WALKER, Wally
The family of the late Wally WALKER are deeply grateful to so many people for all their love and support shown to us at this time of the loss of our wonderful Dad. Our grief was made easier when hearing all the kind words spoken by everyone about Dad. Dad touched many people with his smile, chuckle, gentleness and compassion for all living creatures. Thank you to everyone at Country Lane Nursing home, thank you seems inadequate for all that you did for our Dad and for us, but know that it is thank you that comes from our hearts, we will never forget your kindness, exemplary care, compassion and understanding. Special thanks to Rev. Bill VANDERSTELT for the lovely service befitting our Dad. Deep appreciation to Granddaughter, Alisha WARDELL, for her eulogy, no doubt Poppa was very proud. We would sincerely like to thank Jim CORBETT and staff of Currie Funeral Home for their support and attention to detail. AKINS, Sadie Gwendolyn (née WARD)
Sadie Gwendolyn AKINS passed away on November 11, 2006 in her 95th year at the Village Seniors Community Hanover.
Sadie was born on December 29, 1911 at Thornbury, the daughter of Hazzard and Elizabeth (HARVEY) WARD. She attended school in Kimberley completing the equivalent of Grade 10.
On February 27, 1932 she married Harry AKINS who predeceased her. Most of her married life she lived at Flesherton and later at Markdale and Hanover.
During her working career Sadie worked in a jewellery store, grocery store, footwear at Markdale and when she retired she was working at Bob Avis Drugs. She had many hobbies -knitting, sewing and made many quilts which her family and Friends will enjoy for many years to come. She was a member of the Seniors Drop-In at Flesherton as well as a member and attendee of Flesherton United Church.
Sadie is survived by three children Joan (Bob) STODDART of Eugenia, George (Gloria) AKINS of Buckhorn and Robert (Dale) AKINS of Hanover as well as grandchildren Micheal (Jennifer) STODDART, Lori (Darcy) CORCORAN, Brad (Gail) AKINS, Tanya (Jamie) DUPUI, Kevin (Connie) AKINS, Daryl (Katherine) AKINS and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters Lottie HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON, Villa FAWCETT and Blanche RISK, also by one grand_son Gregory AKINS.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 14 with Rev. Donna MANN officiating. Taking part in the service were Tanya AKINS (prayer,) Jennifer and Micheal STODDART (eulogy) with music being provided by Bill DIAMOND, David FRIES and Ian LEITH.
Pallbearers were grandchildren Brad AKINS, Tanya AKINS, Lori CORCORAN, Micheal STODDART, Daryl and Kevin AKINS. Honorary pallbearers were Bob BUTLER and Bill HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON. Flowerbearers were great-grandchildren Kyle CORCORAN, Alyssa CORCORAN, Connor AKINS, and Keenan McHUGH.
Interment was at Flesherton Cemetery.

Peacefully, after a long struggle with lung cancer, at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, Diane Marie PERREAULT, Palgrave, in her 54th year, beloved wife of John COX. Dear sister of Peter, Michael and Dan PERREAULT, Francine CORCORAN, Johanne, Carol and Louise PERREAULT. Lovingly remembered by her many in-laws, nieces and nephews. We have been blessed in so many ways. Ryan magically touched several lives in his short adventure with us -- both young and old. His discipline for karate led him to earn his 3rd dan black belt; to achieve the title of Sensei and to become a teacher to others -- not only in karate but in life as well. Ryan's passion for magic also lifted the spirits and minds of those who had the honour of watching him perform. Special thanks to the caring staff at Georgian Heights who became part of our family over the last 14 months. To Breckenridge-Ashcroft for their help at this difficult time and to Reverend Claire MILLER for her words of comfort at the Funeral Service. NICHOLAS, Stephen Charles
After a long well lived life, Stephen Charles NICHOLAS fondly known as "Teacher Boysie" and "Teach" passed away on October 31, 2006 peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital at age 91. His children and spouses Martha, Robert, Sylvester and Angela and grand_son Azikiwe honor his life and accomplishments. He has 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who have a great example to follow. Stephen is predeceased by his wife Soter (November 1976), his parents Charles and Sylvanie NICHOLAS, and all his sisters and brothers. Teach will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families and Friends. All those who knew Stephen through his work, charitable and religious associations with them, will miss him. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Parish (St. Pius X), 777 Valetta Street, London, on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 2: 00 p.m. Burial will be at Saint Peter's Cemetery, 806 Victoria St. London. After burial, a reception to celebrate his life will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North. Peg is survived by her husband, their 6 children and spouses: James and Nancy CORDY, Christine and John BOOTHROYD, Jonathon CORDY, Mark CORDY and Christine CAMPNEY, Mathew CORDY and Tammy BOONE, and Brent and Linda CORDY, and their 17 grandchildren: Brendan, Siobhan, Allison, Courtney, Margaret, Jake, Christopher, Alexander, Kieran, Kyle, Mathew, Codi, Amber, Colin, Amanda, Meaghan, and Jordan. Peg will be sorely missed by her family and Friends. Peg was active within the Thistletown Seniors Club both as a member and a volunteer. Passed away at the Bluewater Health-Palliative Care on Friday, September 29, 2006 at 76 years. Beloved father of Debbie LONG and her three children Jennifer LEGER (Gilles,) Heather FINDLAY (Robb) and Daryl LONG all of Vancouver, British Columbia; Rhonda (Mike) and her two children Dennis KJELDSEN (Michelle) and Mandy KJELDSEN (Jonathan;) Linda MacGREGOR (George) and their two children Ian and Colin MacGREGOR; Doctor Kevin FAST (Deanna BELL- FAST) and their three sons Keenan, Dane and Bennett FAST. Also survived by G.G. children Alexcia, Ryan, Sarah and Onnika. He leaves behind one sister and three brothers Verna FARNAM (Bill) of Scquim, Washington, Alvin FAST (Nellie), Rev. John FAST (Kay), and Robert FAST (Lola) all of British Columbia. Victor was the youngest son of fourteen children and was predeceased by his parents Frank and Helena FAST, three sisters, Elizabeth, Helen and Mata, and six brothers Frank, Henry, Oscar, Dietrich, Arnold and Alfred all of western Canada. Victor was a retired officer of the Royal Canadian Navy, a member of St. Andrew's Church choir, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 and he had a great passion for golf, music and sailing, but his Grand Passion was for Betty Dee BLACK as he offered safety and love while on her walking expeditions over North America for the past twelve years. He is fondly remembered by her children Carl and Susan MITCHELL and Doctor Janet SEAL and their four sons Byron, Simon, Travis and Kurtis; Lori MITCHELL- McNALLY and her children Adam and Amber; Shari MITCHELL; Susan and Dan CORE and their children Ashley and Nicholas; Verba and Jerry BLACK and their daughter Breanne; and not to forget his good friend Sam McGee (Macaw Parrot). He will be sadly missed by all of us for he was a gentleman of the highest ilk. His life was an inspiration to all of us and his memory will be a benediction.
