KUNST
WILLIAMS, Adrian "Burke" (October 5, 1934-April 19, 2005)
Burke was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the
son of Mabel and
Frank KUNST
WILLIAMS. He lived most of his early life in Ottawa
where he attended Carleton University. He graduated from there
with a B.Sc. and later went on to complete his C.G.A. Burke worked
as an auditor for Touche Ross Bailey and Smart before joining
the provincial government. His work with the Ontario government
took him to St. Catharines, Thunder Bay, Brampton and Whitby,
and ultimately to the Directorship of Sales Tax for the Department
of Revenue, a position he held for several years. Burke was known
as an excellent and respected manager, focused, knowledgeable
and supportive of his staff. Retirement brought additional moves,
to Calgary, Alberta, and finally to the Kitchener/Waterloo area.
Burke's death leaves his family with a gaping void,
for his wife of 46 years, Jennifer, his life companion and great
friend, his beloved daughter Becky, his son-in-law Jim
MIHELL,
and his two wonderful granddaughters, Wendy and Erika. He was
predeceased by his younger daughter, Pam. He will be sorely missed
by his sister Jackie
CAMPBELL
(Al,) sister-in-law Peta
TANCRED
(Guy), his niece Jill and nephew Darin, as well as extended family
members. For his family Burke was the great enabler, extremely
supportive, patient, tolerant, helpful and kind, a Mr. Fix-It
with a great sense of humour. He valued his Friends, and the
times spent together. He lived in the present, honored the past
but had his gaze firmly fixed on the future. He had plans! He
loved travelling, nature, photography, computers and cars. Burke
served as a Director for his condominium corporation, and was
a member of Calvary Memorial United Church.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Burke with his
family during memorial visitation at Calvary Memorial United
Church, 91 Gruhn Street Kitchener Ontario on Saturday April 23
from 1-2 p.m. followed by the memorial service to celebrate Burke's
life and faith at 2 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers and
in Burke's memory, donations may be made
to the Pamela Williams Memorial Award, Queen's University, Kingston,
Ontario, K7L 3N6 or to the Manse Project at Calvary Memorial
United Church and can be arranged through the Edward R. Good
Funeral Home 171 King Street South Waterloo.
