REFORD, Michael Stephen (1926-2005)
Michael REFORD passed away peacefully on his farm in the Gatineau Hills on Monday June 6 at the age of 78 years. Michael led a full and rich life as a naval aviator, geophysicist and farmer. The youngest child of Bruce REFORD and Evelyn MacINNES, he was educated at Wellington College, Trinity College School, Queen's College Oxford, and the University of Toronto. He traveled the world as a pioneer of aeromagnetic surveying with Mobil Oil, Canadian Aeroservice and Geoterrex. Active with his herd of Hereford cattle till the very end, Michael appreciated his shandy and old cheese following a hard day's work. Michael will be remembered by many up and down the Ottawa Valley and all those who shared his love of Quebec in Canada. He will be fondly missed by his wife of 51 years Tewky (Aurora TEWKSBURY,) sons Stephen, Lewis, Alexander and David, his brother Robert and his wife Stephanie, his wonderful daughters-in-law and grandchildren, and many relatives near and far. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at Christ Church (101 Symmes St, Gatineau /Aylmer, Quebec) on Saturday, June 11th at 11: 00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to his grandmother's thriving garden on the St. Lawrence River (Les Amis des Jardins de Metis, 200 route 132 Grand-Metis, Quebec G0J 1Z0).
