Passed away peacefully, on Monday, January 10, 2005, in Nanaimo, British Columbia Jack, beloved husband of Lucy Maria, and loving father of Jane and her husband Daniel THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Judy and her husband Mark PONTI- SGARGI, and Joyce and her husband Ben NOY. Grandpa Jack will be lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles), with visitation one hour prior.

Peacefully at Middlesex Terrace Nursing Home, Delaware, on Saturday, February 12th, 2005, Olive E. (McDONALD) MOGK of London in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Oliver MOGK (1972.) Dear mother of Richard A. MOGK of London. Dear sister of Jean HEAGY of London and Irene POOLE of Toronto; and predeceased by her sister Dorothy NOYES and her brother Bill McDONALD. Survived also by her brother-in-law Al NOYES of Ancaster, her sister-in-law Doreen McDONALD of Durham, and her many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment of cremated remains will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, at a later date. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the funeral service being conducted in the chapel of the A. Passed away at Saint John's, Newfoundland, on July 11, 2005, aged 94 years. Predeceased by husband E.B. (Bill) PEARCE; sisters: Esther MANBERT and Anne (Tig) LEFEBVRE and brother Ted FINCH- NOYES. Leaving to mourn son Edward GRENVILLE (Ted) of Toronto; daughter Harriet Anne (Keith) MERCER; grandchildren: Kimberly Anne PEARCE, Lesley MERCER and Nick MERCER; great-grandchildren: Aidan and Madeleine PEARCE- HARDACRE. PIERS, Desmond William, C.M., D.S.C., C.D., L.O.N., K.C.L.J., M.M.L.J., Rear-Admiral Royal Canadian Navy, (Ret'd).
It is with deep sadness that the Piers family announce the death of Desmond William PIERS on November 1, 2005. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on June 12, 1913, he was the son of the late William Harrington PIERS and the late Dr. Florence Maud (O'DONNELL) PIERS, and a member of one of the City's founding families. Educated at the Halifax County Academy and the Royal Military College of Canada, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1932 as the first ex-Cadet of R.M.C. to enter that service. During his span of thirty-five years' naval service he advanced to the rank of Rear Admiral before taking voluntary retirement in 1967. Admiral PIERS is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Janet (MacNEILL) daughter, Anne BAKER; grand_sons Hugh (Anne McDONOUGH;) Philip (Jeanetta HOFFMAN;) and Piers (Katherine GLEASON;) great grandchildren, Justin, Jamie, Erin, Jillian, Adrienne and Isabella Janet; brother, Walter Harrington PIERS, and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia FINCH- NOYES. His remains are entrusted to Davis Funeral Home, Chester, Nova Scotia 902-275-3811. A memorial service will be held in Saint Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, Nova Scotia at 2: 00 p.m. Friday, 18 November 2005, the Reverend James McCorriston officiating. Admiral Pier's ashes will, at a later date and in the presence of family, be placed in the Naval Crypt of historic Saint Paul's Anglican Church, Halifax.
