and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law. Mr.
BLAIN was a veteran
of World War 2 as a Corporal in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
He has been a continuing member of the Royal Canadian Legion
(Branch 88) in Timmins. Earlier in his life, he had a successful
career in sales. For 22 years he worked as comptroller for
CFCL
Radio and Television and was co-owner of Eddy Office Supply for
several years in Timmins. He then returned to sales until his
retirement at the young age of 78. Visitation will be held at
the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, (2 blocks
north of Oxford), on Friday from 2: 00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7: 30 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Communauté Sainte-Marguerite-d'Youville,
920 Huron Street, London, on Saturday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment
will follow at a later date. Remembrance donations made to the
Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society
will be greatly appreciated.

Born April 17, 1917, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2006 at
the age of 89. He is survived by Ina, his loving wife of 64 years,
daughter Inara, granddaughters Linda and Kristina

Janis
was born in Skulte, Latvia. He and his family fled at the end
of World War 2 to Sweden, where they lived for seven years before
coming to Canada in 1951. Janis' business life in Canada was
spent in the design and manufacture of Christmas trees and ornaments
- he was referred to as "Mr. Christmas" by Friends and associates.
He loved spending time at his family cottage on Lake Simcoe.
Janis' legendary hospitality, love of dancing and his "tippy-toppy"
nature will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. Family and
Friends are invited for a time of Visitation on Tuesday, June 13
from 12: 00 noon with the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. in the
