Donald Ross
MacFARLANE, 81, passed away after a long illness
on Saturday, May 21st, 2005 in London, Ontario with his family
at his side. Born on February 12th, 1924, the
son of the late
Jack and Laurine
MacFARLANE of Petrolia. A devoted husband of
Dorothy for 49 years. Loving father to Doug
MacFARLANE,
Anne▼
and Brad COXON,
Sheila and Bill
NICKLE. Loving grandfather to
Keely, Kyle, Wes and Grant. He is survived by his sister Merle
(Gord) McJENNETT.
Predeceased▼ by his brother Robert
MacFARLANE
and his sister Alice
PENNINGTON.
Donald spent many years with
Hobbs Glass, MacFarlane Motors and the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture while living a full life and enjoying his family.
He loved to ski and his deep interest in genealogy, with special
emphasis on Lambton County, led to many adventures. After reading
the daily obituaries, he would often remark that it must be a
good day as his name was not listed. This is his day to be listed
and it is still a good day, as he is no longer feeling poorly.
There will be no funeral home visitation or service at Don's
request and cremation has occurred. A private interment will
follow at a later date in Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Don's memory may be made to
the Lambton County Branch Ontario Genealogy Society, P.O. Box
2857, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 7W1. (A. Millard George Funeral Home,
60 Ridout Street South, London 519-433-5184 entrusted with arrangements).
