PIVNICK o@ca.on.york_county.toronto.toronto_star 2005-03-04 published
MORTON, Irving
Passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease on Thursday, February 24, 2005, in his 79th year. He will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving wife Jean, daughter Linda PIVNICK and her husband Larry of Dallas, and son Bryan and his wife Jude of Dallas. He was cherished by grandchildren Jillian Pivnick FORRESTER, Robert PIVNICK, Megan and Matthew MORTON. Born in St. Catharines, his first job was in his father's hardware store. From there he branched out into selling oil heaters and finally, he founded and was Chief Executive Officer of Cliffside Pipelayers, one of the most successful underground utility companies in Toronto. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour and wit and generosity to others. He loved golf and spent many hours striving in its blissful pursuit at Donalda Club and Innisbrook in Florida. A private family service will be held at a later date to celebrate his joy of life. Special thanks to the staff at Burloak Long Term Care in Burlington for their compassionate care. In memory of Irv, please help others by donating to the Alzheimer Society. (Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home, Burlington, 905-632-3333).
