GREENLAND, Stella (née POZAK)
At McMaster University Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, Stella GREENLAND (née POZAK) passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 29, 2005. Born September 21, 1921, daughter of the late Steven and Lucia POZAK and wife to the late Leonard GREENLAND, Stella is survived by her sister, Pauline FORSYTH, two brothers, John and Peter POZAK, their respective spouses, Ken, Mary and Millie, and three generations of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend, Stanley PETERS. A loving and caring sister, wife, aunt and friend, Stella will be remembered for her classy appearance, her warm heart, her fierce independence and her strong convictions. In keeping with Stella's wishes, there will be no services for her passing, but family members are encouraged to celebrate her life on a personal level and to make donations in her memory to The Salvation Army or McMaster University Hospital. Stella will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

MARTIN, Alfred Charles Ernest " Alan"
Alan MARTIN passed away on January 16, 2005, in his 82nd year, at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Alan was predeceased by his wife and soulmate Julia. Loving father and friend to daughters Lindsay POZEGA and her husband Drago of Mississauga, Stephanie Joseph and her husband Bill of Burlington, Roberta BELL and her husband Duncan of Calgary and Philip David MARTIN, only son, of Calgary. Cherished grandpa to Elisa, Jonathan, Hayley, Ashley, Ryan, Jessica and Mathew. He will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, their families and many Friends. Alan was born in England and served in the Royal Air Force as Squadron Leader of the 635 Pathfinders, flying the Lancaster during the Second World War. He moved to Canada in 1954 with his wife Julia. Living in Oakville, they were active members of the Theatre Group. He worked for Mutual Life Insurance until his retirement. An avid crib player and gardener, always referred to as a gentleman. He resided at Hearthstone by the Lake, in his most recent years. Al will be greatly missed by his family and Friends. In his own unique way he touched many lives and brought joy, love and laughter to those who knew him. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital 1 East and the staff and residents at Hearthstone for their kindness. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, 905-844-3221 on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Dominic's Church (2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville). Interment Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. If desired, in memory of Alan, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House.

Passed away at his home in Midland on Tuesday, January 4th, 2005. Ron PHILLIPS of Midland, in his 67th year. Sadly missed by his wife Bernadette (HAMBLIN.) Dear dad of Mary DEFOE of Keswick, Kathy POZZO (Angelo) of Innisfil, Yvonne WILFORD (Jim) of Lakefield, Yvette WAKE (John) of Innisfil and Ron PHILLIPS (Kori) of Midland. Grandpa will be missed by Jamie (Joe) BIFOLCHI, Jason POZZO (Agnes,) Jennifer CLINTON (Durval), Chris WAKE (Carey), Dale WAKE, Terry DEFOE, Jimmy 'Buck' WILFORD, Ryan WAKE, Jessica WILFORD, Marena PHILLIPS and Melanie PHILLIPS. Also missed by his great-grandchildren Riley, Dakota, Madison, Tyler, Jamaal and Baby WAKE. Remembered by his sisters Doreen PETERS and Audrey ABERCROMBIE and his brother Ken. Predeceased by his parents John and Viola, his step-father Ken and his sister Jackie.
