D'ANGELO, John "Gianni" Michael (July 1, 1955-September 10, 2005)
With sorrow, the family of John D'Angelo announce his peaceful passing on September 10th after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Shelley (née WIGHAM.) Profoundly loved by his mother, Ancilla and father Ivo (deceased). A good friend to William (Bill) and Anne WIGHAM (Calgary.) Sadly missed by sister, Amalia CORRIERO and husband Peter (Toronto) and sister-in-law Karen FRANKS and husband Myron (Calgary and Nelson.) Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Lavinia CORRIERO and husband Ken YONG- PING (Toronto,) Ivano CORRIERO (Toronto,) Kira, Matthew and Aaron FRANKS (Calgary.)
John was a man of honour and high standards. A graduate of University of Toronto (Honours, B.Sc.) and University of Western Ontario (M.B.A.) his work in the world of technology and finance brought him great satisfaction and garnered him many life long Friendships. His thirst for knowledge was unquenchable and his love of writing culminated in the book he believed in each and every one of us. John will be remembered as an old soul by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank the entire care team at Princess Margaret Hospital, especially Dr. David HEDLEY, Dr. John KIM, Dr. Dori SECARRECCIA, Dr. BRYSON, Dr. Madeline LI and the compassionate professionals on the 16th floor.
John will be cremated as he wished. Visitation to be held at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, Thursday, September 15th between 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 24 Cheritan Avenue, west off Yonge Street (one block south of Lawrence Avenue), at 11: 00 a.m. Friday, September 16th. Reception and luncheon will follow mass.
