JACKSON,
William
Ontario Land Surveyor (877) Retired. Peacefully, at the Penetanguishene
General Hospital, on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in his 77th
year. Beloved husband of Carol
(YURATOVAC,) dear father of Carol,
Linda (husband Harold), John (wife Nicola), Jim and Nancy. Loving
grandfather to Brittany, Mieka, Karl and Anthony. Cousin of George
KIDD.
Born and raised in Toronto, he was comissioned as an Ontario
Land Surveyor in 1956 while with the firm of A. Cook. In 1960,
he moved to Browne and Cavell, eventually acquiring the firm from
Edward Cavell and leading the organization under the new name
of Browne, Cavell and Jackson Ltd. His company flourished for 33
years with Bill earning the unwaivering respect of peers and
clients alike. Later he relocated the practice to the Township
of Tiny in 1983 under the name of Wm. Jackson Surveying Ltd.
In 1991 he retired, devoting his time to community service with
the Committee of Adjustments for Tiny Township and, for a short
period of time, to the Committee of Adjustments for Penetanguishene.
Bill was a real people person who enjoyed engaging conversation
and helping others whenever he could. He was an avid outdoorsman
who spent many relaxing hours fishing, hunting, and observing
the birds in his garden. As a Charter Member of the Islington
Sportsman Club, Bill was proud to serve as the Club's former
president. Family and Friends will sadly miss his intellect,
honesty, humour, and creativity. The family sincerely appreciates
the compassionate care provided by Dr. Peter
CAMERON and the
health care staff at Penetanguishene General Hospital. Visitation
will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave.,
Midland, on Friday, January 28th from 1: 00 - 2:30 p.m. The funeral
service will be in the chapel at 2: 30 p.m. In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Penetanguishene General Hospital - Level 1 would
be appreciated.
