MEREDITH, Arthur Kemp
Passed away on January 1, 2006 after a brief battle with cancer. Kemp was born in Toronto on November 16, 1924 to the late Paul Roy MEREDITH and Margaret Estelle KEMP. He was raised and lived all of his life in Toronto until 1997, when he and his loving wife, Lise, followed their daughter, Michelle, and her family to Kincardine, Ontario, on the shores of Lake Huron. There, he was able to enjoy his two greatest loves after his family and Friends - his dog, and the open water. Kemp leaves Lise (née BEAUDIN,) his wife of 51 years; his son, Mark, with daughter-in-law Sharon SUTHERLAND and their children Rowan, Darsey and Cailean Brynn; and his daughter, Michelle, with son-in-law Jim TAILOR/TAYLOR and their children Ryan, Jennifer and Kate. He is survived by his sister, Wendy, and her partner, Harry, and by his sister-in-law, Dianne, and is predeceased by his brother, Paul. His smiles and his humour, constant even in the face of his recent adversity, will be sorely missed by all of his extended family and his many life-long Friends. Many thanks for their kindness and support to Dr. Donna TAILOR/TAYLOR and all the caring staff at Kincardine Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kincardine Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be much appreciated. Kemp's remains were interred at the family plot in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto, on January 4 following a brief private gathering. His spirit is on a boat somewhere.

Great-grandmother of Amber and Ashley WILSON of Saint Thomas and Austin DENNIS of Aylmer. Born in London, Ontario on May 14, 1926, daughter of the late John and Alice (VINCENT) McTAGGART. Bonnie had lived most of her life in Orwell. Bonnie was a veteran of the second world war, she packed artillery ammunition in Montreal. She was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. #81, Aylmer and attended Saint Paul's United Church. The family will receive Friends at the H.A. Peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2006 in her 97th year after an enjoyable day of sewing and bridge at the Balmoral Club. Predeceased by her husband Ted in 1968. Loving mother and mother-in-law of David and Penny LEWIS, Dick and Lynn LEWIS, Linda LEWIS and Geoff and Nancy BROWNE. Grandmother of David, Jennifer and Christopher LEWIS, Christina and Michael LEWIS and Ted and Lauren BROWNE and proud great-grandmother of 8. Predeceased by her brother Jack and sisters Fran and Ruth. Loving aunt of Peter NETTELFIELD, Bill and John TRAINOR and Heather BEAUDOIN. Kay was a wonderful mother who did an amazing job of raising her children. She was a keen sportswoman who was an avid curler and golfer. A master at bridge, she was always keen to have a game of some sort before and after dinner. She loved her extended family and will be missed by them all. A private memorial service will be held. At the Strathmore Residence in Dorval, on April 23, 2006, in his 80th year. Loving father of Dennis, Joanne (Bernie RASO,) Suzy, Caroline (Daniel KEATING,) and beloved grandfather of Jessica. Loving brother to Georgette, and the late Marcel, he also leaves to mourn seven nieces and nephews, and the "outlaws". Throughout his life, "Butch" was an artist and collector, quick to laugh, had a great sense of humour and a keen intellect. He was always optimistic, and a great friend to many. He volunteered with the Optimist Club, the Lion's Club, the Shriner's and the Shriner's Circus, McGill's Alumnae, and he was an officer in the Naval Reserve, H.M.C.S. Donnacona. A graduate of Collège Mont-St-Louis and McGill University (1953), he was first an architect with Betts, Beaudoin, Cash, then went to a career at Concordia University from which he retired at the age of 72. Visitation will be held at Kane Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Boulevard, on Tuesday, April 25, from 7-9 p.m., and Wednesday, April 26, from 2-4 p.m., followed by a service in the funeral home chapel. Private cremation to follow. The family thanks the staff at the Strathmore Residence for the care and respect they provided to our father. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jim, after suffering a heart attack while golfing on July 3rd. Beloved husband of Célyne (née BEAUDOIN,) loving and cherished father of Jessica, David and Geneviève, wonderful son of Ken and Barbara and dear brother of David. Jim's delightful sense of humor will be missed by Célyne's parents Maurice and Emilienne, his sisters-in-law Jocelyne, Michelle, Josée and Joanne, brothers-in-law Jean, André, Michel, and his many nieces, nephews and Friends. Predeceased by his brothers-in-law Claude and André. The family would like to thank the staff in the Coronary Care Unit of Southlake Regional Health Centre for their care, compassion and support and for all their efforts and kindness. Jim was the sixth generation to residence un the family business, Hunnisett Chemicals. He loved coaching kids' hockey and knew his way around the rinks of Toronto and beyond. He was the loving father of Kenneth and his wife Barbara (WORTHINGTON) and David and his wife Patricia (BEAULIEU,) brother of John, Margaret CREWSON, Ottalyn WATSON and Evelyn CAREY, dear grandfather of William, Julia, Sarah and Bradley. Harold retired from the Ontario Provincial Police, Pembroke Detachment in 1986 and moved back to the area in 1994. Peacefully at Ile Bizard, Quebec, on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the age of 91. son of the late Reverend Georges PECK and of his beloved mother, Marie-Louise (née BEAULIEU.) Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Fleda (Bunny) née BRILHART. Dear father of Evelyn REID (late Barry), Natalie CHAPMAN, Robert Jr. (Maria), Jon (Alena). Loving grandfather of Linda, Jeremy, Liam, Andrew, and Tomas, great-grandfather of Samantha. Uncle to George PECK of Vancouver. Predeceased by brother Georges (late Isabelle). Survived by his dear sister Hélène COOPER (Cyril) of Ottawa. Paul CHAPMAN was a loyal friend for many years. Lieutenant Commander PECK served in World War 2 as signals officer aboard LCI 118, part of 262nd Flotilla, Assault Force 'J' and took part in the D-Day invasion. He volunteered and served from 1942 until 1946. A McGill graduate, Bob started his career in 1935, became Supervisor of French for the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal, taught at Lachine High School and served as Vice-Principal of Riverdale High School until retirement in 1970. Among many other accomplishments, Bob co-wrote Le Francais Pratique in 1956 - a mainstay text in Quebec English-language schools for 15 years. Bob lived and taught in Africa (Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon) for seven years. An inveterate traveler well into his 80's, he went alone by bus from London to Delhi through the Khyber Pass at the age of 75. The family extends its thanks to all of the staff of the Centre d'Hebergement Denis Benjamin Viger, and to his devoted caregivers, especially Nancy Durdon and her mother, Irene. Mario Amiot of the Liaison Centre at Ste. Anne's Veterans' Hospital and his colleagues welcomed Bob into their program and greatly enhanced his quality of life. The support of former Member of Parliament Clifford Lincoln will never be forgotten. A celebration of Bob's life will take place on Wednesday June 14th, 2006 at 4: 00 p.m. at the Centre Denis-Benjamin Viger, 3292 Cherrier in Ile Bizard. Interment will follow at the Field of Honour in Pointe Claire, Quebec. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Robert A. Catherine is the loving mother of Anne COCHRANE and husband Stephen of Strathroy and Peter BEAUMONT and wife Kathy of London. Catherine will be missed by her grandchildren Allison COCHRANE, Karen (Tyler) STANFIELD, Lindsay (Carl) LINKER and Scott BEAUMONT. She also has 5 great-grandchildren, Anika and Aria ATKINSON, Riley and Christian STANFIELD and Owen LINKER. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Catherine was born in Barrie, Ontario but lived most of her adult life in London, Ontario. She worked at London Health Sciences Centre for 30 years, 15 in the Admission Department and 15 as a volunteer. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff on the A.C.E. and Palliative Care Units of Victoria for their wonderful care during Catherine's final journey. There will be no visitation. Survived by three sisters, Frilly (Rob) MANLEY, Lucy (Stu) GRAHAM and Josephine (Sandy) SIMPSON, daughter Esther and husband Gerry CRANN, son-in-law Peter POHL and grandchildren, Marcus POHL, Jacquie (Dave) ROY, Tanya POHL, Jayson (Elena) and Justin CRANN and great-grand_son Connor Roy. Our deepest appreciation to all her caregivers, doctors, nurses, advocates and Friends at the Mississauga Trillium Health Centre, Dorothy Ley Hospice, Community Care Access Centre and The McCaul Centre for their compassionate and marvelous care of Anne throughout her illness. Peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2006 in Castro Valley, California. Born in 1926, he was the son of the late James Leo and Esther (BEAUPRE) MAHONEY of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Predeceased by his son Mark (2004,) his sister Eileen MURRAY (late Stewart) and brother Leo (Margaret), both of Toronto, Ontario (2003) and by his brothers John (Mary Frances) of London, Ontario and Hugh (late Patricia) of St. Catharines, Ontario (2004). He is survived by his beloved wife Betz (Elizabeth O'MEARA of Hartford,) his sons Martin (Susan) of Thornton, Pennsylvania, Michael of Sausalito, California, his sister Anne HALL (William) of Renfrew, Ontario and a special family friend Olga DIMITRATOS of Alameda, California. He has been a thoughtful and considerate uncle to three generations of numerous nieces and nephews in North America, England and China. Earl graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 1952. Following internship and a year of family practice with his father in Niagara Falls, he trained in anesthesia at Hartford, Connecticut, then practiced with the United States Army for two years and in Seattle, Washington prior to settling in Castro Valley in 1960 where he was on the staffs of Eden and Doctors' Hospitals until 1984. He was a Diplomate of the American Board of Anestheology. Earl was a conscientious and caring professional, and a trusted friend. He had an exceptionally inquiring mind, and dearly loved his family, adventurous travel, and tennis. He was also an avid and successful gardener with a major talent for growing magnificent roses. There will be a Mass of Remembrance at Our Lady of Grace Church at 3433 Somerset Ave. in Castro Valley, California on Saturday, June 17th at 11 a.m. If desired, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.

This is where he met and married his late wife Isabell Anna KENNEDY (2003.) He had a successful, full life both with his family and in his careers in the Air Force, in sales with the C.B.C. and C.F.R.B., and in real estate with Bosleys and finally as a manager of the Industrial and Commercial division of Canada Trust. Jack's memory will be cherished by his daughters Elizabeth (Betty) Anne DOUGHTY and Judith Lynn KENNEDY as well as his sons-in-law, Paul DOUGHTY and Paul VAN ALSTINE.
