MOES,
Barbara
Ann (née
WHITE/WHYTE) (June 5, 1939-2005)
of Cobourg, Ontario died peacefully on February 2, surrounded
by her close family in Southlake Hospital, Newmarket after a
heroic struggle with cancer. She was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia
to the late Gordon and Frances
(ROSS)
WHITE/WHYTE.
She will be forever
missed by her daughter, Jane DE
MUNNICH of Sutton, Ontario and
her husband, Peter and their two children, Mattea and Clara,
her son, William
MOES of Lakefield, Ontario and his wife, Elizabeth
and their two children, Kyle and Katlyn, by her brother James
WHITE/WHYTE and his wife
Meridith, and her brother John
WHITE/WHYTE and his
wife Lillian. Until her hospitalization on New Year's Eve, 2004,
she lived in Cobourg for the last 14 years, where she pursued
her passions of painting and writing. Prior to this, she was
the Marketing Director of the Banff Film Festival, and the editor
of Broadcaster Magazine. She graduated as one of Trinity College,
U. of T.'s first mature students with an Honours B.A. in English
literature, and also received her A.R.C.T. in singing. She was
a professional model in Toronto and Halifax. For a while she
was a member of the Hart House Choir; her love of singing made
the loss of her voice to her third cancer ten years ago all the
more poignant. She will be remembered in her hometown of Windsor,
Nova Scotia as the Princess of the Apple Blossom Festival, as
a precocious musician on the violin and piano. The funeral will
be held at MacCoubrey's Funeral Home, 30 King St. East, Cobourg,
at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 6 with the visitation at 1 p.m.
The reception will be held at her home immediately following
the service. Donations to the Cancer Society will be greatly
appreciated. Condolences

The woman takes off her amber glasses and walks
to the blue house with ochre shutters.
On the table she finds a book of poems
Written in a child's hand.
She reads by lamplight
and the clack, clack of the shutters.
A car pulls up.
There is a knock on the door.
A voice says "Your room is ready".

& Amber)
