ROHMER,
Ronald
Of New Haven and Hamden, Connecticut, cherished and much loved
brother of Richard and Mary
ROHMER, passed away on September
25th, 2005.
Ronald was a superb Canadian athlete and a master communicator.
A brilliant teenaged hockey player, he was a Junior A scoring
champion with the Brandon Wheat Kings. He tried out with the
Detroit Red Wings then was sent to play for New Haven. There
he converted his intelligent, eloquent persona to the superb
multi-charactered and many-voiced morning man at radio station
WELI where he entertained his vast listening audience for over
three decades.
In his later years he became a World Champion Senior weight lifter,
bench pressing many times over 325 pounds, a feat that he repeated
about ten days before his quick demise.
A memorial service will be held in Hamden at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
October 1st. It will be in the presence of his family and his
host of Friends.
