NEIL was born March 16, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba,
the second of five children of Frederick and Sarah
BROWN, who
were both born and raised in England. She grew up in Winnipeg,
married Vernon at Elim Chapel in June of 1941, then moved with
her husband and their first two children to Ottawa in 1948, where
she raised their family of four children before the family's
eventual move to Mississauga in 1965, where she became an accomplished
rug hooker. Mr. and Mrs.
NEIL lived during retirement in Burnaby,
British Columbia for eight years but returned to Mississauga
in 1996 to be near family. Beloved wife for 62 years of the late
Arthur Vernon

She is survived by

a retired CSX
Railroad conductor. Mr.
BURK/BURKE was an active member
of Central United Church, Saint Thomas, past president of the St.
Thomas Seniors Centre, a past executive member of the United
Transportation Union, was very actively involved in his community
and had a special interest in genealogy. He was a life member
of St. David's Lodge #302, Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons,
Saint Thomas, a member of Mocha Temple Shrine, London and Hillbilly
Clan 59 and was the Hillbilly Imperial Executive Ambassador for
North America. Cremation has taken place, with private interment
at Union Cemetery at a later date. A public memorial service
will be held at Central United Church (Wellington and Moore St.),
Saint Thomas on Monday, January 10th at 11: 00 a.m. Friends will
be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street,
Saint Thomas on Sunday from 2-4: 30 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the
service at the church. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired,
memorial donations may be made to Shrine Hospitals for Children
(Transportation), Pearce-Williams Christian Centre or the St.
Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit).
A masonic memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home
on Sunday at 4: 30 p.m. under the auspices of St. David's Lodge
#302, Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons
