Mother of Tammy DONER (Al TAILOR/TAYLOR) of Southampton, Linda Trafelet GOODMAN (Don) of Guelph and Bruce TRAFELET (Mandy) of Southampton. Proud grandmother of Shawn, Lise and Tyson. Shirley is also survived by her sisters, Betty and Marg and brother, Crawford as well as many nieces and nephews. Long time friend of Bev and Ralph SHULAR. Former wife of Thomas TRAFELET of Southampton. Predeceased by her infant daughter Theresa, granddaughter Christine and her parents, Malcolm and Laura (MARTIN) McNEIL. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, April 1st, 2006 from 1: 00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Walker House (146 High St.) Southampton. Marion taught at the elementary school level and was the first Principal of Northdale Public School London in the 1950's. She retired as a Resource teacher from Centennial Central, Arva. Marion served on many volunteer organizations including the Middlesex County Library Board, Thorndale Women's Institiute, Middlesex Elgin Hereford Association, Victorian Order of Nurses Homme Program, Zion United Church Women and O.A.S.W.T. Has returned to God's care after a courageous battle with lung cancer on April 5, 2006. Retired firefighter of 30 years with Scarborough Fire Department. Dan leaves behind his precious wife of 52 years, Patricia, his children, Dan Jr. and Heather Lea, grand_sons, Josh, Jake and great-grand_son, Tyler. Dan is survived by his older brother, Murray and his wife Cynthia and his sister Jean and her husband Al. Dan leaves countless Friends and relatives that have been a great support system. The family is extremely grateful to the Hospice of Windsor/Essex County who made it possible for a dignified death at home, and Community Care Access Centre for the fantastic nurses and homecare Personal Support Workers. Dan loved all of you and the care you gave to him. Cremation has taken place. Passed away in his home in West Vancouver on December 26, 2006. Left to miss him are daughter, Nanci DONOHUE of California, daughter Sandra SANDER of West Vancouver, son James HULL of Victoria, and their mother Bonnie. He is survived by his beloved partner, Ursula VERTONE of West Vancouver. Bob was tremendously proud of his 10 grandchildren, Devon, Shayna, Shellbee, Hailey, Brayden, Kaid, Tyra, Milan, Troy and Jayme. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Joyce LOW/LOWE/LOUGH, Marilyn STRADECKI and Tom HULL of Saskatchewan. Bob served the public and police community for 42 years. He proudly served the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 25 years retiring from E Division as a Staff Sgt. Bob continued his commitment to the police community for an additional 17 years as Director of the Police Academy, Justice Institute. Bob was a founding father of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Emergency Response Team team. Not only did he change the face of policing in Canada he touched many lives in a profound way. He led by an example of excellence, was a leader, a teacher, and a force to be reckoned with. Family was foremost to Bob, and he was a loyal friend. He saw the best in everyone and every situation. Incredible sense of humour, quick wit, integrity, strength of character, compassion and dedication - these were synonymous with Bob HULL. Those who knew him will remember the many 'Hullisms' that made us all smile. The world was a better place with him in it. Bob will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at the Justice Institute of British Columbia, 715 McBride Blvd, New Westminster, British Columbia at 1: 00 p.m. January 6th 2007. Born June 23, 1927, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2006. Loving husband of 56 years to Ruth (ORMSBY) and father of Janet MITCHELL, Carol CRUDEN and Mary CRUDEN. He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Helen "Sis" ANDERSON, Barbara COUPAL, his brother Bill CRUDEN, sons-in-law, Lorne MITCHELL, Bob FRASER and Peter DONOLO and his grandchildren, Christopher, Erik, Michele and Jonathan ROTOLO, Jody and Adam MITCHELL and Annie, Maggie and Michael DONOLO. Joe was born and lived in Toronto his entire life except for a four year posting in Montreal. He was strongly committed to his community and his country. He worked for Bell Canada for 40 years and in retirement, started a second career as a professional fundraiser. Joe received the 20 year service medal from the Boy Scouts after serving as a Scouter and District Commissioner during the 1950's and 60's. In 1965, he was elected as a trustee and vice-chair of the Etobicoke Board of Education. In the mid 60's, he began his long career in the Liberal Party - an extended family in which he was for decades a respected fundraiser and organizer (including his adventures as an advance man for Pierre Trudeau in the 1968 election). Joe became President of the Toronto and District Liberal Association in 1970 and of the Liberal Party of Ontario in 1972. He ran twice as a Liberal candidate: in the 1975 provincial election in York West and in the 1980 federal election in Etobicoke Centre. Joe served on the board of Runnymede Chronic Care Hospital and was a steward for 40 years at Kingsway Lambton United Church. He was active in the Art Gallery at Harbourfront, the Etobicoke Historical Society, the United Way of Toronto, the Donwood Institute, the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy and as a volunteer advisor on fundraising to over a hundred charitable and arts organizations. Joe was a longtime Kiwanian, serving as Lieutenant Governor of Eastern Canada and the Caribbean and as President of the Kiwanis Club of Toronto. His lifelong passion for jazz led him to be a founding member of the Classic Jazz Society of Toronto and to enjoy many visits to New Orleans, Grossman's, the Collector's Congress and Sam's. In 2002, Joe's outstanding service to the community was recognized with the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. For the past year, Joe faced the difficulties of dementia with loving support from his family, Friends and the caring staff at Kensington Gardens. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Bill GOLEM of Hanover, Rick GOLEM of Elmwood, Rob PARSONS and his wife Joeline of Ingersoll, Lisa PARSONS and Wajid HODA of Bunbury, Australia and his three month old great-grand_son Willy PARSONS. Predeceased by three brothers Norman, Clarence and Elmer. Harvey and Mary operated the general store at Dobbinton Corner from 1945-1968. When he moved to Owen Sound he worked for McArthur and Reilly for 12 years. After he retired he continued to help his dear friend Effie (BURKHOLDER) HEMSTOCK in her drapery business. Harvey loved to play and repair violins. He was the oldest current member of the Merry Music Makers. He was blessed to have many neighbours, Friends and family watching over him. He will be missed. World War 2 veteran (Perth Regiment) and retiree of 3M Canada where he worked for 44 years as a varnish maker, silk screener and in maintenance. Mel was known for his work ethic, family loyalty, his sense of humour and his mock grouchiness. He was generous to a fault. Mel enjoyed his mobile home adventures, the History Channel and travelling. Predeceased by his wife Verlyn (JUDD,) son Robert and brother Birge. Survived by daughters Valerie, Sara (Mark), brother Allan Ireland (Diane) and sister Phyllis DONOVAN.
