Of Sydney, Nova Scotia. Called by God at the age of 86, William
passed away quietly surrounded by his family on January 15, 2005.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Bridget
(KENT)
TARGETT,
the stepson of the late Ned
GRIFFIN. He is survived by his three
sons, Bill (Kay), Markham, Ontario, Gary (Pauline), Cayman Islands
and Brian (Cathy), Sydney, Nova Scotia and his grandchildren,
Michael, Richard, Gregory, Cassandra and Jason, who loved their
Papa very much. Also survived by one stepbrother, Gerald
GRIFFIN
of Toronto, a brother-in-law, Tom
TAILOR/TAYLOR and sister-in-law, Peggy
RYBA-
TRAVIS, both of Sydney. He was predeceased by his wife,
Margaret (CLEARY,) sister, Rita
TAILOR/TAYLOR, brothers, Leo and Ethelbert,
stepbrother, Eddie
GRIFFIN and two brothers who died in infancy.
Bill worked at the Sydney Steel Plant in the Bar and Rod Mill
from 1937-1983, when he retired. He was a Veteran of the Second
World War and served overseas from 1941-1946. He spent countless
hours on the soccer field and at gymnastics events cheering for
his grandchildren and will be missed terribly. He was devoted
to his wife and family. His family invite you to celebrate Bill's
life at a memorial celebration and mass at Holy Redeemer Church,
Sydney, Nova Scotia on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11 a.m.
with Reverend Errol MacDonald officiating. Memorials may be made
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Palliative Care. Condolences
