It is with great sadness the McBratney family announces that after a short illness Eleanor unexpectedly passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, in her 80th year of life. Eleanor, beloved wife of 56 years to William. Loving mother and matriarch of Brian (Debbie), Bill (Dianne), Blair (Heidi), Gary (Risë), and Glen. Cherished grandmother of Amy (Bill), Michael, Christopher, Shaun, Corrie, Tyler, Kyle, Eric, Shaelyn, great-grandmother of Jacob and Ian. Eleanor will be missed and always cherished. Resting at the Paul O'Conner Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East (between Warden and Pharmacy) from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Fondly and lovingly remembered by her step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Passed quietly at her home, October 5, 2005 at 6: 50 p.m. Survived by her husband Martin and her three children Deirdre, Michael and Fiona; her brother John Joe, his wife Frances and their daughter Eilish; and by her loving mother Josephine. Predeceased by her father John. Her loss will be felt by her many other "babies" and by the countless Friends who were blessed to know her laugh and her smile. Goodness was so natural to her, it was almost infectious. To honour her will be to dance in public places, to savour every meal and to give more than is seemingly possible. At the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005 in his 71st year, surrounded by the love of his family. Loving husband of the late Sandra (McBRIDE) CHRISTIAN, Don has now joined her in the presence of Jesus their Lord and Saviour. Loved step-father of George McBRIDE, Dianne McBRIDE, Molly HODGINS and Kelly McBRIDE. Don will also be missed by his four grandchildren. son of the late Donald and Dorothy CHRISTIAN, Don is survived by his sisters Robina KAPOSY and Virginia SEAL. Predeceased by one brother William and an infant sister Harriet. Don has been a very active and well loved member of the Shallow Lake Community Church since its beginning and has been an inspiration to his many Friends both there and at St. Francis Place, Owen Sound, where he and Sandra made their home for many years. Predeceased by her parents, one sister, six brothers and grandchild Scott. Survived by sister-in-law Leone PASSMORE of Aylmer, Ontario. Will be sadly missed by her children, Ken ELDER (Carol) of Ottawa, Jean MacBRIDE (Bob) of Cumberland Center, Maine, Kathy FULMER (Ray) of Waterdown, John ELDER (Cheryl) of Belleville. Beloved Grandmother of Eric, Ingrid, Ajana, Garrick, Sara, Aubrey and Mark. Sue's greatest wish in life was that all her family and Friends would enjoy life and take advantage of any new opportunities or challenges. Friends and family were very important to Sue. We were all deeply inspired by such a fun loving Mom and wife and have wonderful memories of a life lived to its fullest. Her infectious smile and hearty laugh remained with her through her final days. Sue would have wished to express her thanks to Dr. CROSS and Dr. JONES who were so caring and attentive and to the staff at Cama Woodlands for their loving care. Cremation has taken place. As the result of a tragic accident, on Monday, February 14, 2005, Harold E. DEAN of Tillsonburg in his 62nd year. He leaves behind, his wife Alice▼ (McBRIDE,) one daughter Cheryl-Lynn WARD and her husband Phil, of Brownsville, one son Michael DEAN and his wife Rosemary, of Tillsonburg and two step-children Arthur and Tammy CHURCHER. He was the proud grandpa of nine grandchildren: Chantel, Amber, Lisa, Melissa, Amanda, Jennifer, Alexis, Dustin and Kassandra.
Harold has been a licensed funeral director for over 35 years, also serving as the superintendent of the Tillsonburg Cemetery Commission for 21 years. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Derek J.W. LITTLE. Beloved mother of David (Linda FLEMING/FLEMMING) and John (Wendy POTTS.) Proud Nanna to Scott and Sarah (David) and Nicholas, Thomas and Jack (John). Born May 6, 1926 in Toronto, Shirley was the only child of Thomas Alexander McBRIDE and Mary Idele (Dell) SAIGEON. Shirley grew up in the east end of Toronto and attended Riverdale Collegiate. She sang in the choirs of Christ Church Deer Park, Toronto, and Christ Church, Woodbridge. Shirley was active in many sports. She loved playing golf (Toronto Ladies Golf Club) and also enjoyed tennis and skiing with her family at Osler Bluff, Collingwood. After four generations of boys in the LITTLE family, Shirley's wish for a granddaughter came true with the birth of Sarah, her fifth grandchild. She▼ was the beloved wife of George Hunter TROW, the loving mother of Susan TROW and Anne McBRIDE, mother-in-law to Ian McBRIDE and Emmanuel LÉPINE and beloved grandmother to Jennifer, Martin, Brendan and Colin. She will be remembered for her quiet generous nature by her family and Friends and those who knew her for her past work as a volunteer at Bloorview Children's Hospital.

Suddenly, at home, on October 25, 2005. The tenth of eleven children of Ruth and Arthur McBRIDE, all of whom predeceased her except for her dear sister, Barbara DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS of Mississauga. Beloved 'Auntie Do' to three generations of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. Life long friend of Donna HALEY. After▼ nearly 50 years as an employee of Doubleday Canada, most of those years as Secretary-Treasurer of the company, Dorothy enriched her retirement by assisting two days a week at Cottingham Public School (the school she herself attended) and by loving each of the children she worked with there. The Church of the Messiah was her spiritual home for nearly all her years. There she sang in the Choir and was a devoted member of the Chancel Guild. She was a Life Member of the Girl Guides of Canada and a member of the Ladies Golf Club of Toronto. It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our dearly loved Joe. Peacefully in faith and surrounded by his loving family at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Monday, February 21, 2005. Joe LUNDY of Barrie was the beloved husband of 45 years to Jeannette. Dearest father to Lisa (Joe) CARTAGINESE, Deanna (Bruce) MARTIN, and Christopher LUNDY (friend Pamela HENDERSON) all of Barrie. He was the perfect Papa to his dearly loved grandchildren Amanda and Natalie CARTAGINESE, Justin and Jordan MARTIN, Taylor and Kailyn LUNDY and step-grand_son Kyle MARTIN. Predeceased by his infant daughters Maria, Theresa and Josephine, and his parents Richard and Madeline LUNDY. He will be deeply missed by his brothers Michael (Carol) LUNDY of Ottawa, Jim (Jane) LUNDY of Markham, and his sister Mary (William) WALKER of Markham and their families. Remembered with love by his mother-in-law Mary SOKIL (late Harry SOKIL,) brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mike and Dianne and nephew Shane McBRIDE, Betty EATON and family, and Lorraine LUNDY. He joined Bell Canada in 1954 and worked in Northern Ontario for many years before he and his family moved to Orangeville and then Barrie in 1967. He was a member of the Bell Canada Pioneers and the Barrie Historical Society. After retiring in 1990, he and Jeannette travelled extensively, something they enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and working at his small engine repair business, and foremost spending time with the apples of his eye his grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces Vicki, Cindy, Tina and Susan and her nephew Stanley, the late Grant and 8 great-nieces and nephews. Ruth was proud to be the first woman lifeguard in Ontario. She was active in promoting opera by sitting on the President's Council for the Canadian Opera Company. She was a proud member of the World Federalists, an extension of the U.N., and the Monarchist League of Canada. Ruth was also a life member of the Royal Life Saving Society of Canada and a member of the United Empire Loyalists. Ruth's fondness for art was expressed through her many paintings. She was also an ardent fan of the National Ballet of Canada. At her request, funeral arrangements are private, followed by cremation. After▲ nearly 50 years as an employee of Doubleday Canada, most of those years as Secretary-Treasurer of the company, Dorothy enriched her retirement by assisting two days a week at Cottingham Public School (the school she herself attended) and by loving each of the children she worked with there. The Church of the Messiah was her spiritual home for nearly all her years. There she sang in the Choir and was a devoted member of the Chancel Guild. She was a Life Member of the Girl Guides of Canada and a member of the Ladies Golf Club of Toronto. All too soon, on Saturday, November 26th, 2005 at Saint Mary's of the Lake Hospital, Kingston, in the comforting presence of a gracious God and a family whose love knows no limit. Russ was the beloved husband of Sharon Marie (née CLARK) and the cherished father and mentor of Timothy and his wife Christine of Apsley, and Christopher of Toronto. He was the proud grandfather of Carly and Hailey. Ross will be sadly missed by Sharon's family: Mom, Jean Clark, Carol and Maurice RANKIN, Faith CLARK, Laurie and Diana CLARK, Sylvia and Dennis MILLS, Jim and Brenda CLARK and their families. His cousins Jim and the late Agnes CUMMINGS, Raymond and the late David PATTERSON, Robert and Sandra PATTERSON, Don and Nora SMITH, Margaret and Wally REVELL and Lorne and Wendy McBRIDE are also a treasured part of his family. He was predeceased by his parents Mamie and Russel Sr. Russ received his education at Trent and Queen's Universities. After 15 years as a draftsman and with the loving support of his family, he began his teaching career at Fenelon Falls. A new adventure began in 1983 when Sharon was ordained by The United Church of Canada and the family moved to Arcola, Saskatchewan. Russ taught in five schools and directed the band program for the school division. He finished out a rewarding career at Dunbarton High School in Pickering. Russ and Sharon returned to Kingston in 1997. He has derived much pleasure in preparing family histories and playing music. He appreciated the love and support of his family and Friends throughout his life. Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie on Sunday, November 27, 2005, in his 77th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth (Betty), he will be lovingly remembered by his sons Michael and wife Kelly of Barrie, Stephen and wife Katherine of Barrie, and daughters Kathryn and husband Mike BELCHER of Minden, Lisa McBRIDE, and Laurie and husband Kevin BROWN of Barrie. Devoted grandpa to Jessica, Joshua, Alyssa, Matthew, Brittany, Tyler, Justin, and Meghan. Joe also leaves his dear brother Eugene McBRIDE and wife Cathie,▲ and sisters Mary BLUCHER, Evelyn WHITE/WHYTE, and Anne ALGAR. Fondly remembered by friend and companion Frances ROSE. Joe McBRIDE was born and raised in Barrie. As a teenager he excelled in sports, especially in the boxing ring and on the wrestling mat. He was considered a determined hard worker, manning the boilers on the Canadian Steamship, "The Edmonton", to donning the hat of an officer in the Innisfil police force. Joe was a people person and an avid businessman who worked for several petroleum companies as owner / operator for over 25 years. He carried on "old school" business ethics, where he was known to close a deal with a simple handshake. Joe's love of horses led him to be involved with most aspects of the Standardbred industry including owner, trainer and tack shop operator; Joe's passion and insight into the harness horse industry led to the creation of the thriving family run business, "McBride Trailers" located in Barrie. Joseph McBRIDE touched many lives and will surely be missed by all.
