OKE,
Randy "
Meat
Head"
(SIMS) (1954-2005)
On September 9, 2005, after bravely battling brain cancer for
over a year, and with the tireless love and support of his wife
and best friend, Sharon, Randy's struggle for life has ended
peacefully at home. Randy loved family, Friends and the simple
pleasures that each day of life afforded him. His unconditional
love, compassion and acts of kindness were deeply felt by all
that knew him. Randy had a love of football and the Pittsburgh
Steelers and a passion for golf but his greatest joy was his
work as a meat specialist for Price Chopper. He took great pride
in his ability to train and nurture all those around him. His
dedication was reflected in all the people that worked with him
on the Price Chopper team. Although love could not save Randy
from this terrible disease, it was his wish that in lieu of flowers
and a funeral, that donations to the Canadian Brain Tumor Foundation,
Research Dept, 620 Colborne Street, Suite 301, London, Ontario
N6B 3R9, 519-642-7775, be made in his honour. Randy was surrounded
by those who loved him most in his last days and in typical Randy
style, never lost his sweetness or spontaneous sense of humour.
Thank you to St. Joseph's Palliative Care Team and Victorian
Order of Nurses for their caring, patience and compassion. A
special thank you to all his Friends for the overwhelming support
they have shown in the past year. Although taken from us far
too soon, Randy was truly blessed in life and death.
