MITCHELL, Norma (née GRACEY)
Norma MITCHELL of Straffordville died at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, August 28, 2005 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Eugene MITCHELL and loving mother of Bill and wife Nancy of Straffordville, and Virginia PRIDHAM of MITCHELL. Loving Grandmother to Kim VAN LOY and husband Pete of Dorchester, and Reid PRIDHAM and fiance Karie of Waterloo. Great grandmother to Hadyn VAN LOY of Dorchester. Sister of Gordon GRACEY and his wife Evelyn. Predeceased by brothers Ross, Glen, Hugh, and Ralph GRACEY, and grand_son Wade MITCHELL. Born on the home farm in Springfield on July 4, 1914, daughter of the late William GRACEY and Cora HODGSON. Norma was teacher of one room schools at S.S. No. 3 and Maple Grove, taught grades 1 to 4 at Summer's Corners Public School, and finished her career teaching primary grades at Straffordville Public School. She enjoyed playing the organ both at home and at Church and looked forward to the many get-togethers with her Friends within the "Coffee Gang". Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer, on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at 1 p.m. Interment Straffordville Cemetery. Peacefully, at the Village of Tansley Woods, Burlington, on Wednesday, July 13, 2005, in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Cecil LAI. Loving mother of Christine CORAL of London, England, Robin and his wife Denise of Cotati, California, and Rose and her husband Phil SHEARN of Oakville. Loved grandmother of Christian, Kaia, Rebecca, Elliott (Erin), and great-grand_son Nathan. Dear sister of Norma CHAI, Vera and her husband Andy JONG, all of New York and Esmee CHIN- LOY of Vancouver. Predeceased by her brothers Cyril, Earl and Fred. Funeral Service will be held at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of Queen Elizabeth Way), Burlington (905-632-3333), on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. Cremation. Peacefully at Marian Villa on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, Mr. Mike NUYTEN of London in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Joanne. Loving father of Jacqueline LOYENS and her husband Tony, Henry, Richard, all of London, and Donald of Mt. Brydges. Dear brother of Martien and Henk of the Netherlands, and Nellie of Australia. Also loved by his grandchildren, Jon, Rachelle, Paul, Matthieu, Danny, Kasandra, Andrew and Kendra. Predeceased by his grand_son Michael (July 3, 2005). Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in conjunction with funeral service for his grand_son, Michael, on Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North. Died peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 with courage, strength, and grace. Jean's engaging smile and boundless warmth will be missed by her children Daphne (Stan) LOYKO of Tillsonburg Jennifer (Geoffrey) BROWN of Brampton; and David (Bonnie) PRICE of Maryhill. Predeceased by brothers Charles John, and Leonard Cress; husbands Edward John Montague SHILLABEER (1946,) and John BRYANT (1993.) Loved grandmother to Leslie and Kimberley JUNKIN John COATES, Sandra LOTHIAN, and Melanie and Christopher BRYANT. Great-grandmother to Kaleigh, Madison, and Mackenzie LOTHIAN. Survived by her husband Harold PRICE whom she married in 1998. On Saturday, November 19, 2005 in her 93rd year after a yearlong struggle with cancer. Mother of Charles James (Nancy) of Chemainus, British Columbia and Robert Arnott (Michelle) of Toronto. Grandmother to Timothy (Mississauga, Ontario), Martin-Louis (Toronto), Antony (Athens, Greece), Nadia (Squamish, British Columbia) and Kezia (Victoria, British Columbia).
She will also be sorely missed by her sister-in-law Mrs. Helen LOYNES of Belleville and her nephews and nieces of the Bright and Loynes families.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Angela and the devoted fourth floor staff of Trilogy Long-Term Care, 340 McCowan Road, Scarborough, Ontario, for their outstanding care, compassion and support during Betty's final months and hours.
A memorial service will be held in Belleville at a later date.

Passed away unexpectedly at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Percy DENNY and Albert CASE. Loving mother of Sharon and her husband Michael TROTTMAN. Much loved "Nana" of Matthew and Chance. Dear sister of Don BARNUM and his wife Arlene, Helen LOYNES and her late husband Jim, and the late Roy BARNUM and his late wife Ruth. Cherished friend of Peter McLAURIN. She will also be greatly missed by all her nieces and nephews. Evelyn had a wonderful ability to embrace change and dedicated her life to the people who meant the most to her. She was a "people person" who shared her passion for music, her beloved Blue Jays and life in general with all who knew her. Loving father of Don and his wife Teddye, of Barrie, Ontario, Eric, Al and his wife Ruby, of Newfoundland, and the late Bobbie LOYST. Cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Hank was a former vice president of the Canadian Kellogg branch of M.W. Kellogg of New York City. (Currently Kellogg Brown and Root of Houston, Texas). Former Member of St. George's Golf and Country Club and Oakville Trafalgar Golf and Country Club. A complete Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Skinner and Middlebrook Ltd., 128 Lakeshore Rd. E.
