DAVIES, passed away on March 16th
at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls due
to complications from pneumonia. She is survived by her loving
husband Professor René
BISMUTH, son Robert, granddaughter Esme
and great-grand_sons Casey and Dakota. Through her unfailing energy
and zeal, Doris touched the hearts of everyone she met in her
life, no matter how briefly. Born into a coal miner's family,
Doris long ago left her cherished Welsh village to travel the
world. She lived on many continents, eventually making Canada
her home. Condolences have been received from Friends and family
in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Caribbean,
France, Switzerland, South Africa and New Zealand. An online

a celebration of Doris' life will be held at the Niagara-on-the-Lake
Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes on Friday, March 24th at 3 p.m.,
with visitation the day before from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to
9 p.m. Doris will eventually be laid to rest in Wales. In lieu
of flowers, the family requests that those so motivated make
a donation to the Doris and René Bismuth Scholarship Fund for
Modern Language Studies at Brock University. Donations can be

After discovering her life would be cut short last November,
we were all blessed with 10 months of the most generous, caring
and trusting person one could know. During this time Vicki has
shown more courage than one can imagine. On Monday, September 11,
2006 she decided to rest. Vicki passed away at 5 p.m. with her
sister at her side, her son, friend, former spouse nearby and
many with her in spirit. Loving mother of Patrick, sister of
Pat, former spouse of Denis and with a large extended family
in Canada, Ireland and the U.S.A. Predeceased by her mother Eleanor,
father Don and sister Lee
MADDEN.
Vicki was a leader in her field
and enjoyed a wonderful career as a librarian at the Toronto,
Scarborough and Metro Reference Public Libraries, an entrepreneur
and lecturer at the University of Toronto, York University and
Seneca. Vicki was a dear and valued friend to many, and will
be remembered for her unconditional love, support and compassion.
Thank you to all of Vicki's wonderful caregivers at Princess
Margaret, St. Mike's and Bridgepoint Health. Please join us for
visitation Thursday, September 14th 2-4 p.m., 6-9 p.m. at Sherrin
Funeral Home, 873 Kingston Rd., Toronto, M4E 1S4. A service will
be held on Friday, September 15th at 1 p.m.at Kew Beach United

geologist, Mary raised her daughters in Copper Cliff where she
was active in the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire,
United Church Women's Assoc., the School Board and her many bridge
groups. During their retirement Mary and Jim enjoyed travelling
and especially their cottage at the French River. As a Mother,
Grandmother and Great-Grandmother she provided a wonderful example
of a positive outlook with love and laughter. We will miss your
sense of humour and smile. As Mom wished, cremation has taken
place and her life celebrated by her immediate family. A memorial
service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 -- 4: 00 p.m.
at the Copper Cliff United Church. In Mom's memory, family
and Friends may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
