It is with great sadness the McBratney family announces that
after a short illness Eleanor unexpectedly passed away peacefully
on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, in her 80th year of life. Eleanor,
beloved wife of 56 years to William. Loving mother and matriarch
of Brian (Debbie), Bill (Dianne), Blair (Heidi), Gary (Risë),
and Glen. Cherished grandmother of Amy (Bill), Michael, Christopher,
Shaun, Corrie, Tyler, Kyle, Eric, Shaelyn, great-grandmother
of Jacob and Ian. Eleanor will be missed and always cherished.

Shirley grew up in the east end of Toronto and
attended Riverdale Collegiate. She sang in the choirs of Christ
Church Deer Park, Toronto, and Christ Church, Woodbridge. Shirley
was active in many sports. She loved playing golf (Toronto Ladies
Golf Club) and also enjoyed tennis and skiing with her family
at Osler Bluff, Collingwood. After four generations of boys in
the LITTLE family, Shirley's wish for a granddaughter came true
with the birth of Sarah, her fifth grandchild. Friends may call

Doubleday Canada, most of those years as Secretary-Treasurer
of the company, Dorothy enriched her retirement by assisting
two days a week at Cottingham Public School (the school she herself
attended) and by loving each of the children she worked with
there. The Church of the Messiah was her spiritual home for nearly
all her years. There she sang in the Choir and was a devoted
member of the Chancel Guild. She was a Life Member of the Girl
Guides of Canada and a member of the Ladies Golf Club of Toronto.

was born in Toronto, Ontario, on April 11th, 1936. He joined
Bell Canada in 1954 and worked in Northern Ontario for many years
before he and his family moved to Orangeville and then Barrie
in 1967. He was a member of the Bell Canada Pioneers and the
Barrie Historical Society. After retiring in 1990, he and Jeannette
travelled extensively, something they enjoyed very much. He also
enjoyed hunting, fishing and working at his small engine repair
business, and foremost spending time with the apples of his eye
his grandchildren. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham

She was active in promoting opera by sitting on the President's
Council for the Canadian Opera Company. She was a proud member
of the World Federalists, an extension of the U.N., and the Monarchist
League of Canada. Ruth was also a life member of the Royal Life
Saving Society of Canada and a member of the United Empire Loyalists.
Ruth's fondness for art was expressed through her many paintings.
She was also an ardent fan of the National Ballet of Canada.
At her request, funeral arrangements are private, followed by
cremation. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the
Salvation Army.

of the company, Dorothy enriched her retirement by assisting
two days a week at Cottingham Public School (the school she herself
attended) and by loving each of the children she worked with
there. The Church of the Messiah was her spiritual home for nearly
all her years. There she sang in the Choir and was a devoted
member of the Chancel Guild. She was a Life Member of the Girl
Guides of Canada and a member of the Ladies Golf Club of Toronto.

Russel (1937-2005)
All too soon, on Saturday, November 26th, 2005 at Saint Mary's
of the Lake Hospital, Kingston, in the comforting presence of
a gracious God and a family whose love knows no limit. Russ was
the beloved husband of Sharon Marie (née
CLARK) and the cherished
father and mentor of Timothy and his wife Christine of Apsley,
and Christopher of Toronto. He was the proud grandfather of Carly
and Hailey. Ross will be sadly missed by Sharon's family: Mom,

McBRIDE are also a treasured part of his family. He was predeceased
by his parents Mamie and Russel Sr. Russ received his education
at Trent and Queen's Universities. After 15 years as a draftsman
and with the loving support of his family, he began his teaching
career at Fenelon Falls. A new adventure began in 1983 when Sharon
was ordained by The United Church of Canada and the family moved
to Arcola, Saskatchewan. Russ taught in five schools and directed
the band program for the school division. He finished out a rewarding
career at Dunbarton High School in Pickering. Russ and Sharon
returned to Kingston in 1997. He has derived much pleasure in
preparing family histories and playing music. He appreciated
the love and support of his family and Friends throughout his
life. His family would like to thank Judith of All-Care; all
of the medical personnel who assisted during his illness, and
the wonderful staff at Saint Mary's of the Lake for their care
and kindness. Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui
Chapel (1900 John Counter Boulevard), Kingston, on Monday from

Joe
McBRIDE was born and
raised in Barrie. As a teenager he excelled in sports, especially
in the boxing ring and on the wrestling mat. He was considered
a determined hard worker, manning the boilers on the Canadian
Steamship, "The Edmonton", to donning the hat of an officer in
the Innisfil police force. Joe was a people person and an avid
businessman who worked for several petroleum companies as owner
/ operator for over 25 years. He carried on "old school" business
ethics, where he was known to close a deal with a simple handshake.
Joe's love of horses led him to be involved with most aspects
of the Standardbred industry including owner, trainer and tack
shop operator; Joe's passion and insight into the harness horse
industry led to the creation of the thriving family run business,
"McBride Trailers" located in Barrie. Joseph
McBRIDE touched
many lives and will surely be missed by all. Friends may call
at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Road
(at Yonge St.), Barrie, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A
Funeral Mass will be held from Saint John Vianney Church on Thursday,

Iain, age 29, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2005 as a
result of a motor vehicle collision. Iain's name meant "God's
magnificent gift" and that he truly was - a gift to us all. In
his short life Iain touched many lives through his spirit, enthusiasm
for life, his smile and cheerful laughter. He was a great man
who helped anyone in need no matter what the situation. Iain
