J. passed away on January 13, 2005 in Henderson,
Nevada. Daniel was born on August 19, 1919 in Manchester, New
Hampshire to the late Emilia and Jacob
SWIST. He graduated the
University of Alabama where he earned a B. S. degree in Business
Administration and Accounting. His entire Business School senior
class enlisted in the military after Pearl Harbor and he served
in the combat infantry in France, Germany and Holland, receiving
several commendations. Later, he graduated from the Boston University
Law School and began a career in government. He worked in Washington,
D.C. for the State Department, the Department of Labor and the
Treasury Department's Internal Revenue Service. Daniel married
the love of his life, Wilda Ethel
GALLOWAY on November 27, 1963.
In 1976, he and Wilda retired to Clearwater, Florida and later
moved to Phoenix, Arizona. His beloved wife Wilda died on September
1, 1998 and the light went out of his life. He is also predeceased
by his sister, Wanda

Sculptor born in Wardner, Idaho, on October 14, 1887. After studying
art in Europe as a teenager, she attended the Chicago Institute
of Art. There she met Florence
WYLE, a sculptor six years her
senior with whom she formed a life-long relationship. In 1913,
they decided to move north and live in Canada. To the Toronto
arts community, they became known as "The Girls." Together, they
opened a studio called The Church and collaborated on a series
of First World War sculptures that depicted women as farm or
factory workers. On her own, Ms.
LORING executed large-scale
sculptures and was commissioned to design war memorials in towns
in New Brunswick, Ontario, and
at Osgoode Hall in Toronto. Her
last large work was the monument of Robert Borden that stands
on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Later in life, she and Ms.
WYLE
moved to Newmarket, Ontario. She died there, a month after Florence
