BISMUTH, Doris (née DAVIES) (1918-2006)
Daughter of Meredith and Jane DAVIES, passed away on March 16th at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls due to complications from pneumonia. She is survived by her loving husband Professor René BISMUTH, son Robert, granddaughter Esme and great-grand_sons Casey and Dakota. Through her unfailing energy and zeal, Doris touched the hearts of everyone she met in her life, no matter how briefly. Born into a coal miner's family, Doris long ago left her cherished Welsh village to travel the world. She lived on many continents, eventually making Canada her home. Condolences have been received from Friends and family in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, France, Switzerland, South Africa and New Zealand. An online tribute to Doris will be available at http://www.DorisB.ca and a celebration of Doris' life will be held at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes on Friday, March 24th at 3 p.m., with visitation the day before from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Doris will eventually be laid to rest in Wales. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those so motivated make a donation to the Doris and René Bismuth Scholarship Fund for Modern Language Studies at Brock University. Dear mother of Peter McIVER and his wife Linda of Goderich, Thomas McIVER and his wife Mary of Kitchener, , James McIVER of Mount Forest and William McIVER of Edmonton, Alberta. Lovingly remembered by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Passed away unexpectedly in Pointe Claire, Quebec on July 8, 2006 at the age of eighty-six. Beloved husband of Betty, and the late Ollie; loving father of Warren DICKS (Elena,) Barcelona, Spain and Janet BISSET (Peter) of St. Lambert, Quebec. Proud grandfather of Alan DICKS, Laura BISSET (Drew MARSHALL) and Heather BISSET. Wilfred was the son of the late F. George and Mary L. DICKS, London. He leaves behind his sister, Dora McNEIL (late John G. McNEIL) of London, niece Marilynne McNEIL (London,) nephew Grant McNEIL (Barbara) and great-nephews Scott and Evan, Calgary. Wilfred was a graduate of London South Collegiate and the gold medal graduate in chemistry, University of Western Ontario in 1941. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 in Pointe Claire.

CASEY, Vicki Louise (née BISSET)
After discovering her life would be cut short last November, we were all blessed with 10 months of the most generous, caring and trusting person one could know. During this time Vicki has shown more courage than one can imagine. On Monday, September 11, 2006 she decided to rest. Vicki passed away at 5 p.m. with her sister at her side, her son, friend, former spouse nearby and many with her in spirit. Loving mother of Patrick, sister of Pat, former spouse of Denis and with a large extended family in Canada, Ireland and the U.S.A. Predeceased by her mother Eleanor, father Don and sister Lee MADDEN. Vicki was a leader in her field and enjoyed a wonderful career as a librarian at the Toronto, Scarborough and Metro Reference Public Libraries, an entrepreneur and lecturer at the University of Toronto, York University and Seneca. Vicki was a dear and valued friend to many, and will be remembered for her unconditional love, support and compassion. Thank you to all of Vicki's wonderful caregivers at Princess Margaret, St. Mike's and Bridgepoint Health. Please join us for visitation Thursday, September 14th 2-4 p.m., 6-9 p.m. at Sherrin Funeral Home, 873 Kingston Rd., Toronto, M4E 1S4. On September 21, 2006 after a long well lived life in her 95th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jim. Left to cherish countless memories are daughters Sharon O'NEILL and Kathleen (Mark LOWERY/LOWREY/LOWRIE/LOWRY.) Devoted grandchildren Shannon BISSET (Anthony CAVALLIN,) Megan McLENAGHAN (Luke McLENAGHAN,) McArthur and Julie LOWERY/LOWREY/LOWRIE/LOWRY, and great-grandchildren Cael and Ella BISSET- CAVALLIN. One of four sisters, Mary is survived by Margaret CAMPBELL and Helen KURTZ and predeceased by Kay SMYTH. As the wife of an exploration geologist, Mary raised her daughters in Copper Cliff where she was active in the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire, United Church Women's Assoc., the School Board and her many bridge groups. During their retirement Mary and Jim enjoyed travelling and especially their cottage at the French River. As a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother she provided a wonderful example of a positive outlook with love and laughter. We will miss your sense of humour and smile. As Mom wished, cremation has taken place and her life celebrated by her immediate family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 -- 4: 00 p.m. at the Copper Cliff United Church. Ken ANTHONY in his 76th year was the beloved husband for 49 years of Barbara ANTHONY (BISSLAND) of Lindsay and formerly Toronto and Cameron Lake. Dear father of Blair Edward ANTHONY and Kelly of Peterbrough and predeceased by Scott Douglas ANTHONY. Remembered by his cousins and many lifelong Friends in Toronto and Kawartha Lakes area. Ken was a volunteer with the Lindsay Muskies, Board of Directors and Volunteer of the Year with Kawartha Lakes Snowmobile Club.
