After a long and dignified battle, Lena died peacefully at home on June 10, 2005 with her loving husband by her side. Born April 27, 1920. Beloved wife of Louis LOFEODO. Loving mother of Frank and his wife Julie. Cherished grandmother of Paul and Daniel. Sister to Dominic CAPALBO and his wife Mary, Theresa HILTZ and George MAUGERI and his wife Norah. Sister-in-law to Marilyn MAUGERI. Dear daughter of the late Marie MAUGERI and Dominic CAPALBO. Predeceased by her brothers Frank, Tony and Rudy. Friends may call at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home and Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street (south of Wellesley Street), on Sunday, June 12, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, June 13, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Anselm Church on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 10: 30 a.m. (1 MacNaughton Road). It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of John on Tuesday May 3rd, 2005, in his 98th year. He has gone to be with the love of his life, his beloved wife Angelina (nee LOFRANCO.) Loving father of Joseph and Rose, Marie and Roland and Vicki and lain. Very proud and loving grandpa of Joey, Perry, Michael, John, Laurie and Andy and great grandpa of Eric and Daniel. His family was the most important part of his life. John was a very kind and gentle person and always a gentleman. He had a real passion for life and always enjoyed being with others. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Family and Friends will be received at the Bernardo Funeral Home 2960 Dufferin St. (two streets south of Lawrence Ave.) on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday May 5th, 2005 in St. Eugene's Church (13 Regina Ave., west of Bathurst St.) at 10: 30 a.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery (Yonge St. south of Hwy. 7).

BUONASTELLA, Shelley (née THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON)
Embraced in the "Community Cloak" of her family and Friends, Shelley Thomson/Buonastella passed away, Wednesday August 17, 2005 at the Toronto General Hospital. Her fierce battle with non-smokers lung cancer ended, as it began, with Shelley surrounded and protected by her family, her Friends and the broad community she worked with and loved. A teacher and community activist, she was treasured by her husband, Orlando, and her two children, son, Sandro, Danya, her daughter and her dad, Murray (predeceased). She leaves a vast network of loving survivors beginning with her mother, Jessie THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, father and mother-in-law Fortunato and Filomena BUONASTELLA and her five sisters, brothers-in-law and their families: Nancy Donald (Gilbert LOFSTROM;) Linda FLEAR (Don); Marion SHERRY (Jim); Virginia THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Mike PHILLIPS) Pamela Thomson BARBADORO; and, Maurizio BUONASTELLA (Sonia.) Four nieces and 10 nephews will miss their imaginative, musical and gentle Aunt Shelley. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Avenue W. Suddenly on May 19, 2005 at the New Horizons Tower Retirement Home. Born in Jamaica, Asley moved to Canada in 1962 and worked in both Port Credit and Calgary in the oil industry as a technician. He was a long-standing member of the Jarvis Street Baptist Church in Toronto. He is survived by his siblings Beryl KIRVEN and Osbourne LOFTERS, sons Harry McINTOSH, Peter LOFTERS, Philip LOFTERS, daughter Sophia LOFTERS- McGUIRE and ex-wife Grace LOFTERS. He will be missed by his grandchildren Adrienne, Calvin, Russell, Richard, Tiffany, Chosen, Renee and Kadian. Resting at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 715 Dovercourt Road in Toronto on Friday, May 27, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. Memorial Services will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 11 a.m., from the Jarvis Street Baptist Church, 130 Gerrard Street East at the corner of Jarvis and Gerrard. Age 48, of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, formerly of Ontario, passed away Friday, August 19, 2005 in the Q.E. II Infirmary Site. Born in Scarborough, Ontario, he was the son of Virginia (Jean) and the late Claude AQUIN. Patch was an avid sportsman who enjoyed his Wednesday nights Sackville Legion Darts games and his Sunday double header ball games in Eastern Passage; he loved to ride and enjoyed the Annual Ride for Sight. Patch was employed for many years in the Aerospace industry as an electrical technician. His first 20 years with McDonald Douglas; and the last five years at IMP Aerospace. He also worked for 25 years part time as a DJ, he loved his music. Surviving are his wife the former Krista HYLAND; daughter, Amber LOFTON, Las Vegas stepchildren Kelly and Justin; sister Carole-Rose (Leonard) TAILOR/TAYLOR. Patch was predeceased by his father Claude and his grandparents. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday August 23, 2005, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville Nova Scotia. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday August 24, 2005, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Fall River. Father Raymond Mura officiating. Cremation to follow. Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on April 29th, 2005 in her 84th year. Predeceased by husband Ronald M. LEE, parents Dr. William and Mona LOFTUS, and sisters Claire Legare and Mona LOFTUS. Loving mother of Michael G. LEE of Capitola, California and Shaun J. LEE of Mountain View, California. Also survived by sisters Anna (Neil) O'BRIEN of St. Catharines, Vera QUINN of Collingwood, brother Bill LOFTUS (Sandra) of St. Catharines and many nieces, nephews and their families. Born in St. Catharines, she graduated in 1943 from St. Michael's Hospital Nursing School and in 1948 from St. Michael's School for Medical Record Administrators. She was a Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Canadian Army Medical Corp in 1945 and 1946 serving on the Isle de France bringing troops back to Canada. She lived in California (Bay area) for 35 years and retired in 1988 as Director of Medical Record Services at Sequoia Hospital, Redwood City, California. Margaret was also an active member of St. Julia's Parish in St. Catharines and the C.W.L. Funeral details remain incomplete at this time.
