Entered Eternal Life on January 11, 2006 in Chatham, Ontario. She was born in Lockport, New York in 1921, the daughter of the late Louis R. and Florence (KELLY) DESMARTEAUX. She entered the Ursuline Religious of the Diocese of London in 1942. During those years she served the Ursuline Community as a nurse at "The Pines", London, Calgary, Drumheller and Windsor. Sister was Pastoral Visitor in Edmonton from 1979-1984 and then returned to Glengarda, Windsor and worked as a Pastoral Visitor at the Windsor Western Hospital. Sister Veronica moved to Chatham in 1995. She is survived by siblings Louis DESMARTEAUX and Anne Louise TINDALL. Sister is predeceased by a brother Louis (Bud) and twin sister Justine, and step-mother Anne DESMARTEAUX. Relatives and Friends are invited to join the Ursline Community at a prayer service to be held on Thursday, January 12 at 7: 00 p.m. in the Holy Family Chapel at "The Pines" Chatham. The family announces with sorrow of his death on July 10th, 2006, Mr. Alphonse BLAIN of London, formerly of Timmins at the age of 90. He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline BLAIN. Loving father of Charlotte (David) McLEAN and Jerome BLAIN. Proud grandfather of Catherine and Paul McLEAN. Dear brother of Janet CHAPMAN. Predeceased by his parents Rose-de-Lima BLAIN (BÉRUBÉ) (1916) and Sigefroy BLAIN (1942) and his sisters, Thérèse DENIS and Rose-de-Lima DESNOYERS. He is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law. Mr. BLAIN was a veteran of World War 2 as a Corporal in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He has been a continuing member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 88) in Timmins. Earlier in his life, he had a successful career in sales. For 22 years he worked as comptroller for CFCL Radio and Television and was co-owner of Eddy Office Supply for several years in Timmins. He then returned to sales until his retirement at the young age of 78. Visitation will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, (2 blocks north of Oxford), on Friday from 2: 00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7: 30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Communauté Sainte-Marguerite-d'Youville, 920 Huron Street, London, on Saturday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date. Mrs. Tessa MUNRO (née WILKES,) age 47, life long resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in St. Josephs Hospice after a courageous battle against cancer due to second hand exposure to asbestos. Her family and closest Friends surrounded her at her side. Tessa was foremost a family person who devoted herself to her family and Friends. While raising a family, Tessa assisted her husband, David, in building his business. Over the years Tessa enjoyed gardening, travel, family vacations, summer dinners on the deck of her home, bingo and her scratch tickets. Tessa especially loved to spend time with her children and granddaughter. Tessa will be sadly missed by her husband of 24 years, David; sons Colin and Christopher; daughter Kaitlin; and granddaughter Melanie (all living in Thunder Bay). She is also survived by her brothers: Arthur WILKES, David WILKES, Warren (Marie) WILKES, all of Thunder Bay, Kenneth WILKES (Edmonton;) her sisters Caren SLADE and Myrna (Milan) BENKA of Thunder Bay; mother-in-law, Patricia MUNRO of Mississauga; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Ernie) CAVILLIN, Karen (Joe) DESOUSA, Susan CHAPMAN, all of Mississauga; brothers-in-law Dennis (Debbie) MUNRO, British Columbia, and Rick (Diane) MUNRO, California, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Tessa also leaves behind many life long Friends and her loving and faithful companion, her dog Rufus. Her parents Charles and Edna WILKES; brother Lawrence WILKES; father-in-law Mike MUNRO and her dearest friend Jessie PHAIR predeceased Tessa. A short Celebration of Tessa's Life with 50's and 60's music will be held at 11: 00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18th, followed by a luncheon at the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario. At Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Chatham, on Monday, June 26, 2006. Roland BELANGER, age 87, husband of the late Yvonne (TRUDELL) (1960), was born in Chatham in 1919. A devoted father, he will be sadly missed by his children; Chuck and wife Elaine of London, Claire VICKERY and husband Dan of Dorchester, Denise DESROCHERS and husband Denis of Mississauga, Louise AITKEN and husband Dan of Pain Court, Marie Hélène CADOTTE of Chatham, Jacqueline "Jackie" CROW and husband Brian of Pain Court, and Diane BELANGER and companion Jim BRINTNELL of London. He will be lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Alma (CARON) BELANGER and his 3 brothers Norman, Gerald and Leonard. Despite being left a widower with a young family, he managed with the help of family to keep his children together and continue to farm successfully with his brothers. Thanks to his grand_son Chuck BELANGER Jr. and his wife Kathy, he was able to live in his own home in Pain Court until very recently. Roland served as the French Language representative for the Kent County School Board for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Daughter of Andre DESROSIERS of Quebec, and the late Louise (CASTONGUAY) DESROSIERS. Dearly missed by Mark's family including his father Ron DEICHERT of Stratford, his mother Judy DEICHERT of London, his brother Paul DEICHERT of New Zealand, and many family and Friends in Ontario. Also sadly missed by her Quebec family; uncles Michel CASTONGUAY, Pierre (Soheir) CASTONGUAY, cousins, Elyane (Mario) CASTONGUAY and their children Manuelle and Raphael, and cousin Mario CASTONGUAY, as well as by her good Friends and co-workers in London. Of Saint Thomas, on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family in his 69th year. Dearly loved husband of Patricia Ann (HILL) CHATTEN and loved father of Dawn and her husband Rob DESROSIERS of Saint Thomas, Jeff and his wife Shawna CHATTEN of Saint Thomas and Debbie CHATTEN and her partner Brian NORTH of Wallacetown. Loved grandfather of Michael, Bryan, Jordon, Josh, Ella and Ben. Archie was born in London on October 30, 1938 the son of the late Frank and his wife Sarah (GILCHRIST) CHATTEN. He was a supervisor at Gentek and worked there over 45 years. Archie helped organize the No-Body Contact Hockey League in Port Stanley. Visitation at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Archie's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation, with burial of ashes in the family plot of Elmdale Cemetery.
