COOPER, Dr. William E.
Dr. William E. COOPER of Niagara Falls, born April 4, 1924, passed away April 12, 2005. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Moira, children; Claire, Leo, Marty (Emily GODFREE,) Brendan (Marie FLOOD,) Judy (Avrum SOICHER,) Erica (Ron MANTAY,) and Genevieve (Jason FAIRCLOUGH.) Survived by 12 grandchildren: Ben, Sierra, Owen, Spencer, Laura, Liam, Gabriel, Hannah, Lucie, Maya, Graham and Sean. Survived by his sisters Judith and Margaret, his twin, and predeceased by siblings Mary and John. Attended Stonyhurst College. Received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, London, England, 1948 and became an intern under Sir Alexander Fleming. Immigrated to Canada from England via Ohio where he was Internal Medicine Fellow at Cleveland Clinic 1954-1955. Settled in Niagara as Internist and Cardiologist at Greater Niagara General Hospital from 1957-1990 and was consultant at Shaver Hospital and Fort Erie Douglas Memorial. Introduced pacemakers, defibrillators, and echocardiography to Niagara Falls. He served on the W.C. Separate School Board for many years and also worked with the St. Vincent De Paul Society and Rotary Club. He continued to work for many years despite many physical disabilities including deafness, Parkinsonism, and later blindness. He was a great believer in Science, Education and Athletics and excelled in cricket and rugby in his native England. He was proud that all seven of his children graduated from university and two becoming doctors. In later years, he was grateful to be blessed with 12 grandchildren. He retained his sharp wit and sense of humour until the end. Cremation has already taken place. On- line tributes may be made at www.mem.com

Peacefully at Chelsey Park Retirement Community on Friday, March 4th, 2005, Frances "Fran" (HENDERSON) SOILLEUX of London, in her 88th year. Beloved wife for 56 years of William R. "Bill" SOILLEUX. Dear mother of William "Bill" HENDERSON and his wife Margaret of London. Predeceased by her sister Elizabeth A. CORNISH, her brother Roy R. HENDERSON and an infant brother John HENDERSON. Also loved by her grandchildren Melanie McKELLAR and her husband Scott of Kitchener, Nicole HENDERSON and her husband Terry RICHARDSON of London and Janine CHOWN and her partner Brad HALL of Kingston and her great-grandchildren Kendra and Connor McKELLAR. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, March 7th, 2005 at 1: 00 pm. Private family interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.
