Gone to be with her Lord on Monday, February 7, 2005, Pauline NEUTEL (née ZYLSTRA) of Canterbury Street Woodstock and formerly of R. R. #4 Woodstock in her 89th year. Beloved wife of 59 years to Harm NEUTEL. Dear mother of Hilda GERRITS and her husband Don of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Robert and his wife Gerry of Woodstock, Harry and his wife Flo of Victoria, British Columbia, John and his wife Mary Ann of Clinton, Diane ZAVITZ and her husband Wayne of Ingersoll, Pauline CAWOOD and her husband Martyn of Georgetown and Walter and his wife Sonya of Woodstock. Dear mother-in-law of Jane NEUTEL of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also survived by four sisters, five brothers and many nieces and nephews. Passed away in Reno, Nevada on November 21, 2005, a few days short of his 82nd birthday. Jules was the son of "Lap" LA PRAIRIE and Beatrice KELLY and is survived by his devoted wife Phyllis (GREEN,) daughter Ann M. MIERS (Paul,) sons Roger (Nancy,) Richard (Debbie), Dennis and nine grandchildren. Predeceased by son Christian and brother Carl LA PRAIRIE (Nonie.) Also leaving brothers Paul (the late Jean), Richard, Leon, Clifford (Virginia) and George (Rose) and sisters Rosemary MacKENZIE (Jim) and Jacqueline O'DONOGHUE (Joe) and sister-in-law Erna BEGGS and 162 nieces and nephews (in 3 generations).
Jules was born in Timmins, Ontario on December 1, 1923, his brother Paul's 4th birthday. Conveniently he was given to Paul as a birthday present. He was raised and educated in Toronto, served overseas with the 1st Canadian Paratroop Battalion, graduated from the University of Toronto in Mining Engineering and married Phyllis Green of Flin Flon, Manitoba, in 1950. Jules and Phyllis lived in mining camps across Canada and the U.S.A., with the last 35 years in Reno. Services will take place December 1st, the day of Jules 82nd birthday. Service will be conducted by Fr. Durante at Our Lady of Snows Church in Reno.

After a lifelong quest for knowledge, C. Maria (MIES) VAN DER WEL of London, Professor Emeritus at Huron College, passed into glory at St. Joseph's Health Centre, London, on Saturday, July 9th, 2005 in her 88th year. She is survived by her brothers Thies VAN DER WEL of Holland, John (Atie) VANDERWEL of Brampton, Leo (Nellie) VANDERWEL of Burnaby British Columbia, Charles VANDERWEL of London, C. Frank (Corry) VANDERWEL of London; and her sisters Tineke GOODHAND of the United Kingdom Helen (Tony) BARTON of the U.S.A., and Trudy (Bert) VAN DER HOEK of London. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A., United Kingdom and Holland. Predeceased by her brothers Willem (1955) and Douwe (1953). Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 12th at 11 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church, 507 Talbot Street, London. Interment in De Meern, the Netherlands, at a later date. Ronald Arvon SEAVER of Scarborough (formerly of Cornwall, Ontario) in his 59th year. Dearly loved son of the late Fred and Edith SEAVER. Beloved husband of Marilyn (née MIESKE.) Dear brother of Larry (Diane,) Terry, Cathy (Don) HALLING, and Morley (Gisele.) Dearest son-in-law of Lucy MIESKE and the late Harry MIESKE. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Faye and her husband Harold O'BRIEN. Ronald also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, many Friends and colleagues. Loved grandmother of Jim, Brenda and Linda. Sadly missed by 9 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. She is the last of her family. Dorothy was born in London, England on March 27, 1908 the daughter of the late Jacob and Blanche MIESS. She lived in Saint Thomas since 1941 and was a retired secretary.
