A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, nurse and tireless
volunteer, Imogene
APPS passed away on Monday, October 17, 2005,
peacefully at home in Woodstock, Ontario, after a long and brave
struggle with cancer. She was in her 73rd year. Imogene was the
second daughter of the late Garfield
GRACEY and Edith
DOWN)
GRACEY, of Curries, Ontario and, for over 50 years, the beloved
wife of Arthur Carlyle
APPS.
Together▼ they made a welcoming home,
raised a large family and built a successful business. Predeceased
by their daughter, Mary Kathleen (1965), she will be lovingly
remembered and deeply missed by their 6 children; Alfred and
his wife, Danielle
FRENCH of Toronto, Margaret (Peggy)
BRUNELLE
and her husband, Jean-Guy of Montreal, Eric and his wife, Laura
BAKER of Toronto; Caroline
BRUNELLE, and her husband, Normand,
of Montreal, David of Cambridge and his fiancée, Patricia
POMAR,
and Martin, of Woodstock. She was a dear and loving grandma to
her 13 grandchildren: Devon, Suzanne, Nicole, Catherine, Philippe,
Carlyle, Caroline, Robert, Grace, Nathalie, Charlotte, Olivia
and Aubrey-Rose. Also predeceased by her dear brother Cecil (1987),
Imogene is survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She will be
sadly missed by Charles of Ancaster, George of Listowel, David

Helen WILLIAMS of Guelph. Imogene was a dedicated worker for
many causes, especially the Anglican Church, the Arthritis Society
and the Liberal Party at the local, provincial and national levels.
She was a long-time member and warden of Old St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Woodstock, where she also sang in the choir and was active
in a variety of organizations. Among her many leadership roles
over the years, Imogene served as President of the Deanery of
Oxford, President of the Anglican Church Women for the Diocese
of Huron, member of the Board of the Corporation of Huron University
College, President of the Oxford Liberal Association and President
of the Arthritis Society of Oxford County. She was a frequent
delegate to the Diocesan and National Synods of the Anglican
Church of Canada and to various Provincial and National Liberal
Party Conventions. She was a recipient of the Award of Huron.
Imogene devoted herself to helping others. She will be sadly
missed by countless fellow travellers who she served so quietly
and faithfully over many years by driving them to church, delivering
meals-on-wheels, leading aquatic therapy classes or just dropping
by to provide some valued Friendship and cheer. Nor will she
be soon forgotten by the families of many whose loved ones she
nursed in their own last days. We extend our heartfelt thanks
and gratitude to Dr.
SUGIMOTO and his team at the London Regional
Cancer Centre and to her personal doctor, Dr.
