Beloved brother of Denise "Gubby" ARMOUR (David) and loving uncle to Celia CHASSELS (Ian LARGE) and John Peter CHASSELS (Darcy). Great uncle of Jeremy LARGE and Cameron CHASSELS. He was World War 2 Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force and Fleet Air Arm. As a commercial pilot he flew aircraft around the world. He was an expert sailor, a gifted cartoonist and restored vintage automobiles. He will be greatly missed by family and Friends in Canada and Antigua. A Memorial Service was held in Antigua on July 4, 2006.

On January 5, 2006, Frank ORLANDO passed away peacefully, in his sleep, surrounded by his loving wife of 60 years Esther, sons Thomas and Michael, daughter Louise, and close family friend Joseph. Also survived by his daughter-in-law Virginia; grandchildren Jonathan, Tamara, Stephanie and Michael; his sister Ida and her husband Al TUCKER. World War 2 Veteran
Suddenly at his home in Owen Sound on Monday October 30, 2006. “Lou” Ormond Alfred ARNOTT was born in Belleville April 25, 1918. Loving husband of sixty-two years to Catherine Anna “Kay” ARNOTT (née BROWN.) Beloved father of Bill ARNOTT (Candace BOUCHARD) and Lynda and her husband Don FRITZSCH. Loving grandfather of Paul FRITZSCH and Patricia, of Newmarket, and Scott FRITZSCH and Robyn, of Minneapolis. Loved brother of Fern and her husband Fred, of Kelowna, British Columbia, and Shirley and her husband Red, of Surrey, B.C.. Brother-in-law of Edna, of Nanaimo, British Columbia, and Bernice BROWN, of Owen Sound. Loved uncle of his many nieces and nephews both in Ontario and British Columbia. Predeceased by his father William, his mother Gladys and his step-mother Grace, by his brother Tom, his nephew Wayne and by brothers-in-law Harold and Lyle BROWN. Lou was a volunteer with the Canadian Forces from 1939-1945. Staff Sergeant O.A. ARNOTT served with the 14th Field Regiment in Petawawa and then volunteered and was accepted for service in the First Special Service Force where in 1942 he was severely injured during night time parachute training at Fort Harrison in Helena, Montana. After his recovery, he rejoined the Field Regiment and was assigned to training duties in England, Petawawa, Truro, Nova Scotia and in Owen Sound where he met and married Kay in 1944. They returned to Owen Sound where they raised their family “out in the country” at 1st Street and 4th Avenue West. Lou was a master carpenter and a jack of all the other trades and worked for many years as a construction superintendent with Ellis Don Construction. He took a position in the maintenance department at the MacKinnon Phillips Hospital once construction was complete. He worked there until his retirement in 1983. Lou was a tireless volunteer over the years in many organizations. He was past president and a Life Member of the Owen Sound Branch 6 Legion where he spent many hours ensuring that the building was in good condition, the beer was cold, and the comradeship and discussions were intact. He was a member of the Grey Granite, Blue Water Curling Club, and the Roselawn Lawn bowling Clubs. He was a member of the Rotary, Kiwanis, Old Blades and the Masons at various times. He also held a position as President of the Owen Sound Minor Softball Association for several years. An avid outdoorsman he loved to fish, hunt, boat and spend time in the bush. He enjoyed traveling and learning about new things. Gardening was one of his passions and he took pleasure in seeing the fruits of his labour each season. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning at 11 a.m. Doctor Brad CLARK officiating. Members of the Owen Sound Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 are requested to attend a memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Hearing Society, the Legion Poppy Fund or the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

78, died peacefully at home after an exhausting battle with cancer on Thursday, March 9, 2006. He was surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary KOZIOL (née ANDRUCH,) and his six daughters Carol KOZIOL of London, Jane ARNOTT and her husband Ken of London, Natasha KOZIOL of London, Valerie KOZIOL of Barrie, Ann Marie SIMONE and her husband Ron of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Andrea KOZIOL and her husband Thomas NEUSPIEL of Toronto. "Dedo" will be missed by grandchildren Luke, Brock, Ben, Calvin, Erika, Kurtis, Kyra, Teri, Sacha and Isabella. Also survived by niece Doris. Predeceased by parents, Gregor and Natalia, by brother Fred, and by nephew John. John was born in Porichya, Belarus (Poland) in 1927 and emigrated to Canada in 1939. He taught at Beal Secondary School, retiring in 1986. He was a gifted musician and loved the solace of nature. His presence will be missed. At John's request, there will no visitation or funeral service. A private family funeral will be held. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada. On Sunday, January 22nd, 2006, after a short but valiant battle with cancer; surrounded by the love of her family, Mom passed peacefully out of the embrace of her loved ones and into the arms of her Lord to be with her son Bill and late husband "Tommy". She left this world bravely and with grace, just as she lived her life. We are so very proud of her. ATCHESON, Jeffrey Alexander (January 1, 1941-March 18, 2006)
Professional football player, wrestler, actor, poet, lumberjack and nurturer, our beloved Jeffrey died suddenly at home, in Guelph, in his 66th year. Jeff grew up in Toronto, earned a B.A. at the University of Nebraska and a M.A. at Cornell University in English and Drama, on an athletic scholarship. After University, Jeff played football with the Canadian Football League in Toronto, Hamilton and Calgary where his love of the mountains and the wilderness kept him for several more years building the Kananaskis Trail System in Canmore, Alberta. A prolific writer and raconteur, Jeff's uninhibited comic take on life brought laughter and joy to every get together. In 1988, Jeff returned to Guelph to care for his ailing father, Kenneth, until his death in 1993 and then for his beloved mother, Florence, until her death six weeks ago, in her 96th year. He is lovingly remembered by his many Friends and family: sisters Barbara (Peter GLASS) and Gayle ROBINSON, nieces Kim (Steve BUCEK,) Tracey MOORE (Jim ARNOTT) and Leslie (Brian McMANUS,) and their children for his compassion, his humour and his indomitable spirit.
