Donna Marie (DICKER) of Saint Thomas, on Friday April 8, 2005, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) in her 67th year. Loved wife of the late Donald Owen ROSS (2003) and dearly loved mother of David Dean ROSS and his wife Edith▼ Jean▼ of Port Stanley, Victoria Mae ROSS of Saint Thomas and Katherine Elizabeth PAVAI and her husband Janos BELA of Saint Thomas. Dear sister of Stanley DICKER of Hamilton and his wife Sandra▼ of London and Elizabeth BRADLEY and her husband Wilf of Saint Thomas. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, 5 greatgrandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Donna was born in Saint Thomas on January 12, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Victoria BOLT. Predeceased▼ by a brother-in-law James ROSS (1966) and a sister-in-law Viola PAVEY (1999.) She was a member of St. Andrews United Church and was a former employee of H. and R. Block. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Tuesday afternoon and then to St. Andrews United Church, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Alzheimers Society.

SPARKS, Warren Brown
Warren died in his 96th year at Kitchener on 4th January 2005. Warren, affectionately called "Sparky" by his many Friends was predeceased by his loving wife Letha Jean SPARKS (née BRUCE) in 1997. Warren was the eldest child of James and Sarah (PELLOW) SPARKS and was born on the family farm in 1909 near Princeton, Ontario. He spent most of his teaching career in Schumacher, Ontario ending it as Principal of Schumacher High School. Warren is survived by his sister Anna ELMES (the late Rupert) and is predeceased by his brothers Lindsay (Isabel SPARKS,) Earl (Jean SPARKS,) Ralph (the late Janet SPARKS) and Allan. As well Warren is predeceased by his daughter Mary (Doug ALEXANDER) of Thunder Bay and is survived by his children Shirley WEISMAN (the late Gustav WEISMAN) of Stouffville, Jim SPARKS (Karen SPARKS) of Erin and Susan HALL (Harry HALL) of Uxbridge. Warren is survived by his grandchildren Tom ALEXANDER (Vivian,) Jay ALEXANDER (Susan,) Susan ALEXANDER, Yasmin SPARKS (Bruce HALDENBY), Nadine SPARKS (David PAVAN) and David WING (Shauna WING,) Bruce HALL and Sarah HALL and by his grandchildren Kaleb ALEXANDER, Mirabai ALEXANDER, Elizabeth ALEXANDER, Ryan WING, Andrew WING, Fae ALEXANDER, Jayne ALEXANDER, Callum HALDENBY and Satya MARI. Predeceased by her brother Reverend Damian (Bernard) LIEBERS, O.Carm.; and cousin, Sr. Isidore (Frances) SHERRIN, I.B.V.M. Survived by cousins, Catherine BERGES, Joseph (Mary) BERGES, Rhonda (Luigi) PAVAN, other cousins in Toronto, Meaford and England. Sister Elizabeth was a teacher in numerous schools in Toronto, Guelph, Niagara Falls and Stratford. Also assisted with the catechetical correspondence courses in Guelph for several years. Luke Tobias Lushington GREENBLATT, 15, of Borden Street, Toronto, drowned Wednesday, August 10, 2005, near Matagami, Quebec. Luke was the cherished son of Kate LUSHINGTON and Richard GREENBLATT, adored brother of Natasha Grace and William PAVEL, beloved nephew of Lewis FUREY, Carole LAURE and Mark LUSHINGTON, dear cousin of Clara, Tomas and Jake, loving grand_son to Stephen LUSHINGTON, Sonia LUSHINGTON (deceased,) John and Selma GREENBLATT (deceased,) a delight to his godparents Dorian CLARK, Nicky GUADAGNI, Joyce MASON, Monique MOJICA, Colin NAPTHINE and Djanet SEARS, and an admired and treasured friend to many extraordinary young people. Luke loved music, especially jamming with his brother and Friends. He played piano and clarinet with heart and soul, as well as alto and soprano sax and guitar. He was a drummer in the rock band Abbott. Luke was entering Grade 10 at Oakwood Collegiate. He played forward for the Parkdale Flames and Amesbury Avalanche hockey teams, pitched for the Tigers at Christie Pits and enjoyed soccer, skateboarding, boxing, chess and his dog Bella. Luke felt a deep affinity to Buddhism and philosophy and was Bar Mitzvahed on May 22, 2004 at the Beaches Hebrew Institute. Luke was a steady shining presence in our lives, his tragic accident is a wrenching loss to an entire community. Suddenly but peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto on Friday evening November 18, 2005.
Beloved wife of the late Basil PALIJENKO, loving mother of the late Nicholas PALIJENKO, the late Marianne PALIJENKO and of Peter PALIJENKO. Dear mother-in-law of Andrea MOZAROWSKI. She will be sadly missed by her sister Lesya PAVLENKO, her brother-in-law Paul PALIYENKO, her sister-in-law Leslie PALIYENKO, her cousin Halya BILYK and their families.
Born in Novostavcy, Ukraine January 14, 1929, she survived horrific wartime events of the Nazi and Soviet armies and a series of losses of immediate family members starting with her mother when Anne was a child of 11. In facing these hardships she found a courage -- both awesome and resourceful -- which forged in her a peerless character and stamina.
Together with her younger sister, she immigrated to Canada to build a life and family here. Her love of learning and innate curiosity became the foundation for an accomplished career as a medical librarian at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. She discovered a love of opera and attended performances with the Canadian Opera Company's inception. The tragic events of her early years pained and haunted her so deeply, but her suffering forged a deep compassion and a strong desire to be loving and tender to others. Her relatives and Friends were the benefactors of her generosity and will fondly remember Anne as a warm, exuberant, giving individual.
The family expresses its gratitude to the staff at Fellowship Towers for the kindness and care which gave Anne support and strength in her later years.

The tragic events of her early years pained and haunted her so deeply, but her suffering became the source for a deep compassion and a strong desire to be loving and tender to others.
