's common-law husband, Huc Minh CHAU, 40, faces three counts of first-degree murder
- February 9: A 31-year-old woman was stabbed twice at a plaza by the GO station in Ajax. Police credit bystanders with saving the woman's life. Her estranged spouse, 37, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. Police would not release his name in order to protect the victim's identity.
- January 26: Rose BOROJA, 54, of Markham, was found strangled in her daughter's Toronto home, where she was babysitting her two-year-old grand_son. Her husband, Pero BOROJA, 70, is charged with second-degree murder.

WILSON, J. Kerr
On June 11, 2006, Kerr Wilson beloved husband of Thelma passed away peacefully, at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg at the age of 89 years. Kerr was renowned for his warm, rich baritone voice heard frequently on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation from Winnipeg. He was the soloist on many radio programs including 'Prairie Schooner ', 'Polka Party', 'Curtain Melodies', 'Cross Country Matinee' and was featured regularly on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation network in the popular television series 'Happy Land'. An outstanding event for Kerr and Thelma was the honour of giving a Command Performance for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at Government House during their visit to Winnipeg in 1959. Kerr's personality has been described as 'competent, genial and atempermental' (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Times). A loving and devoted husband and father he will be dearly missed by his family and a host of Friends. Died on Sunday, November 19, 2006. Beloved husband of Margaret and father of William (May). Born in Brantford, Ontario in 1918. Predeceased by his wives Ruth PACKENHAM (1952) and Doris Pauline CAMPBELL (1990,) and by his brothers John, George and Charles. His death is grieved by his brothers and sisters, William (Jean), James (Betty), June BIRKETT, Francis (William) BOYD, Ruth (Sandy) WEBSTER, and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was the loving stepfather of Margaret's children, Janet, Nancy, and Eleanor, and loved grandfather of her seven grandchildren. Gordon graduated from University of Western Ontario in 1939 Honour Maths and Physics and later, Teachers College. After teaching a few years, he went overseas with the Canadian Fire Fighters in Great Britain. While there he transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force. Returning to Canada, he taught mathematics in Etobicoke high schools for many years. He was active in his church and enjoyed traveling. It is with great sadness, but with joy for a life well lived, that the family announces the passing of Phyllis CARTWRIGHT, in her 91st year, on Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington. Phyllis was a woman of great faith and walked with God her entire life. Predeceased by her husband Goldie, her brothers John and Shirley, her sisters Dorothy WRIGHT and Frances FENNELL. Fondly remembered by her sisters Amy ROCHON (Russell,) Olive TYERS (Stephen,) Sylvia ROCHON (late Philip,) Irene JOHNSON (Bryan) and brothers Bill (Grace,) Fred (Jessie) and sisters-in-law Joyce MOIR, Lillian EATON and Leila KINGSTON. She was the beloved aunt of 34 nieces and nephews. Phyllis started her teaching career in a one room school in Zimmerman (North Burlington), when a teacher's duties included making lunch for all of the students. Phyllis then taught Grade One at Strathcona Public School for decades. Many of her former students will recall saving their wiggly baby teeth for Mrs. CARTWRIGHT to pull out in a ceremony "over by the window where it never hurts". It is with sorrow and sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved Gordon CLIFFORD, who passed away on Sunday March 12, 2006 at the Seven Oaks Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Gordon was predeceased by his father, Johnston Samuel CLIFFORD. Gordon will be deeply missed by his many Friends and family including his close companion Gertrude MEIER, his children Charmaine LANG of British Columbia. Dan (Cindy) CLIFFORD of Saskatchewan. and Monty (Heather) CLIFFORD of Saskatchewan. and their mother Audrey CLIFFORD of Saskatchewan. his grandchildren: Candace, Jilleen, Spencer, Courtney, Chelsey, Brandon and Shaylyn, his mother, Doris CLIFFORD of Ontario., brother Garfield (Marion) of Ontario, sisters Carol TRENT of British Columbia and Pauline (Ron) FENTON of Ontario. As well as Gertrude's sons Robert KOPTON and Jurgen KOPTON (dtr. Allysen.) As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gord started his career with the Military Provo Core in Ontario; he went on to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Regina where he started his family. Gord moved back to WaWa, Ontario with the local police service where he continued in law enforcement for 3 more years. Gord spent the last 38 years with the Teamster's Union starting as a truck driver and worked his way up to becoming the President of the Local Union 979 in Winnipeg. Gord was also a 46-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as a member of the John Osborn Unit #1 Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada. Gordon lived life to the fullest he had a love for the outdoors were he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most important to Gord was his close Friends and family who he always made time for. The family wished to extend their deepest gratitude to all the special Friends and family who visited Gord over the past 3 weeks. The family also wishes to thank, Doctor Martens, Dr. Wilson and the 5th floor nursing staff unit 1 at the Seven Oaks Hospital for the excellent care and compassion given to Gord during his stay. A Celebration of Gordon's life will be held at 10: 00 a.m. on Friday March 17, 2006 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Winnipeg, Manitoba. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Age 89, peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, in his own room in Veteran's L Wing, July 1, 2006. Predeceased by sister Peggy MAYNARD, brothers Leo Francis, F/O William Eugene, L.A.C. Paul Roger and Father Ted, C.S.B. Survived by sisters Catherine and Joanne and many nephews and nieces in Toronto and Irving, Texas. Private interment family plot Mount Hope Cemetery. During 5 years of long term care, Tom received outstanding professional and personal care particularly from Doctor S. FRYDRYCH, Carshena FENTON and Sandi Beach McLEAN and Eleanor MANANKEL.

Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre - Veterans Residence, on Wednesday, September 13, 2006. Loving husband to Flora (née FORBES.) Cherished father to Nancy PICKEN (Tim,) and Paula THRALL. Remembered by sister-in-law Ethel FENTON. Predeceased by son-in-law Brent, brothers Richard and Johnny and sister Edie. Funeral service to be held at Toronto Necropolis Chapel, 200 Winchester Street, Toronto at 5: 30 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2006. Lou's love for Muskoka would be honoured by donations to the Oxtongue Firefighters Association, c/o Scott HAYDEN, Blue Spruce Inn, R.R.#1, Dwight, Ontario, P0A 1H0.

Peacefully at home on Saturday, March 25, 2006, with family at his side. President of Anomet. Loving husband of Christine (nee FENTON.) Dearly loved father of Derek and his wife Dianna, Michael and his wife Francis, stepfather to Mark and his wife Yarow. Much loved Grandpa of Austin and Ty. Peter will be greatly missed by his brother Paul and wife Loretta and his nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by his many Friends. Family and Friends will be received at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre - Mississauga (1535 South Gateway at Dixie Rd., 905-602-1580) on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. Cremation. If so desired, donations to the Credit Valley Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
