Joan had many Friends who will miss her keen mind, her enthusiastic
participation in a variety of pursuits and her devoted Friendship.
She contributed to the development of many young men and women
in her 40 year career as a teacher and guidance counselor, first
in England, and then for many years at Winston Churchill Collegiate
in Scarborough. Joan enjoyed her membership in several groups
of the University Women's Club of North York - Afternoon Duplicate,
Table Hoppers, Book Study and Food with Flair and will be missed
by many members of these groups. She was also a keen member of
the Toronto Ladies Golf Club. Joan enjoyed tending to her beautiful
perennial English garden, crosswords, tennis, cooking, golf and
spending time with Madison. We wish to express our profound thanks
to Juliana

GOODHAND, Rose

and the staff from ComCare who cared for Joan with compassion,
love and humour for the past six months. We also wish to express
deep gratitude to the nurses on the 7th floor at University Hospital

SCHULTZ for their loving concern
and compassionate guidance. We are also grateful to Dr.

and all the caring members of the Motor Neuron Clinic Team at
