Dear brother-in-law of Les, Gwen and Gloria DARCH. Loved uncle of Ab COX (Marion,) Peter COX (Heather,) LeeAnne HOUSE (Danny,) David DARCH and great-uncle to fourteen nieces and nephews. As a young man he trained in Flint, Michigan for his career in General Motors. His passion was golf. He was a long time member of the Oshawa Golf Club. Many thanks to the caring and kind caregivers his nephew Peter and wife Heather, his friend and neighbour Mary HASIUK and her children, and the staff at Hillsdale Manor. Passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at age 60 at the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich. Loving husband of Rosemary (née WILD;) devoted father to Sheila and Ian of Toronto, Bryan and Melanie of Niagara Falls; proud grampy to Ben; caring son to Leona and the late Franklin CORRIVEAU of Windsor; supportive son-in-law to Anne and Jim DEVEREAUX of Goderich and the late John WILD; dear brother of Joe and Regina CORRIVEAU of Windsor, John and Lucille CORRIVEAU of Windsor and Joanne and Brian SMITH of Orangeville; respected brother-in-law to Barbara DESJARDINS of Goderich, Joe and Darlene WILD of Bayfield, Wendy and the late Peter WILD of Bayfield, Theresa WILD and Rick DENYS of Kippen and Pat and Cathy WILD of London. He fought a courageous battle with colon cancer. Don will be missed by many and remembered for his love for family, Friends, travel, food, euchre, music and dancing. An active member in the community, he volunteered with the Big Brothers of North Huron and Bluewater Youth Centre, where he was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year. He was entrepreneur with Don's Shoe Place and one of State Chemical's top salesman, even during his illness. Don was also a member of the Goderich Knights of Columbus. Anne Whyte (née SADLER) passed away peacefully at the Beverly Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta, on Thursday, March 9, 2006. Born July 8, 1920 in Toronto, Ontario, Anne spent eighty years in Toronto before moving to Calgary in 2000. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty years, James Edward (Ted), who passed away on the exact same day in 1994. Lovingly remembered by daughter Suzanne and husband Jack KENNEDY (Leroy, New York,) daughter Maureen WHITE/WHYTE and partner Maureen McKENNA (Kingston, Ontario), and son Robert and wife Sally (Calgary). Anne will be sadly missed by grandchildren Shannon (Noel) RUTHERFORD, Connecticut Sean (Laura) KENNEDY, North Carolina; Adam and Brad WHITE/WHYTE, Calgary and her great-grandchild Nick, Connecticut. Pam (darling "Pookie") was the daughter of Charles F.S. TIDY and the late Diana Saunders TIDY. Dear sister of Christopher C.S. TIDY and Elizabeth Ann (David EVELYN,) and aunt of Alexandra Mary TIDY and Jennifer Charlton TIDY. Pam will be sorely missed by many Friends in Canada and the United States. Pam will be remembered for her style, grace and flair, and for the love, Friendship and compassion she showed to all who knew her. She lived everyday to the fullest. The tiny perfect Italian was the description given of Anna by her husband, Jamie.
Anna was Italian by heritage and Italian in all the wonderful ways that characterize that inheritance. Exuberance, grace, love of beauty, and generosity of spirit enveloped her being and we Friends were blessed by her presence. With these qualities and others she embraced the life that she created.
Anna was born in Asmara, Africa. She was almost a teen when she, her two sisters and mother joined their father in Hamilton, Ontario There she started high school, speaking little English. She excelled. She graduated from the University of Toronto, specializing in French, and began her teaching career at Loretto Academy, where she had first attended school in this country. Soon she married and gave birth to two sons. Her family moved to Sydenham where she taught and inspired many students.
A social outing with Anna always included enthusiastic warm greetings by numerous former graduates. In her final years of teaching she taught French to adults, leaving the textbook to take her students to the bakery, to fine dine, or whatever might enhance their experience.
Anna's second marriage, to Jamie, is a tender love story. She had met him as a young woman when they were both teachers and married to others. Thirty years later, when they were both free, they renewed their Friendship, fell in love and married. They shared much in common. Time was spent antiquing, watching old movies, travelling. They even discovered that they owned the same dishes (Pfaltzgraff, the blue pattern).
January and February were usually spent in a warm climate, learning the history of their destination (never on the tourist track), making Friends of the citizens and exploring old ruins.
Anna had a gift of Friendship. Once you were her friend, you were a friend for life. She always remembered birthdays, gave the perfect gift and always stayed in touch. One gift that many Friends received were Italian chocolates called Baci (kisses). This candy is individually wrapped, with a love message inside, in five languages, four of which she spoke fluently. One friend who was thrilled with the message in her chocolate, which made an accurate prediction, called Anna to tell her about the coincidence. Anna's surprised response was "There are messages inside?" and laughed wholeheartedly.
A remarkable cook, her skills in the kitchen were appreciable. A warm, generous hostess, she excelled and delighted in creating lavish meals to taste with others. She willingly shared her recipes except for her Indonesian peanut sauce, which was given only to her sons. One morning a neighbour received a phone call requesting a meeting at their adjacent balconies, only to find Anna there, handing her a warm croissant.
Anna loved dance and music. One evening in Mexico, she danced the night away. Only upon arriving back at the hotel did she discover that she had been wearing two different coloured shoes.
Her warm, full laugh remains memorable, a testament to a life lived brimming with feeling and bursting with vitality.

At Parkwood Hospital on Sunday December 10, 2006, William Gordon GIBSON, of Metcalfe Township, Canadian Forces Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers retired, in his 75th year. A Veteran of the Korean War, he served Canada well. Survived by his beloved wife Carol GIBSON, his son Michael GIBSON and his daughter-in-law Cynthia and his grandchildren Kathleen and Lauren GIBSON. Also survived by his sisters Gladys CLEAVELY, Marie CLEAVELY and Jean CORY. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in the spring of 2007. BRULE, Donald Joseph (1919-2006)
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather on the 8th of March, 2006. Don is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Mrytle (CORYN,) his son Barry and wife Susan, his grandchildren Tammy, Kristin, Todd, great-grandchildren William and Sophie, brothers Georges, Charles and Jules and sisters Gilberte, Ida and Irene. He is predeceased by his parents Ida and Omer BRULE, sisters Yvette and Omeurien and grand_son Christopher. Born on June 24, 1919 in Trois Rivières, Québec, Don was raised on a farm in Earlton, Ontario along with his eight brothers and sisters. He left home at 15 years old to make his way in the world. His first job was for the railway driving spikes, he then worked as a lumberjack, construction labourer, painter, carpenter, welder, he was a certified steam fitter, and licensed industrial plumber. On May 29, 1943, Don married Myrtle who encouraged him to trade in his blue collar for a white one. He promptly left his job as foreman at Anglin Norcross Corp. and started a career in sales. Don sold cars at various dealerships in the Montreal area and was very successful. He went on to represent Jacuzzi Universal of St. Louis, Missouri in Quebec and eastern Canada selling pumps. He sold heavy equipment for Wajax Equipment Ltd for three years and became Regional Manager for the province of Quebec before leaving to start his own business. In 1960, Don purchased Cardinal Transport Ltd. Of Pointe Claire, Québec and transformed this cartage company into a successful local, long distance and overseas moving company called Lakeshore Movers and Warehousing (Can) Ltd. He then aligned himself with Mayflower Transit Corporation and purchased five other moving companies in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes, forming the Lakeshore Group which included Lakeshore Overseas Forwarders Inc. and D.J. Brule Enterprises Ltd., an industrial real estate company. Don served his industry as a member of the Board of Directors of various organizations including President of the Pointe Claire Chamber of Commerce in 1964. Most notably, he served for many years as the only Canadian member of the Board of Directors of Mayflower Corporation. Don will be remembered by many for both his success in business and his interest and involvement in his community. He will however, be remembered and most dearly missed by his family for his love and overwhelming generosity. We will remember Don most fondly for his loyalty to his wife and for his Friendship with his son. As we say goodbye, we are comforted by memories of Don alongside the people he held most dear. Memories of family vacations in Ft. Lauderdale and memories of family activities which included boating in the Laurentians and horse backing riding in Hudson. We are left with a vision of Don walking down a path on the beautiful property in Hudson that he once shared with his family. Perhaps he is leading a horse. He is certainly leading with the hearts, affection and eternal gratitude of his family. To a man who lived his life so fully and successfully, we say thank you and goodbye.
