July 17th, 2005 at the King Gardens Retirement Home. Mr.
McASKIN
was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie
KELLY, his brothers
Gerald and Edward, and his granddaughter, Sarah Caitlin
GLASER.
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn
McASKIN of Oakville
and Maureen
GLASER and her husband Fred of Greenville, North
Carolina, and his grand_son, Adam Mcaskin
GLASER.
Mr.
McASKIN
was born on September 4, 1916, in Auburn, New York. In his first
year the family relocated to Prescott, Ontario, where he spent
his early years. During World War 2 he served in the North Atlantic
as a member of the Royal Canadian Navy. He was employed for many
years as an electrician on construction projects in the Toronto
metropolitan area. Following his retirement he maintained an
active interest in sailing, winemaking, gardening, woodcarving
and painting. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a meticulous
craftsman, a devoted husband and father, a good neighbour, and
a loyal friend. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter "Peel"
Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hwy. 10 North of Queen
Elizabeth Way) on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass
will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2005, time and location to
be confirmed. Interment Saint Mary's Cemetery. If desired, donations
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
