WHITE/WHYTE,
Mari▼ McCairns (née
NISBET)
(March 14, 1951-December 11, 2005)
It is with great sadness that Dustin, Rebecca and Jeff announce
the passing of Mari after a brief but courageous battle with
cancer. Please know that the family is at peace with this dramatic
change in our lives as we had the opportunity to provide for
a compassionate release of her life. Mari grew up in the city
of Toronto under the helpful guidance of her parents, the late
Bill and Ruby
NISBET.
Mari▼ was predeceased by her sister Betty
and was in the arms of her brother Bob at the time of her death.
She was a graduate of Central Commerce and studied Journalism
at Humber College. In the fall of 1973 while traveling by ship
to the Balearic Islands, Mari came into my life. We enjoyed several
months of touring through Spain and arrived back in Canada for
Christmas. Together we shared a wonderful romance that spanned
32 fantastic years. As a couple, we were married under an oak
tree on a sunny Muskoka day in 1978, to the tune of Scottish
bagpipes. We were privileged with a six week South Pacific honeymoon,
travels all over the world; but most precious to me, is our creation
of two beautiful healthy children that have grown into fine young
adults. We were fortunate enough to discover the passion of life.
We pursued and built our dreams with a sense of excitement that
was second to none. We explored the world! This is perhaps what
makes her passing so peaceful for us, as we remember with vivid
memories, the great times enjoyed together, but it was just too
short! We wish all, especially at this time of the year, to pause
for a moment and enjoy what you have. Say thank you, because
it can change in a heart beat forever. We want to acknowledge
the Cancer Staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket
for their caring services. We respectfully ask that if there
is to be a response of charity or generosity, that it be directed
to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation in Mari's
memory. The celebration of Mari's life will be held on January
28, 2006 between 2: 00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at King's Riding Golf
Club, located at 14700 Bathurst Street, Aurora.
