Passed away peacefully at Maxville Manor, Maxville, Ontario on Monday, July 4, 2005. Gladys MacEWEN of Maxville, formerly of Ottawa in her 86th year. Dear daughter of the late Thomas ULLET and the late Sadie MacCRIMMON. Beloved wife of the late Gerald MacEWEN. Cherished mother of Catherine MacEWEN (Anthony LYSAK) of Toronto and the late Thomas MacEWEN. Dear sister of Doris POLK (late Howard) of Ottawa. Loving aunt to Gordon WINTER (Lorna) of Maxville, Aida ANDERSON (late James) of Maxville, Doug MacEWEN (Bev) of Ottawa, Glenn MacEWEN (Eva) of Princeton, N.J., Ron MacEWEN (Helen) of Bass Lake, Ontario, Penny ECHENBERG (Gordon) of Montreal, and Pamela HOFFMAN of Florida. Past President of Epilepsy Ontario, Past President of Kinsmen Club of Pickering. Suddenly at his residence with his family by his side on Saturday, December 17, 2005, in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Maureen. Loving father of Jessica and Scott. Cherished son of Dorothy EMMONS. Predeceased by his father Gerald. Brother to David (Barbara) and Donald (Beverly). Brother-in-law of Stephen (Joan) LOFT and Marnie (Michael) LYSAKER. He will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and all who knew him. Dear mother of Sally and her husband Les LYSCH of Brampton, Bob and his wife Carol of London, Susan and her husband David VYSE of Foldens and Bill and his wife Sheila of Ingersoll. Dear grandmother of Stephen LYSCH, Mark and Karyn JELLOUS, Eric VYSE, Scott, Lee and Kelly JELLOUS. Dear great-grandmother of Andrew and Raylene VYSE. Dear sister of Jean MURRAY of Ingersoll. Ruth was a volunteer member of many community organizations over the years. WAITE, Derek
On Thursday, December 1st, 2005, in his 48th year, Derek WAITE lost his battle with cancer. Derek fought for 4½ years, determined to spend as much time as possible with his Friends and family, and managed to stay positive throughout the entire battle. He will be greatly missed by his long time partner Debbie COLLINS and her children; Catherine, Ryan and David and his fianceé Cara GROVER. Step-son of Edith WAITE. Step-brother of Linda LOW/LOWE/LOUGH (Bob DRAGINDA), Maureen BALCHEN (Paul), Patti DEKLYNE (Ron), Cathy BOGLE (Brian) and Marianne LOW/LOWE/LOUGH (Geoff BURK/BURKE.) Also survived by his aunt Diane SHEPHERD, uncle Malcolm LYSENG (Lynne) and cousin Bob SHEPHERD (Kelly.) Derek was an employee of Crystal Glass for over 25 years. Derek was an enthusiastic golfer, downhill skier, baseball and hockey player and his friendly generous attitude created many long deep Friendships. Thank you to all of his Friends who helped give him courage. Thank you to Brenda HUTTON and Shaliza MOHAMMED of St. Elizabeth's Health Care for their care and visits, Dr. Brian TAILOR/TAYLOR, Dr. Bill McKEOUGH and the staff of 8th Floor University Hospital and 6th Floor Palliative Care of University Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Tuesday, December 6th, 2005 at 6: 00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place with interment of ashes to follow in Alberta. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Major Thomas (Taffy) M. FYSHE Jr. and her parents, Noël H. LYSONS and Nora M. LYSONS, née HARDCASTLE, and her sister Frances CUST of Australia. Survived by her children Daniel J. and his wife Betty, Christopher T., Michael A. and his wife Susan, Jonathan P. and his wife Linda, Wendy TONKIN and her husband Jack, and Timothy N. and his wife Briar. Also survived by her grandchildren, David and wife Melanie, Thomas, Jake, Adam, Anna, Benjamin, Alona, Kayla, Quinton FYSHE; Kelly and Christopher Tonkin.
