DONALDSON, Eldora
In loving memory of a dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Eldora DONALDSON, who passed away one year ago today, January It's the small day to day things that make a life of memories. Mom loved to play cards and we miss- hours of playing "Spite and Malice" and Texas Hold'em where she "kept us honest", always stayed in to "see the river" and a "check, raise" would always be wrong. Her great grandchildren loved to play "Seven's" especially when she let them keep her winnings. We enjoyed many trips to Niagara Falls and Sarnia where the Blazing Seven's always paid off and happiness truly was yelling "Bingo". Mom loved to watch television and had many favourites- Doug misses watching all the television judge shows, in particular "Judge Judy", all her cooking shows and every episode of "Law and Order" (including all reruns). Mom had a passion for reading and we have inherited this love. This Christmas was not the same- who would break the bread for dressing (we had so much leftover this year without the dressing bandit), who would make the gravy and the rum sauce for the pudding. Curlers, tennis players (especially Venus and Serena) and many favourite figure skaters lost their biggest fan. Her determination (or stubbornness) to keep going even though most days were difficult and exhausting will always be admired. Mom, we miss you every day. Love, Geri, Janice, Larry and families.

DONALDSON, Joan Marsha (April 23, 1946-September 8, 2006)
Joan passed away in peace September 8 at Victoria, British Columbia. Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Marshall and Dorothy (LEE) DONALDSON of Toronto; dearly loved by her sister Lynne Margaret, brother-in-law Eric HANCOCK and niece Chris and by Jeffrey and Daryl GELGOOT and their families. Joan had a stellar career in journalism cut short by an accident in 1990. Following the death of her mother in 1999, Joan and her father joined her sister and her family in Victoria. Living in residential care and challenged by the outcome of the accident, Joan continued to love life and shared her joy and humour with those around her. She will be deeply missed by her Friends across Canada, her cousins, and all those in Victoria who were privileged to know her. Joan's family are most grateful to the staffs of Mount Saint Mary Hospital and the former Gorge Road Hospital. In particular we are indebted to the team of Hope House, her physicians, and her therapists for the loving care they gave Joan. Friends are asked to join in a celebration of Joan's life on Monday, October 2, 2-4 p.m., at McMorran's Beach House, 5109 Cordova Bay Road, Victoria. To honour Joan, donations may be made to the Mount Saint Mary Hospital Foundation, 861 Fairfield Road, Victoria, British Columbia V8V 5A9.
