Ena passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Wednesday, March 8th, 2006 in her 89th year. The former Ena BREESE was the beloved wife of the late Donald WITHERSPOON. She was the loving mother of Marg FROMANGER (John) and Peter WITHERSPOON, mother-in-law to Judy WITHERSPOON. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her nine grandchildren: Jeremy, Monique, Andria, Jordan, Sarah, Tammy, Vicky, Kyle and Becky, as well by her seven great-grandchildren: Zachery, Hayden, Austin, Aislinn, Jaylen, Abigale and James. Also survived by Sisters-in-law Anna HALL and Margaret WITHERSPOON as well by many nieces and nephews. Ena was sadly predeceased by her son James and sisters Alma BREESE and Gladys CHISHOLM. Born May 11, 1919 in Crewe, England. Our Mother and Grandmother passed away peacefully on March 2, 2006, a week after the passing of Duncan her dear husband of 60 years. She is survived by sons John and Cheryl and Rod and Jo and granddaughter Michelle and Alfie. Some of the best years of her life were spent during the 2nd World War in the Royal Air Force, it was her first experience as an independent young lady… and oh the stories she told us. After leaving family and Friends in England in 1957, she was the organizer that kept up the long distance relations in several countries. There were many cherished summers and spring breaks spent with her much-loved granddaughter Michelle in Bridgenorth and Florida. Idleness did not fit into her vocabulary and after many years working in the construction industry, joined the newly built Cawthra Seniors' Centre where Mom and Dad spent many enjoyable years playing shuffleboard and cards. Born London, England and died, after a lengthy illness, in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 24 October 2006 in his 64th year. Robert is survived by his father, John W. BRYDON, and was predeceased by his mother, the late Susan Hore ROSS. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria Alice SADEK and his dearly loved children Anthony and Alexandra in Brazil and Philip and Naomi in Australia. Loved brother of Ann (Alex) CHISHOLM and dear uncle of Douglas (Bonnie,) Ian (Lisa) and Colin (Stephanie) and their children Callum, Neve, Andrew and Evan. Missed by his dear Friends from around the world and especially the Neffa and Sadek families in Brazil. Robert spent his early childhood in Argentina and Uruguay and moved to Canada, with his family, in 1955. He attended Concordia University in Montreal, studying economics and political science. On graduation he joined the Royal Bank of Canada and served with distinction in the international banking field. His long and successful career took him to a variety of assignments in South America, Europe and Australia. He retired in 2002, settling in Brazil with his family. Despite a lengthy illness, he continued to pursue a variety of interests. He had a long life passion for an eclectic mix of music, he read extensively and was infinitely interested in the world around him. He undertook genealogical research, loved to travel, and enjoyed his garden. Robert cared deeply for his Friends and family. He was compassionate, witty, generous, intelligent, always elegant, and kind. He accepted his final illness with courage and strength and died as he had lived -- a truly gentle man.

Dear sister of Helen Daniel of Tavistock, Dorothy CHISNALL of Ingersoll and the late Reginald and Morris STEINHOFF. Loving Grandmother of Jay-ann, Shante, Bianca, Theresa, Corey, Shawn, Samantha and Jayson. Great grandmother to Mercedes, Shyana, Tayah, Taryn, Haley and Taylor. STEIN- BLUMBERG, Sasha Bell
Left us peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at her home after a six month struggle with post-surgery complications. Sasha was the beloved first born of Pamela Beth STEIN and Jonathan Lawrence BLUMBERG, born June 6, 2004 with a complex form of Alagille Syndrome, requiring many interventions which she bravely endured. As we welcome Sasha's sister Mia into the world, we hope that she has Sasha's sweet nature and beautiful spirit. Sasha was a strong girl whose courageous struggle touched all who met her and her exceptional life is celebrated at her website (http://www.sashabella.com) and blog (http://sashabella.blogspot.com). Sasha lives on in our hearts and is especially fondly remembered by Bubby Lorna STEIN, Granny Marcia BLUMBERG, Grampy Henry BLUMBERG; aunties Jessica, Raina, Cindy, Lisa, Alisa, and Lynn; uncles Kenny, Mark, Kevin, Sean, and Ofer; cousins Erin, Betsy, Sarah, Ethan, Matthew, Theo, and Kate, along with the extended family, supportive 'Alagille family' of parents of Alagille Syndrome kids worldwide, and the kind and dedicated patient-centered care givers at Sick Kids Hospital, The Temmy Latner Palliative Care Centre, and Toronto Community Care Access Centre. The life of Elizabeth (Beth) LANDER, dearly beloved wife of David H. LANDER, reached its conclusion July 19, 2006. Beth was predeceased by their dear son, John. She is survived by husband David, daughter Pat BUTLER (Leigh,) brother Gordon MacKAY, in Alberta, and her three grandchildren, Iain, Jillian, and Martha. Beth will be remembered most respectfully by those with whom she has become acquainted over the years. A private memorial service will be held by family. Died peacefully on November 4, 2006 at the Hampton Terrace Care Centre, Burlington. Beloved Mother of Moira REED- DAVIS. Predeceased by her husband Joseph Y. KIRKUP, OBE, son Phillip and son-in-law Dr. Roy REED- DAVIS. Nell was in her 102nd year. She immigrated to Canada when she was 82 years old to be close to her daughter. Nell is mourned by her family and Friends in Canada and England. A Celebration of Nell's Life will be held at the Kitching, Steepe and Ludwig Funeral Home, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 2 p.m. Reception will follow in the Family Centre. Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Friday, February 3, 2006, at 66 years of age. Retired from the City of Etobicoke, after over 30 years of service, he is survived by his wife Kit PING, son Stephen, and daughter Laurie, and grandchildren Taylor, Lucas, Alexandra and Shelby. His wisdom, generosity, humour and singing will be sorely missed by family and Friends and will be remembered for posterity. GAGLIARDI, Marlene (née CHIULLI) (March 12, 1963-July 8, 2006)
With the sweet dignity and gentle nature by which she lived, Marlene peacefully surrendered her spirit to that merciful and eternal night in the early hours of Saturday morning. In the final embrace of her loving family her husband, Louis, and their two children, Emily and Vincent, along with her mother, Anna, and father, Nino the four years of cancer's brutal siege and assaults on her delicate and beautiful frame came to an end. Returning home from that fateful summer day of the first diagnosis in 2002, Marlene was extraordinarily cheerful and sustained this courage throughout her struggle. This she did out of the nobly unselfish concern to protect those she loved. She never cried, never sought the indulgence of sympathy, nor ever gave the faintest hint of self-pity. To all of us who knew and loved her, this was the ultimate heroism in the face of death, the truest testament to her strength of character. She was dutiful and athletic as a child; diligent and devoted to her work in her twenty-five year career at British Airways; and exemplary in her goodness and loyalty as a daughter, sister, and friend. Marlene shared the gifts of her young life and steadfast love with her husband, Louis, for 17 years. Their journey, christened at the start by the transformative magic of Vincent's "Sunflowers", took them together to discoveries of distant travels, enriched their lives through the elevating experience of art, and culminated in the stability of a home filled with unconditional love, laughter, and hope. But above all else, her proudest legacy resides in her precious children, Emily, 15, and Vincent, 5, in whom her spirit prevails, guides, protects, and loves...depthless and without end. Marlene will be forever grieved by her husband and children; by her parents Nino and Anna whom she adored and whose love for their baby girl was infinite, tirelessly and tenderly nurturing her at life's end as when it began; by her loving sisters Vivian and Mara; her in-laws Vincent and Lucia GAGLIARDI; brothers-in-law, Ugo, Patrick, Tony; nieces Natalie and Melissa; nephews Justin, Michael, Erik. Our family extends its profound gratitude for the steadfast love and support of relatives, Friends, colleagues, and neighbours.
